As he thought, the old toad's aura gradually rose, showing signs of rivaling the black clouds above its head. The pair of light wings behind it vibrated faster and faster, and the flowing light around the wings also rushed around rapidly. At the base of the wings, a pair of small light wings appeared faintly, with photons flowing inside, and they were gradually growing larger.
Old Liu raised an eyebrow, thinking to himself:
"What a toad! You actually managed to break through at this time, but even if you did, it wouldn't save your life!"
Suddenly, the blood dragon emerged from the dark clouds, its head resembling that of a python from Li Sisui's previous world. Its enormous head, as large as a truck, was covered in blood-red scales and flicked its scarlet tongue, giving a cold look to the old toad and the earth dragon behind him.
Suddenly, it opened its mouth, and as its tongue twisted, a bolt of red lightning struck down, hitting the old toad directly. Before it could react, bolts of red lightning rained down like rain. The earth dragon coiled its body, trying to protect the old toad, but to no avail.
A short while later, the dark clouds in the sky dispersed, and Old Liu, who had returned to his usual appearance, was now someone no one dared to underestimate. It was as if nothing had happened; only the charred marks on the ground testified to what had transpired there.
The village entrance returned to calm, and Old Liu walked up to Li Sisui with a smile and said:
"You've got guts, young man! You watched it from beginning to end, not bad!"
After saying that, he turned and left. Although Old Liu looked kind and polite, Li Sisui could still feel the coldness in his eyes when he turned away, which made Li Sisui's spine go cold.
The village elder had long since left, and the villagers who had been watching had dispersed when the old toad and the village elder began their fight. They knew that when these experts fought, a slight mistake could lead to collateral damage. Only Li Sisui watched the whole thing foolishly, but luckily he was unharmed.
Li Sisui was still in shock and unable to extricate himself.
What truly surprised Li Sisui was not the sudden burst of such powerful combat strength from the smiling hunchbacked old man. Li Sisui knew nothing about cultivation and had no idea what such a level of cultivation represented in this world.
For Li Sisui, it was just that he thought it was impressive, but that was all he felt, like watching a movie where the lead actor is very impressive.
What truly shocked Li Sisui was that he saw a legendary dragon for the first time in his life. Although it seemed to be some kind of blood dragon or a jiaolong, for Li Sisui who lived in the previous world, no one could resonate with it more strongly.
As descendants of the dragon, we have felt the power of that faith for thousands of years. Although it has been diluted to just a spiritual sentiment, one day, when your spiritual totem suddenly appears vividly before your eyes, no one can imagine what kind of power that is.
Li Sisui felt as if a door had suddenly opened in his heart. All the confusion of the past had now vanished, and an invisible force was drawing him towards a certain place. Li Sisui couldn't help but feel his blood boil. He tried to control himself and took a deep breath. He seemed to faintly smell an aura in some corner of this world, overlooking this continent—noble, arrogant, indifferent, and mysterious.
In fact, Li Sisui had doubts in the previous world. Although he was a well-educated young man with all four qualities who had received a materialist education, it did not prevent him from doubting that world. In the previous world, there was a saying about the twelve zodiac animals. Eleven of the animals were real creatures, but one animal was considered to be fictional and imagined by people from the past.
Yet this fictional zodiac animal, over thousands of years, has been endowed with unparalleled power and glory, and has also been entrusted with unmatched spiritual support. It has endured through the ages, and whenever people raise their voices in celebration, the descendants of the dragon, from all corners of the world, are united by blood and determined to overcome any obstacle.
In that world, Li Sisui could only harbor his doubts. But now, Li Sisui suddenly realized that although he had transmigrated to this strange world and lost everything, this strange world also gave Li Sisui a chance to rediscover himself, to reaffirm his doubts, to take back everything he wanted, and to live according to his own will...
Li Sisui stood blankly at the village entrance, his eyes unfocused, as if he had realized something. Then he turned and walked towards the blacksmith's shop. After Li Sisui left, a figure emerged from a rooftop near the village entrance. An old man with a hunched back, holding a pipe, watched Li Sisui walk away in silence, lost in thought.
As night fell, the bustling village returned to its usual tranquility, except for a few flickering lights on the rooftops at the village entrance, and the darkness seemed to suggest someone was talking.
"Perhaps it's time to bring it forward. I wonder how the Nine Dragons Sect will react to today's battle?"
High atop a mountain thousands of miles away, a man gazed in the direction of Hidden Dragon Village and muttered to himself:
"There really is a dragon, but it's just a young, immature serpent, and a blood serpent at that. It won't amount to anything. It shouldn't be this. What could it be?"
More than a week had passed since the great battle, and the village seemed to have returned to its usual tranquility, with villagers working at sunrise and resting at sunset. Sometimes, the village children would ask Li Sisui to go hunting and play with them, but Li Sisui always refused.
Since the last great battle, Li Sisui realized that this seemingly peaceful village actually hides many unknown secrets, and those seemingly simple villagers may very well turn into experts with wings of light on their backs, annihilating enemies with a wave of their hand.
