Chapter 204 The Cloud Piercer

Li Si followed the middle-aged man, chatting casually along the way.

It was clear that the middle-aged man was quite excited about Li Sisui joining the Lieyun Sect, and he kept introducing various aspects of the Lieyun Sect along the way, so the conversation never got dull.

Li Sisui listened casually, even though he had already found out most of the details in the previous few days.

However, coming from a middle-aged man, it carried a different feel, as if the Rift Cloud Sect was no less powerful than the Inner Sect.

This made Li Sisui a little cautious. The middle-aged man was very good at reading people and immediately sensed Li Sisui's displeasure, so he changed the subject and stopped boasting.

After traveling for more than two hours, we finally arrived at our destination.

The middle-aged man pointed to a small hill not far ahead and said:

"Once we cross that small hill, we'll reach the Rift Cloud Gate!"

After saying that, he let out a long sigh of relief.

Li Si looked up but couldn't see anything different; everywhere was black stone and dark green plant.

Li Sisui felt he was getting a bit tired of the scenery. Compared to his first time going down the mountain, this time the monotonous landscape made him feel rather irritable.

After the two crossed the small hill, what came into view was a huge tree that would take several people to encircle. The middle of the tree was connected, gradually forming the wooden houses where the tribe lived.

Although the style is simple and the design is monotonous, this wooden house suits Li Sisui's taste better than the cave he lived in before.

Li Sisui finally felt a touch of life here.

After climbing the tree, the two entered a huge triangular wooden house that was five or six meters high.

A few tribesmen were already standing inside, all gathered around the wooden plank in front, seemingly looking at something.

Everyone watched as the middle-aged man led Li Sisui inside, without even looking up, continuing to focus on their own affairs.

The middle-aged man took out a wooden sign tied with a straw rope from his pocket and pulled Li Sisui to the side.

In another corner of the cabin, an elderly man with a white beard sat with his eyes closed, seemingly oblivious to what was happening inside the cabin.

It wasn't until the middle-aged man led Li Sisui closer that he slowly opened his glasses and glanced at the dark spots on Li Sisui's face.

The middle-aged man placed the wooden plaque in front of the white-bearded old man and said:

"I have successfully completed this year's mission. The person behind me is the outsider required by the mission. He will join the sect and become one of us."

After saying this, he pulled Li Sisui in front of the old man. The white-bearded old man looked Li Sisui up and down, comparing him to the wooden plaque in his hand. After a long while, he slowly spoke:

"You completed this task far too easily. I'll make a note of it for you. You'll have to collect your reward later. Let's take this tribesman to complete the initiation procedures first!"

The middle-aged man bowed to say goodbye, then pulled Li Si out of the house, saying as they walked:

"This largest wooden hut is where missions are issued, and you'll be receiving your missions here from now on. Thanks to you, I've completed my missions for this year, and now I can go about my own business!"

Li Sisui said with a slight doubt:

"Can't I do my own thing if I don't complete the task?"

"No, that's not it. However, the sect requires everyone to complete at least one mission each year, or go out to Longtai Mountain once. If you are confident in yourself, you can make flexible arrangements. But for someone like me, being able to stay within the sect is naturally something I would be very happy to do!" The middle-aged man said with a smile.

Now that the mission has been handed over, there is no need to worry about Li Sisui going back on his word, and there is no need to hide anything about the situation of Lieyun Sect.

If what the middle-aged man said is true, then all the clansmen would naturally join the Rift Cloud Sect, so who would still participate in the trials to enter the inner sect?

Li Sisui casually agreed and then fell silent.

Seeing that Li Sisui's expression was normal, the middle-aged man was even more certain that Li Sisui was highly skilled and daring. He couldn't help but feel a sense of closeness and slowly said:

"You've just joined the sect, so you have a six-month grace period. Make the most of this time; it will help you complete your missions in the future!"

After hearing this, Li Sisui said calmly:

Thanks!

Seeing Li Sisui's indifferent attitude, the middle-aged man swallowed back the words that were about to come out.

It seems that I was able to complete this task with some luck. Normally, I probably couldn't persuade such a cold and indifferent person even if I had eight mouths.

Li Si followed the middle-aged man to a slightly lower wooden house next to them. The middle-aged man glanced at Li Si and then casually turned and walked away.

The cabin was damp, filled with the distinctive smell of moldy wood. Li Si looked around the cabin, but no one appeared.

After a while, Li Sisui gradually lost patience and simply plopped down on the ground, leaning against the wall for a short rest.

The Rift Cloud Sect didn't seem as lively as I'd imagined; everywhere I looked, there was a hint of struggle for survival, unlike the tranquility of the outer sects.

Just as Li Sisui was lost in thought, he heard footsteps coming from not far away; someone was coming.

Li Sisui scrambled to his feet, only to be met by the white-bearded old man who had just handed over the task to the middle-aged man. The old man glanced at Li Sisui expressionlessly.

"I'm getting old and my legs aren't as nimble as they used to be. The clansmen who were originally in charge here have all gone out on missions, so I've had to take on several roles myself. Young brother, why did you decide to join the Rift Cloud Sect?"

"Having failed the outer sect trial, I have no choice but to come here if I want to enter the inner sect."

"You have six months to learn about cultivation preparations, and after six months you will participate in the mission."

Li Si nodded, and the white-bearded old man turned and walked behind him. He came out after a while, carrying several stacks of thick leaves, a stone tablet, and a set of clothes.
