Chapter Forty-Three: Shenxiao Palace

Although the sandstorms at Wulipo were fierce, Li Sisui slept soundly that night. His tired nerves were refreshed again. After getting up and stretching, he found himself alone in the stone house. He subconsciously glanced at Leng Rushuang, who was staring coldly at him. Startled, he quickly turned his head away, yawning repeatedly.

"You guys got up way too early! Mmm, that was a really good night's sleep!"

Li Sisui walked out of the stone house with a lazy gait. With the help of the morning sunlight, he was able to see the protective array of the sect clearly. As expected of the number one sect in Wulipo, the aura of the swirling clouds and mist was far superior to that of Luoyun Sect. From time to time, the cries of cranes could be heard from the depths of the clouds and mist, making it look like a fairy abode.

"Grandmaster Uncle, the protective formation of Shenxiao Palace is just ahead. How... do we get across?"

"Of course we walked there!"

"Uh, there are many traps and restrictions inside the formation. Wouldn't it be unwise to just walk in? Should I inform them first?"

Cassia Seed's eyes flickered, showing slight hesitation. Li Si waved his hand dismissively, his expression playful:

"Since you're here to settle accounts, why be so polite?"

As he spoke, Li Si pointed to the misty forest ahead and walked over first. After taking a few steps, he suddenly remembered something, turned to Jue Mingzi, and said:

"Now that we've arrived at Shenxiao Palace, your mission is complete. Return to your sect to report. You don't need to follow me anymore, lest you get implicated. Besides, I have no interest in the position of sect leader, so there's no need to target me at every turn. Take care of yourself from now on..."

Cassia Seed paused for a few seconds, then, with a hint of shame, stammered:

"Thank you so much, Grandmaster Uncle! I'll be returning to the sect now. Take care, Grandmaster Uncle!"

Li Si nodded, ignoring him, then let out a long breath and strode towards the sect's protective formation. He soon disappeared into the clouds. Jue Mingzi cautiously glanced at Leng Rushuang, then bowed and said:

"Senior, this disciple will take his leave first..."

Leng Rushuang snorted coldly, said nothing, glanced at the protective formation before her, and without a peep, disappeared into it, leaving Jue Mingzi all alone. Staring at the overwhelming protective formation, a look of hesitation crossed his face. After a long internal struggle, he finally sighed and muttered to himself:

"Alas, Grandmaster Uncle, please don't blame your disciple..."

As he spoke, seeing that no one was around, he waved his arm and took out a set of array flags from his storage ring. He then placed them in fixed positions and poured his cultivation into the array. The array flags, which were originally dim, began to gradually brighten the moment Jue Mingzi's cultivation entered them, just like a tungsten filament lamp that had been turned on, changing from flickering to constant brightness.

Seeing the formation take shape, Jue Mingzi wiped the sweat from his forehead, took out the jade slip and several spirit stones he had prepared beforehand, and threw them into the formation. The formation shone brightly as if fueled by oil, and then a beam of light as thick as an adult's arm shot out from the top of his body with a whoosh and headed towards the direction of Shenxiao Palace!

Not long after the beam of light entered the sect's protective formation, several array flags shattered with a few cracking sounds, and the spirit stones turned to dust. Only the jade slip seemed to have vanished into thin air. Jue Mingzi glanced at the remnants of the formation, shook his head and sighed. Then he summoned the Blazing Cloud Spear and flew towards the direction of the Falling Cloud Sect.

After Li Sisui stepped into the sect's protective formation, the clouds and mist in front of him instantly disappeared, and the scenery changed drastically. He saw a dense forest that stretched as far as the eye could see, and the scent of grass mixed with soil filled his nostrils. It was as if he were in the embrace of nature, and he felt indescribably comfortable and even a little intoxicated. However, Li Sisui was not stupid and immediately activated his unique domain!

As he continued to delve deeper into his study, he gained a new understanding of this peculiar realm. In his view, the defensive attributes of this realm far outweigh its offensive attributes. No matter what form of attack it takes, once it comes into contact with this peculiar realm, it will be trapped in a quagmire of stagnation, making it an absolute defense!

Li Sisui calls this peculiar domain the Slow Sword Domain. Now, the short sword that was originally the size of a palm has grown to the length of an adult's forearm, making it a true short sword. Before, its length was only enough to carry a dagger...

As he examined and consumed the pills that increased his cultivation, his spiritual sense also slowly improved. As a result, his Slow Sword Domain continued to change, and the range of his control was further expanded. Even the outline of the originally transparent short sword became clear. When he sensed all of this, Li Sisui was both surprised and delighted!

Now that I think about it, this booklet isn't as bad as I imagined. Although it's a bit domineering and doesn't allow you to practice other techniques at the same time, it has unparalleled plasticity and a much wider space for growth compared to other techniques that are basically fixed after you've mastered them!

Now that Li Sisui has activated the Slow Sword Domain, he basically doesn't need to control it much anymore. He just needs to master the short sword. As the protective formation of Shenxiao Palace, surely they wouldn't invite the person who broke the formation to enjoy nature?

Moreover, Li Si had been deeply impressed by the desolate Gobi scenery along the way, so the appearance of this lush forest in Wulipo was too strange. It would be a refreshing sight for cultivators who were used to seeing endless yellow sand, and they would not be able to help but take a few more glances!

Something unusual must be going on. As Li Sisui unleashed his Slow Sword Domain, the rolling forest around him began to slow down. Then, through the Slow Sword Domain, Li Sisui keenly realized that countless vines were spreading out from under his feet. If he had been a few seconds later, he would have been bound into a dumpling by the vines!

So the real killing move was underfoot. No wonder the scenery before them was so beautiful. Fortunately, Li Sisui came prepared. The vines in the slow sword domain spun at a snail's pace, and Li Sisui dodged them effortlessly. Then, with a flick of his finger, the short sword slowly swept across, and the vines fell to the ground!

However, outside the Slow Sword Domain, vines had already begun to grow wildly, blotting out the sky and quickly entangling the Slow Sword Domain like a hydrangea. Then, from all directions, countless vines frantically extended into the Slow Sword Domain. Seeing the ever-growing vines around him, Li Sisui couldn't help but smile bitterly:

"As expected of the sect's protective formation, it's quite impressive!"

Now that he had entered the sect's protective formation, the scene before him was all caused by the formation. Li Sisui understood these basic formation principles. As long as he could find a way to break the formation, the current situation could be resolved. Fortunately, within the slow sword domain, the vines grew very slowly, while the short swords that harvested them grew at a normal speed. With this disparity, Li Sisui was not too worried in the short term.

High atop a distant mountain, a disciple of the Divine Firmament Palace noticed something amiss with the protective array at the foot of the mountain and hurriedly reported it to the elder:

"Reporting to the elder, someone is attempting to break through the formation at the foot of the mountain!"

"Who goes there? How dare you break into the protective formation of the Divine Firmament Palace! This is outrageous! Let me see who you are!"

The disciple held the jade plate and began to activate his cultivation. Immediately afterwards, water ripples flowed on the surface of the jade plate, transforming into an image of the sect's protective formation!

The elder of Shenxiao Palace took a closer look and gasped:

"This...isn't this the nameless guide from the wanted scroll?"
