Chapter 210 An Old Friend Visits

The white-bearded old man was visibly taken aback upon hearing Li Sisui's words, but then he understood and thought to himself:

"So you're still an uncivilized savage. Fine, I'll lend you a hand."

After speaking, the old man silently recited an incantation, reached out and guided his hand to his brow. A ball of light appeared along his finger, with faint runes and incantations flashing inside. Without the old man doing anything, the ball of light suddenly trembled and shot towards Li Sisui's brow. Upon seeing this, Li Sisui instinctively leaped backward, but the ball of light was too fast, and he still couldn't dodge it. The ball of light directly entered Li Sisui's brow!

Li Sisui felt a throbbing sensation in his head, as if something had suddenly appeared, and strange characters flashed through his mind. Seeing Li Sisui standing there in a daze, the old man stroked his beard and smiled, thinking to himself:

"This is the 'Spirit Awakening Technique,' specifically designed to awaken and enlighten wild beasts and pets that have just begun to develop intelligence, allowing them to begin to understand human nature and communicate normally with humans. However, for any animal that has just begun to develop intelligence, absorbing the Spirit Awakening Orb will take anywhere from one day to half a month."

The old man turned to leave, but suddenly a voice sounded behind him:

"Grandpa, could you tell me where this is? Where am I?"

The old man appeared calm on the surface, but a turbulent storm was brewing within him:

"This person's comprehension is exceptionally high, unparalleled in my life. In the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, he actually absorbed the entire Spirit Awakening Orb. Although the Spirit Awakening Technique is used to tame wild beasts and awaken their intelligence, it is also the most common method for testing aptitude and comprehension in the Guangyuan Continent. The shorter the absorption time, the higher the aptitude and comprehension."

Li Sisui looked at the old man's surprised and uncertain gaze, wondering what had happened. Although the old man had just shone a ball of light at him, apart from a slight headache, he felt no discomfort. Moreover, it seemed that because of that ball of light, he had mastered another language, which felt strange and seemed very different from before. But right now, his most urgent task was to find out where he was and what had happened.

"You don't know where you are? Then do you know what year and month it is?" the old man asked.

"Isn't it December 22, 2012 now?"

“I don’t understand what you’re saying. This is the Guangyuan Continent, Yinlong Village. It’s May of the 60th year of the Yuan calendar. The place you are in now is where I usually cultivate. You were found in the mountains by hunters from my village. You were unconscious when you were found, but at least your life is not in danger.”

Li Sisui was somewhat taken aback after hearing this. What Hidden Dragon Village on the Guangyuan Continent? What Yuan Calendar?

"Grandpa, do you know what planet this is?"

"What planet? What is a planet?"

"Earth, you don't know?"

What is Earth?

"You're an actor, right?"

"What nonsense are you spouting!"

Li Sisui seemed to understand something, his gaze glazed over as he muttered to himself, "No way, I've been reading too many wish-fulfillment novels! How could this be? I must still be dreaming!" The old man was still immersed in Li Sisui's astonishing talent and didn't want to look at him anymore, yet he was scratching and biting, talking incoherently, appearing almost frantic.

"I must be dreaming. How could I possibly have traveled through time? Damn it!"

...

"I want to go back to Earth, I want to go back to China, I want to go to work, damn it!"

...

"Wake up, wake up, wake up! This must be a dream, ah~"

...

The old man shook his head, looking at Li Sisui in bewilderment. He pinched himself, pounded the ground with his hands, and listened to Li Sisui's inexplicable curses and some unheard-of phrases: China? Telephone? ... In the end, all he saw was Li Sisui crying for a while, laughing for a while, with empty eyes and muttering to himself.

The old man sighed helplessly. Even someone as experienced as him couldn't help but feel overwhelmed when encountering someone with such extraordinary talent, experiencing extreme highs and lows. He thought this person had gone mad. He had initially thought it was due to exceptional comprehension, but it turned out to be just a fleeting moment of brilliance...

His previous few normal words were just a last burst of energy before death. The information contained in the Spirit Awakening Group was far beyond what he could absorb in the time it takes to drink a cup of tea. Now, his brain must have been completely disrupted by the vast and complex information of the Spirit Awakening Group, causing him to lose his self-awareness and turn into a complete madman.

The old man looked lost and turned to leave, no longer paying attention to Li Sisui. The large room was left with only a bewildered Li Sisui and the blazing sun overhead.

Li Sisui stayed in the village elder's meditation room for three whole days, without eating, drinking, or sleeping. He lay sprawled on the floor, his mind churning with memories of the past, like a movie playing in his head. The kind neighbors who had been kind to him, his grand ambitions, the beautiful dreams he had once longed for—all of the past suddenly seemed so distant.

"I don't know what sins I committed to have transmigrated like this," Li Sisui couldn't help but stand up and roar angrily.

"This doesn't make sense!"

Although he had not eaten, drunk, or slept for three days, his angry voice still sounded powerful and resounding. The birds resting in the trees outside were startled and fluttered their wings to fly away.

Someone whispered at the door:

"Science? What is science? This savage has really gone mad!"

Li Sisui glanced towards the doorway and saw a boy peeking in; he figured the boy was the one who had spoken.

"Where did this brat come from? I have a name and surname, who are you calling a savage!"

"The village elder sent me to check if you are alive or dead, if you are insane or mad?"

Li Sisui continued:

"I'm living a life worse than death!"

The boy seemed to understand but not quite, and said:

"Looks like you're neither crazy nor dead, just a bit incoherent. Calling me 'kid,' you're not much older than me. Come with me to see the village elder. Hidden Dragon Village doesn't support idlers. Survival is tough these days, and everyone in the village, young and old, has to contribute. I'm calling you here to confirm whether you're staying or leaving. But I'm still kindly reminding you that the outside world is very chaotic. Even the pulse masters in the village don't dare to go out casually, or they'll be reduced to ashes. You'd better find a reason to stay in the village, so at least you won't die a violent death."
