Chapter 203 Rift Cloud Gate

Li Si sighed almost imperceptibly, preparing to return to her residence to get a good night's sleep before making any further plans. However, when she turned around, she discovered that the middle-aged man not far away had been waiting for her and had not left.

Li Sisui composed himself and, with a hint of curiosity, approached the middle-aged man and said:

"Could you please repeat what you just said? I was in a bad mood and didn't listen carefully. I'm sorry."

As he spoke, Li Si bowed apologetically to the middle-aged man.

Seeing Li Sisui's courteous treatment and the quickness with which he composed himself, the middle-aged man's liking for Li Sisui grew even stronger. He smiled slightly and said:

"No need to be so polite. I am the sect leader of the Rift Cloud Sect. Young brother, would you be interested in joining the Rift Cloud Sect?"

Seeing Li Sisui listening attentively, the middle-aged man cleared his throat slightly and began to speak:

"The Rift Cloud Sect was established after the Nine Dragons Sect was founded. It is specifically designed to take in clansmen who have great cultivation but cannot gain the appreciation of the inner sect. It provides such clansmen with an opportunity to showcase themselves and a stepping stone to become stronger."

The middle-aged man gave Li Sisui a deep look and continued:

"The many clansmen within the sect watch over and help each other, supporting one another like brothers. On weekdays, we mainly complete some tasks assigned by the inner sect leaders, but our greater responsibility is to travel across the desolate Divine Continent, uniting clansmen from all directions, and gathering intelligence from various sources. Clansmen scattered throughout the Divine Continent respectfully call us Cloud Piercers, meaning 'one arrow piercing the clouds brings thousands of clansmen to meet.' We hope to use this opportunity to gather more clansmen and achieve the prosperity of the clan!"

Li Sisui didn't really listen to the middle-aged man's vivid description, but when he heard the words "Cloud Piercer," he felt as if he had been transported to another world.

The dark-skinned Cloud Piercer who had been both his teacher and friend appeared before his eyes once again.

Although we may have to go our separate ways when disaster strikes, the kindness of saving my life and the love of teaching me the language will be etched in my heart and I will never forget it.

Otherwise, how could I have easily infiltrated the clan and become a member of the Tu tribe?

Thinking about it this way, if it weren't for the Cloud Piercer's rescue, who freed me from Hidden Dragon Village and brought me to the Tu tribe's stronghold, I wouldn't have had the chance to be rescued by the Tu tribe.

Otherwise, I fear that, being unfamiliar with the place and unable to speak the language, I would have already been buried in the wilderness, my soul returning to the heavens.

The middle-aged man swallowed hard. Seeing that Li Sisui was showing signs of wavering, he planned to continue his silver tongue and seize the opportunity to bring Li Sisui under his wing, thus completing his mission. However, to his surprise, Li Sisui looked up at the middle-aged man and said:

"I'm in!"

The middle-aged man's face instantly turned bright red, as if he couldn't believe what Li Sisui had said. He grabbed Li Sisui tightly and shouted in a raised voice:

"It's a deal, no going back on it! Hurry up and come with me inside to register. I heard it with my own ears, so don't even think about going back on your word!"

Li Sisui was filled with emotion at this moment, recalling his past experiences with the Cloud Piercer, and now he felt a sudden warmth.

He thought to himself:

"Rest in peace, Cloud Piercer. Let me carry on your work and fulfill your mission, as a way of repaying your kindness!"

Having been resentful about the outer sect trial, Li Sisui finally found an outlet for his frustration, like a ship lost at sea finding its way home. A cold smile unconsciously appeared on his face.

As for the middle-aged man, Li Sisui didn't care at all; he was only very interested in the person behind the middle-aged man.

Li Sisui had already experienced financial sales pitches in the world before, and in his opinion, the middle-aged man's remarks were far too childish, clearly an attempt to lure him into a trap with ulterior motives.

Li Sisui didn't point it out, after all, he had nothing on him, and as the saying goes, the barefoot have nothing to fear.

Li Sisui let the middle-aged man continue, partly because he was drawn to the title "Cloud Piercer," and partly because he wanted to see who this inner sect member who had schemed against him was and why he was so persistent in pursuing him.

If you still haven't noticed the repeated failures in the outer sect trials and the various things that have happened around you recently, then you're just being hindsight.

The reason I didn't participate in the outer sect trials consecutively was to be on the safe side in case that person tried to kill me during the trials. My caution in the past two years was also to prevent such a thing from happening.

Looking back on my experiences since the start of the trials, I've encountered all sorts of firsts.

One coincidence might be understandable, but if it happens every time, it's probably not that simple. It's less of a coincidence and more like something carefully orchestrated.

So far, all I know is that the other side's goal is to prevent me from joining the inner sect. I originally thought that after failing the trials three times, all these things should have disappeared as well.

But seeing the middle-aged man who came out right after the trial, talking so eloquently, Li Sisui realized that the other party had no intention of stopping. What exactly he wanted to do to him, Li Sisui had no idea.

Li Sisui had been wary of being killed, but now it seemed that he had underestimated the other party's patience.

Rather than letting Li Sisui disappear silently, the other party seemed to prefer watching Li Sisui sink into despair step by step.

Now that he has broken his promise to Su Qingyu, he naturally cannot enter the inner sect through normal channels, and all of this is thanks to that person.

Since there's no way to avoid it, then naturally I should go and see what kind of drama has been arranged for me.

Sometimes, instead of hiding and engaging in futile struggles, it's better to face the challenge head-on, even if it doesn't affect the final outcome.

But at least one should die knowing why; one can't die a confused ghost on the way to the underworld, can one?
