Chapter 27 Killing Formation

Geng Qi put away the phoenix kite and retreated outside the battle circle, watching the battle empty-handed.

Qing Han was a capable fighter, easily able to deal with a demonic beast. However, his violent approach seemed somewhat out of place amidst the exquisite sword techniques of other cultivators.

Rong Yu stopped what he was doing, walked behind him, and saw him yawning again. He frowned and asked, "Tired?"

Geng Qi turned his head and said, "Hmm, it's okay, I won't fall asleep now."

"..."

Rong Yu remained silent, then stepped forward and leaned against him from behind.

Geng Qi was slightly taken aback. He turned around and saw that Geng Qi looked nonchalant. Remembering that he had saved Geng Qi before, he leaned against him with a clear conscience.

People crave comfort, and when they are tired, they will feel sleepy if they stay in a comfortable place. This is true for ordinary people, so it was even more difficult for Geng Qi to resist.

It was just the nature of the situation that forced him to endure the exhaustion, no matter how tired he was.

The people of Yandan Sect originally intended to use the demon beast to frame the Demon Realm, but Rong Yu, who now knows the inside story, has not been silenced by them. His own identity is also a hidden danger. With the two sides in a standoff, the outcome is uncertain.

After giving the puppet orders, Yan Zhihe disappeared without a trace. It's likely that Rong Yu crippled his legs. Given his current hatred for Rong Yu, he certainly won't let them off the hook. However, even though the demon beasts have been almost completely wiped out, they still haven't come forward to accuse him.

Geng Qi leaned back comfortably and picked up something to eat. The smell of blood did not affect his appetite at all.

His gaze searched for Qing Han's figure, and he was suddenly stunned. On the largest spirit rhinoceros beast, Qing Han was holding onto its head by the rhinoceros horn. The beast was injured and more ferocious than usual, frantically shaking its head to try to shake the person off. Under the violent shaking, all that could be seen was a white figure swaying back and forth in a fan shape.

To Geng Qi's surprise, as the white-robed youth swayed uncontrollably, a scorpion, no bigger than the palm of his hand, emerged from his sleeve. Its jade-white shell blended seamlessly with the youth's white clothes. It silently slid down from the sleeve and landed on the head of the spirit rhinoceros beast, extending its greenish-blue stinger and piercing the beast's supposedly indestructible shell. The spirit rhinoceros beast's swaying intensified again, its shell pierced by the stinger. The scorpion retreated immediately after the attack and scurried back into the sleeve. Qing Han then delivered another heavy punch to the spirit rhinoceros beast's head, using the force to push back and land on the ground.

Geng Qi was startled and shoved the item into Rong Yu's hand: "Take it!"

When he looked up, he was already heading towards the Spirit Rhinoceros Beast. Qing Han had basically taken down the beast, and its huge body was swaying more and more slowly, and its roars were getting weaker and weaker.

Seeing that the monster was about to fall, Geng Qi reacted quickly, jumped up, grabbed Qing Han, and left.

Rong Yu watched as the two people disappeared behind a rock at a speed barely visible to the naked eye. The warmth of their embrace was still there, but they were gone. He held the snacks that the two had given him and popped one into his mouth.

He couldn't taste what it was; it had a delicate fragrance, a hint of bitterness, but mostly sweetness.

Behind the giant rock, Geng Qi pulled Qing Han to hide him before blurting out, "Ancestor, why did you bring him here?"

Qinghan asked, "What?"

"Still pretending? Where's Xie Beiying?"

"..." Qinghan instinctively clutched his wide sleeves and took a half step back: "He...he's not in good health."

"You're not feeling well, yet you brought him out?" Geng Qi was furious. "You! Let him out!"

Qinghan took another half step back.

Just as Geng Qi was about to snatch it, a piece of something scorpion-like poked at the fabric from the covered sleeve. Qing Han hesitated and let go, letting the fair head peek out.

A wisp of smoke drifted by, and a pair of hands landed on Qinghan's shoulders. The person who suddenly appeared was half a head taller than him, and said with a smile, "Is he glaring at me? I get scared easily."

"..."

Geng Qi suddenly regretted letting him out.

Jie Beiying was dressed in white, just like Qing Han, except that the cuffs and hem of her clothes were greenish-blue, as if shrouded in mist.

His face wasn't very clear under the night sky, but his empty eyes were particularly noticeable.

The two were stacked one on top of the other. Qinghan looked at him with a mixture of wariness and pleading, appearing harmless. The other man had lifeless eyes staring at something, a faint smile on his lips, and a sickly face that made him look like a frail scholar.

Who would have thought that an innocent-looking boy could fight monsters with his bare hands? And who would have thought that a sickly, frail scholar could use poison to instantly subdue a behemoth like the Spirit Rhinoceros Beast?

Looking at the two people in front of him who looked like conjoined twins, Geng Qi suppressed the urge to facepalm and said, "Qing Han, go out and help."

Qinghan said urgently, "He's not well, you...you mustn't hit him..."

Geng Qi: "If you don't get out of here, I'll beat you up!"

"You...can't beat me."

"..."

Geng Qi was so angry he laughed. He knew he was no match for Qing Han in a hand-to-hand fight, so he lit a fire in his hand and smiled at him slightly: "Want some roasted scorpions?"

"No...I won't eat it. I'm going out. Don't grill it."

"..."

Qing Han walked around the boulder, looking back every few steps, and Geng Qi's fire instantly went out, his face darkening.

Jie Beiying still had that same calm and composed smile. Geng Qi's assessment of him was summed up in six words: a smiling tiger with a needle hidden in cotton!

With a slight sigh, Geng Qi lowered his voice and asked, "Did you kill the people sent by the Yan Dan Sect to Ge Feng Town?"

Jie Beiying said, "Yes."

"You didn't tell him?"

"Um."

"..."

No wonder Qinghan said there was no unusual activity in Gefeng Town; everyone had taken care of things behind his back!
