Chapter 38 Master and Disciple

The grip loosened slightly, and the man turned to leave, but Geng Qi quickly grabbed him: "Master, how should this disciple cultivate?"

Rong Yu: "..."

He glanced at his tightly gripped hand and said as calmly as possible, "I'll tell you the details when I get back."

"Wherever Master goes, this disciple will follow!"

"Go see your grandmaster."

Geng Qi: "..."

He had completely forgotten that there was someone living on Shangxu Peak.

The sect leader of Tianzhi Sect, one of the few survivors of the great calamity at Kaopan Mountain a hundred years ago, felt timid at the thought of seeing that person. He released her hand and obediently said, "Then Master, please go and return as soon as possible."

The sudden loss of warmth in his hand left Rong Yu feeling a sense of loss. He had originally planned to inform the sect leader and then confront this person, but now it seemed that if his identity were revealed, this person, being a venerable figure in the Demon Realm, would probably not be able to bear the shame of sticking to him like this, nor would he be so close to him.

Master and apprentice? That doesn't seem bad.

He couldn't help but curl his lips into a smile, gave a soft reply, and disappeared into Chaofeng Pavilion.

Geng Qi was wondering if his refusal to see his master would make him seem disrespectful to his teacher when he saw the person in front of him disappear into the air. He could only watch him leave until the silver light disappeared from sight before he stepped through the archway and entered the inner courtyard.

The inner courtyard was the living quarters, with green walls and jade tiles. Scattered ginkgo leaves drifted in from the outer courtyard. Geng Qi quickly walked up the steps and went inside. The furnishings were all made of the finest materials. There was a square round stool next to a Suzuki table, and a bookshelf and a desk in the corner. The Four Treasures of the Study were all there. The bed in the inner room was a spirit jade bed that gathered spiritual energy. Stepping into the room, one felt comfortable.

Geng Qi sat down at the table. Logically speaking, no one lived here, and there wasn't even a servant on Shangxu Peak. He thought he would have to clean it himself, but when he raised his hand to wipe it, it was spotless, as if someone had deliberately cleaned it.

Who else but the young sect leader could clean the courtyard on Shangxu Peak?

Although it was just a small matter for him, the thought that this was the effort he had put into his new disciple made Geng Qi feel jealous again!

Why don't we just lay it all out on the table!

Thinking this, he quickly shook his head again.

If that person knew his identity, he would probably use the entire clan's power to kick him out!

Let's keep it a secret for a while longer!

Having made his decision, he glanced at the bed in the inner room, yawned, flopped onto the bed, tilted his head back, and fell asleep.

Outside Yanluo Cave on the edge of Shangxu Peak, near the precipice, overlooking the entire sect.

The sect leader of Tianzhi Sect is already a saint, and he has been in seclusion for many years, not caring about worldly affairs. Standing in front of the cliff, he is dressed in white with white hair and looks down the mountain. He said, "Now that you have made a decision, you must teach him well. Although the sect rules were set by our ancestors, you don't have to follow them in everything. As long as it does not harm the sect and you are not ashamed of your own actions, that is enough."

Yan Lie stood with his hands behind his back, his expression unchanged for a century.

His response was expected. Rong Yu acted on his own initiative, making decisions first and reporting later, because he knew that the sect leader would not make things difficult for him because of these matters.

After reporting some trivial matters down the mountain, he returned to Chaofeng Pavilion. The person there was fast asleep, and his steady breathing could be heard clearly from outside the door. He lingered in the courtyard for a while, but ultimately did not step inside.

Sunrise and sunset seemed to be Geng Qi's sleep cycle. Inside Qingyou Pavilion, Rong Yu sat alone in the bamboo forest, with a square table, a jade plate, and a pot of tea. Moonlight shone down, creating a tranquil and serene atmosphere.

He was intently studying the crisscrossing black and white chess pieces on the board when he suddenly heard movement outside the bamboo grove, light footsteps. A thought struck him, and he slightly raised his head.

A figure darted out from between two green bamboo stalks along the winding forest path. Wearing only a thin undershirt, she ran barefoot to him, her smooth, white ankles exposed, her cute toes twitching as if afraid of the cold.

Even though he knew this person wouldn't feel the cold at all, Rong Yu couldn't help but feel a jolt in his heart and frowned slightly, asking, "Why did you run out like this?"

Geng Qi feigned fear and clenched his hands tightly: "Master... I, I'm afraid of the dark."

Rong Yu: "..."

Would someone who ventures alone into Yandan Gate at night be afraid of the dark?

He was secretly surprised, but showed no sign of it on his face.

Geng Qi assumed he was stunned and added, "I dare not, I sleep alone."

"..." Who was that person who was sleeping soundly in Chaofeng Pavilion just now?

Geng Qi had no idea that he had already been to Chaofeng Pavilion. When he woke up, he saw that it was already dark and his cheap master had not returned. Fearing that his master had abandoned him at Chaofeng Pavilion, he came looking for him himself.

Seeing Rong Yu's expression, which clearly showed some surprise, he couldn't help but feel secretly delighted.

The master-disciple relationship is determined by the person himself. If the fellow disciples are not familiar with each other, he would not dare to shamelessly stick to them. The master-disciple relationship is different. The disciple can act coquettishly!

He hunched his neck pitifully, seemingly afraid of the cold. Rong Yu stood there awkwardly for a while, then got up and went to get an outer robe to put on him: "Be careful not to catch a cold."

Geng Qi smiled with relief, his upturned lips looking smug no matter how you looked at it.
