Chapter Four: Honeyed Confidence

Source of "It Turns Out I Was Really the Protagonist":

The young man struck with fury, his flying sword blazing with golden light, turning the bridal sedan chair beside him into gold, a truly magnificent sight. Li Sisui still smiled, but inside he was panicking again, and even felt a little regretful!

Isn't life wonderful?

Having finally become a transmigrator, with the opportunity to cultivate immortality and seek eternal life, why do you have to court death!

As the old saying goes, "If you don't court death, you won't die!"

...

The flying sword was very fast, but it only flew halfway before a sudden gust of wind blew it off course, causing it to fall to the ground. It turned out that it had been stopped again by the Daoist Wufa, who stood up from the high platform, his eyes wide with anger, and said:

"Stop! How can you kill innocent people in front of all of you, especially on such a joyous day? The Heavenly Gate Sect has stood on Mount Fugu for countless years and will never wrong any innocent person, but it will not let a clown get away with it either!"

At this point, the Daoist Wufa paused, glanced around expressionlessly, and continued:

"Since this fellow Daoist dared to come alone, there must be some truth to it. Now that all of you are here, let's be witnesses. Although the Heavenly Gate Sect is the number one sect on Mount Fugu, it will not bully others or be indiscriminate in its dealings with right and wrong!"

If it were anyone else, they would probably have been slapped to death by Daoist Wufa long ago. However, Li Sisui's calm demeanor at the stone gate had left a deep impression on him. Cultivators always cherish their lives, and no one would joke about their own life. In addition, Li Sisui's cultivation level made Daoist Wufa subconsciously feel that he must be some kind of hermit cultivator who happened to be traveling here. Otherwise, there was no way to explain it!

With these considerations in mind, Daoist Wufa lowered himself and invited Li Sisui to the ceremony, partly to test his strength and partly to make the acquaintance of a powerful figure. Why not? However, Daoist Wufa never expected that he would invite a wolf into his house and have his son's bride snatched away!

In front of so many fellow Daoists from various sects, as the number one sect of Fugu Mountain, we should naturally show the magnanimity of the number one sect and persuade people with reason. Although Tianmen Sect has always subdued people with force, everyone here is a respectable person, so we should deal with it in a dignified manner first, with courtesy before force. Even if it eventually comes to the point of fighting, we will not give people a reason to criticize us!

As the leader of a sect, Daoist Wufa must consider all aspects of his words, actions, and deeds. Although Tianmen Sect is the largest sect in Fugu Mountain, it is difficult to defy the wrath of the masses. If he were to blindly favor the child in a situation like today, how would Tianmen Sect uphold the righteous path in front of other sects in the future?

Based on these comprehensive considerations, Daoist Wufa spoke so righteously, even to outsiders, it seemed to have the flavor of sacrificing family for the greater good. After he finished speaking, he not only showed the magnanimity of the number one sect, but also made the people around him more convinced of the Tianmen Sect. Even though it was the sect leader's only son, he did not show any favoritism. He was indeed worthy of being the number one sect, upright and incorruptible, and convinced people with reason!

"Fellow Daoist, words alone are not enough. Do you have any evidence to prove that what you just said is true?"

The Daoist Master Wufa regained his former majesty, scrutinizing Li Sisui with interest before speaking. His words were barely out of his mouth when those around him echoed his sentiments:

"Indeed, to be fair, feelings don't develop overnight. If there is indeed something to it, then produce the evidence. The sect leader is reasonable, so why would he force a couple to be apart?"

"Is this kid just trying to get attention and have some fun?"

"It's not that bad. This is the Heavenly Gate Sect. Who would joke around with their life? That would be stupid. This kid may look a bit simple-minded, but he's not that foolish, is he?"

"..."

"No personal attacks, huh?" Li Sisui listened to the gossip around him, a helpless bitter smile on his face. What evidence did he have? The people around him were right; he was just asking for death, just being stupid...

I just didn't expect that guy on the platform to be so easy to talk to. He didn't even react when the bride was openly snatched away. Doesn't he have any pride? Or does his son not?

Li Sisui was completely baffled. He even suspected that this sect leader was habitually stopping his son, and that he just wanted to provoke the big shot so he could unleash a few powerful moves to see if he could kill him. If he couldn't kill him, he would take off; if he could, then so be it...

Who would have thought it would be so complicated, requiring evidence?

He's only been here a short time, where are we supposed to find evidence?

It seems we can't just talk the talk; we have to get serious. He just doesn't believe that this so-called number one sect leader can be so patient!

"Further words are pointless. How about this, I'll take her away from here now. Does anyone have any objections?"

Li Sisui didn't want to rack his brains to make up any more stories, so he simply started doing it. He couldn't stand it anymore, could he? He had already started doing it.

Just as Li Sisui had predicted, before he could even take a few steps out of the bridal sedan chair, the young man beside him objected angrily, saying:

"Today is my wedding day, why should I let you take me away?"

On what grounds?

This question truly stumped Li Sisui. Why? He genuinely didn't know. He couldn't very well say he was the protagonist, or people would think he was an idiot. For a moment, he was speechless, then suddenly a brilliant idea flashed through his mind, and he burst out laughing:

"On what grounds? With my cultivation level at the Divine Illumination stage, you all should step back at once!"

There's no way around it, I'm not going to pretend anymore. I'm laying my cards on the table. I'm a true master-uncle level expert with the cultivation of the Divine Illumination stage. I'm not being arrogant. Everyone here is trash!

Divine period?

hiss!

Pfft!

While everyone around was still in a daze, a soft laugh came from inside the bridal sedan chair, causing Li Sisui to feel his blood rush to his head. This soft laugh made him have all sorts of wild thoughts, imagining countless indescribable scenes. Fortunately, he managed to suppress it and didn't break down!
