Instinctively, it began to struggle, as if an invisible hand was tightly gripping Li Sisui's neck.
Upon seeing this, two of them broke into surprised smiles on their previously indifferent faces.
With a flick of the wrist, the light rope disappeared.
One of them leaped forward and caught Li Sisui as he fell.
He raised his hand and sucked the thin film on Li Sisui's body, along with the unknown liquid on the ground, into a gourd-shaped container.
Immediately afterwards, he threw out a dark green robe with his other hand, covering most of Li Sisui's body.
Li Sisui was wrapped tightly in his long robe, panting heavily, looking at the three people surrounding him in horror.
I just can't understand why I have to go through such humiliation!
"Without scales or tail, neither hiding nor transforming, you are definitely not an outsider. Congratulations on recognizing your ancestors and becoming the 13,721st member of the Tu tribe. From now on, you will enjoy the protection of your tribe and dedicate your all to the Tu tribe!"
The person speaking was the same figure that Li Sisui hadn't seen clearly before, presumably the Venerable One mentioned by the clan.
Li Sisui looked at the middle-aged man who walked towards him with a mixture of shock and anger.
As if sensing Li Sisui's anger and unease, the middle-aged man continued:
"All that happened before was a crude way of testing whether we share the same roots, and was not intended to humiliate you. Now that we are of the same clan, we must work together to restore our clan's glory!"
Seeing the growing doubt in Li Sisui's eyes, the middle-aged man continued:
"I am Dongfang Bubai, the head of the outer sect of the Nine Dragons Sect, in charge of all affairs of the outer sect. From now on, obey the arrangements of the sect and do your job well. If there is nothing else to report, you may leave now!"
With that, Dongfang Bubai turned and walked away.
Li Sisui understood the gist of it, but at least he remembered the name.
Seeing that His Excellency was about to leave, he quickly raised his hand and called out:
"Your Excellency, please wait a moment..."
Before Li Sisui could finish speaking, he felt a gust of wind rush towards him, followed by a burning pain on his face.
A faint taste of blood rose in his mouth, and he was slapped to the ground by one of his tribesmen.
Li Sisui was stunned by the sudden slap, but then heard a clansman beside him shout sternly:
"How dare you address His Majesty by his surname? You have already committed a capital offense, but considering this is your first offense, this is a punishment. If you do it again, you will be executed!"
After saying this, he bowed and addressed Dongfang Bubai, who was about to leave but was still standing there:
"Your Majesty, please calm your anger. We will take our leave immediately!"
With that, the two grabbed Li Si and ran away as if fleeing.
Dongfang Bubai watched the three departing figures, his eyes coldly gleaming as he snorted:
"The Sword Master's escort is nothing special, it's just disturbing my cultivation!"
The two men, pulling the nearly unconscious Li Sisui along, ran for an unknown distance until they reached a secluded cave before stopping.
They exchanged a glance, a bitter look on their faces, and a hint of pity crossed their eyes as they looked at Li Sisui. One of them said:
"Get him something to eat first. That slap you gave him was no light one; it almost killed him. This is the first new face to see him in years!"
"In my haste, I lost my composure and completely forgot about his physical weakness!"
"Luckily you reacted quickly, otherwise this kid might have lost his life today, and we might have been caught in the crossfire as well."
The two of them chatted back and forth, looking as if they had just survived a disaster.
Li Sisui finally recovered from the slap and looked at the two people in front of him, but didn't know how to speak.
He looked extremely cautious, as if afraid of saying something wrong again.
Seeing Li Sisui's appearance, the two couldn't help but burst out laughing.
“There aren’t many rules when talking to us; we’re all the same. Eat something first, rest here, and we’ll make some arrangements. We’ll come back to find you tomorrow. Remember to stay here and don’t wander off. If anything goes wrong again, neither of us can save you!”
After saying this, they placed some plant leaves in front of Li Sisui, and then the two got up and left.
Li Sisui haphazardly stuffed the unknown plant in front of him into his mouth and chewed it vigorously.
The food didn't taste as bad as it looked, and I finished it off in no time.
Then I leaned against the wall and dozed off, finally feeling a little more at ease.
Anyway, we've finally settled down. As for what will happen tomorrow, we'll find out tomorrow.
Li Sisui was in a daze and didn't know how long he had slept.
In my dreams, I always feel someone whispering in my ear, but I don't know what they are saying.
No matter how hard I tried, I could hardly hear even half a word. It was as if I were in endless darkness, feeling lonely and desperate.
Wandering aimlessly in the endless darkness, on the verge of collapse.
When Li Sisui woke up again, it was already evening three days later. This sleep felt like an eternity.
After getting up, I saw some unidentified plants beside me, which I guessed were food that my tribesmen had brought me earlier.
He casually stuffed it into his mouth and began to chew it heartily, glancing around as he ate.
The cave was pitch black, with no signs of human excavation; the only light came from the entrance.
Li Sisui got up and walked to the cave entrance, only to find that the two clansmen who had settled him were already waiting there.
However, the two sat upright, eyes closed in deep thought, seemingly engaged in some unknown activity.
Li Sisui hesitated for a moment, wondering whether to wake him up. Recalling all that had happened before, Li Sisui decided to wait patiently.
As if sensing each other, the two opened their eyes one after the other after only a few minutes, and their gazes toward Li Sisui were filled with a burning passion.
