Chapter 27 Killing Formation

The newcomer was dressed in white, unarmed, and looked like a handsome young man. It was none other than Qing Han, whom he hadn't seen for many days. As the saying goes, he was as still as a virgin, and as swift as... Geng Qi didn't know how to describe his violent aesthetics.

At this moment, Su Mo'er, who had been dragged out by the neck by her master uncle who didn't know how to cherish women, straightened her clothes and stepped forward, saying, "Young master? Aren't you and Qinghan brothers?"

Geng Qi: "..."

Qing Han politely cupped his hands to Rong Yu and Su Mo'er, then took out a letter from his bosom and handed it to Geng Qi, saying, "The news from Mu Shan is that the major sects have been sending people to Yan Dan Sect one after another. I waited in the town for several days but did not find anything unusual. I was worried that something might have happened to you, so I came here first."

"Didn't you detect anything unusual? You didn't encounter anyone from the Yan Dan Sect?"

Qinghan shook her head: "No."

"..."

How did the three elders sent by the Yandan Sect to Gefeng Town die?

When they heard someone report to Yang Tianhui in the Bone Rock Cave, their expressions of shock and surprise seemed genuine.

After thinking for a moment, he asked again, "How did you get in?"

Qinghan said, "It flew in."

"..."

Seeing his confusion, Rong Yu explained, "The Nine Heavens Ambush Formation is only for internal use, not external use; one can enter but not exit."

People who want to come in to die will not be stopped.

As he was pondering this, a commotion erupted around him. The group of people Qing Han had knocked down from the sky were struggling to their feet. He couldn't help but twitch his lips. Given Qing Han's cowardly nature—his reluctance to kill when beating people—it was truly unimaginable that he could destroy people, soul and all. Perhaps those three elders really weren't killed by him.

The four were surrounded again, and more people from the Yandan Sect arrived. When they saw Yang Tianhui, who was in charge, Geng Qi quickly dragged Yang Wei over and said with his head held high, "Can we not fight? Your son is in our hands!"

Yang Tianhui's pupils contracted slightly. Before he could speak, he struck with lightning. Geng Qi nimbly dodged, and Yan Zhihe, who arrived a step later, frowned and said, "A traitor who eats one's own flesh is useless to keep alive."

Yang Tianhui said, "Sect Master..."

You love your own son, but if you don't have enough power, no one will love him.

Interrupted by Yan Zhihe, Yang Tianhui didn't say anything more, gave Yang Wei a sorrowful look, and then looked away.

Geng Qi laughed and threw the person back: "Looks like your life isn't worth much."

Yang Wei: "..."

With an ambush formation outside and demonized puppets inside, this would be a dead end for an ordinary person.

Geng Qi took out a mint and popped it into his mouth, feeling a bit more refreshed. He turned to Qing Han and asked, "You said people from other sects came too? Where are they?"

"We haven't arrived here yet."

The message from Mushan was likely correct. Qinghan arrived here quickly after receiving the message, though not much faster than the others.

He frowned and asked, "Why would people from other sects send someone here?"

Qing Han said, "It is said that they received a letter from Yan Dan Sect requesting help."

"A cry for help?" What are they asking for help with?

Before he could figure it out, Yan Zhihe, who was standing in the air above, suddenly spoke up: "The young sect leader seems to be very interested in the caves and secret chambers within my sect."

A gentle smile graced his face as he looked up, and for some reason, he felt a sense of unease. Geng Qi glanced at the group of puppets chasing after him from the cave. This was only one passage; there were four other passages. What were imprisoned inside?

"Since the young sect leader is so thoughtful, then this old man will satisfy your curiosity!"

With a cold snort filled with extreme hostility, the mountains and earth suddenly shook. The Yan Dan Sect disciples who had been surrounding them changed direction in mid-air and attacked the cave they had just escaped from. The cave entrance collapsed, and spiritual light flashed through the cracks, as if an invisible seal was being broken.

The puppets, which hadn't moved since they emerged from the cave, suddenly went berserk, charging at them with bloodshot eyes. Geng Qi hastily pulled the female protagonist behind him, grabbed his long whip, and flung one of the puppets away. After a violent tremor, the puppet crashed into the stone wall, its head exploding, and it died.

Su Mo'er bit her lip, still shaken. The puppets here were far stronger than she could handle; she couldn't defeat even one, let alone so many. Fortunately, she was agile and, despite her low spiritual power, she was highly flexible, managing to dodge the puppets' attacks.

Yang Wei was even more relaxed, as these puppets wouldn't attack the Yan Dan Sect members at all!

Rong Yu, who was more than capable of dealing with the puppets, even had the leisure to observe the movements in the cave. Geng Qi leaned over and asked, "What did you hear?"

He still remembered that Yan Dan Sect had asked other sects for help. They were trying to avoid other sects with what they were doing, so why would they deliberately notify them? The only possibility was that there was something in that cave that could help them persuade other sects to believe them.

Rong Yu said with a solemn expression, "There is a demonic beast."

"A demonic beast?"

As soon as he finished speaking, a piece suddenly bulged out from the collapsed cave, the rubble was shaken apart, revealing an extremely strange head. Then the entire body emerged, neither bird nor tiger, with wings, a protruding skull, a single eye and a rhinoceros horn, more than ten feet tall, and a foot thicker than an elephant. It stomped on the ground, knocking over several puppets, and at the same time attacked the disciples of the Yan Dan Sect nearby, launching an almost indiscriminate attack.

“The Spirit Rhinoceros Beast!” Qing Han blurted out.

Geng Qi felt a sharp pain between his brows. A Spirit Rhinoceros Beast?! Where was the spirit in this thing? It was an insult to the very word "spirit rhinoceros"!

He secretly grumbled, yet he had no choice but to be wary.

The appearance of the Spirit Rhinoceros Beast was just the beginning. Other things emerged from the ruins one after another, all of them were demonic beasts or monsters that only appeared in the Demon Realm. He suddenly understood the purpose of the Yan Dan Sect's request for help from other sects!
