Chapter 4 Suspicious Points

Yuan Xin stared intently at him, her gaze as if she were looking at a... lecherous man!

Geng Qi is innocent.

He only looked at it for a little while longer!

He coughed awkwardly and asked, "Is there something you need?"

Yuan Xin asked, "Did you find the body?"

Geng Qi glanced at Qing Han: "Yes."

"Then let me ask you, did you see anything suspicious at the time?"

Qinghan thought for a moment and honestly replied, "No."

Yuan Xin frowned: "Nothing at all?"

Qinghan shook his head.

When he arrived at the alley, there was indeed nothing around except a corpse.

"Did you hear any sounds? Like... the sound of wings flapping?"

Qinghan wanted to shake his head again, but Gengqi waved his hand and said, "This couldn't have been done by Guhuo Ghost. We were on the roof at the time, and we didn't see a single ghost."

Yuan Xin felt a pang of disappointment and was about to turn around when she suddenly realized something and turned back sharply, asking, "What are you doing on the roof so late?"

The man's tone was accusatory. Geng Qi turned his head, but before he could explain, the man glared at him angrily and cursed, "You lecherous scoundrel!"

Geng Qi: "..."

As she spoke, she moved away from them with a look of disgust: "If there's nothing urgent, you two gentlemen should leave as soon as possible."

"No way!" Geng Qi said firmly, "I can't leave until the matter is investigated. I only have one younger brother, and I can't let you wrong him for nothing!"

Yuan Xin was furious: "Who wronged you?"

Just then, someone walked over, and Geng Qi pointed at him casually: "Him!"

It was Yang Tianhui.

Having overheard their conversation, Yang Tianhui looked up at Geng Qi, but only glanced at him, snorted, and walked away with an air of superiority.

The truth is clear: these two are far stronger than them. They could kill a Qi Refining stage cultivator without anyone noticing.

Despite the misunderstanding, he absolutely refused to apologize to the two of them.

Geng Qi stopped him and asked, "When did you and your young master separate?"

Yang Tianhui turned around and hesitated before saying, "We parted ways after leaving the Crescent Moon Pavilion."

Because the disciples of Tianzhi Sect acted in several groups, they did not know Rong Yu's location, so they split up to search for him. The main reason for sending people to the town this time was that they heard that the eldest disciple of Tianzhi Sect would be coming, so Yandan Sect began to pay attention to the matter of Guhuo Ghost.

The news has been relayed back to the sect, and elders will arrive within two days.

Geng Qi lowered his head and pondered for a while, then asked, "Is there anyone else with him?"

Yang Tianhui shook his head again.

"..." The clues have gone cold again.

Yang Wei couldn't have walked into a dead end without a reason. Who led him in? And why did they lead him into the alley? What was the purpose of killing him?

If he was trying to collect souls like the people here, why was he the only one not burned to a crisp?

"Could it be that your young master Yang got into some romantic entanglement and is being retaliated against?" Geng Qi suddenly glared at Yang Tianhui.

The person, whose thoughts had just been guided by his questions, immediately retorted, "You...you're spouting nonsense!"

Geng Qi smiled helplessly.

He was just joking. The people from Yandan Sect only arrived in town today. With Yang Wei's cultivation level, he could only provoke a few ordinary girls. They would never have the ability to take his soul.

He squatted down and looked at Yang Wei's corpse again. He didn't know what kind of magic treasure the Yan Dan Sect had used to protect his body from decay. But without his soul, what use was it to bring his body back to the sect?

Just as he was sighing inwardly, a figure appeared beside him: "Young masters, please."

Looking up, he saw Yuan Xin, the one who had previously ordered him to leave.

She looked somewhat uncomfortable and frowned as she said, "Grandmaster Uncle is kind enough to have reserved two rooms for you. Why don't you get up now!"

Geng Qi then looked at the person standing not far away. As he approached the gate of the mansion, the candlelight inside did not reach him. The moonlight poured down from the sky, making him appear even more elegant and otherworldly. Even the corpses scattered on the ground could not affect him in the slightest.

Perhaps his gaze lingered for too long, for the man seemed to sense it and looked over. Geng Qi was startled, then snapped back to reality: "Then let's go!"

Without the slightest hint of humility, Yuan Xin's face darkened even further.

There weren't many rooms in the village head's residence. The dozen or so disciples of the Tianzhi Sect had to squeeze in to sleep, but these two took up two rooms and agreed so readily!

She was indignant at the words given by her grandmaster, but dared not say anything more, and led her people to the side room in the backyard.

Rong Yu watched as two figures, one in red and one in white, entered the backyard. He slowly withdrew his gaze, instructed the disciples to record the identities of all the corpses and the times of their deaths, and to arrange for their burial the next day. Only after making these arrangements did he turn and leave.

The bright moon hung high in the sky. Dressed in a moon-white robe, he walked into the backyard and almost blended into the moonlight. When he reached his room, he was about to push open the door, but his gaze involuntarily drifted to the next room. The candlelight inside was dim, so it must have been extinguished.

He placed his hand on the door frame, pushed the door open, and was stunned the moment he looked up.

There was already someone standing in his room.

A splash of red caught the eye. The person stood in front of a carved screen, wearing only a pair of underpants and half-undressed, revealing a large expanse of fair and slender chest. His long black hair hung loose, with half-dry strands sticking to his neck and dripping water from the ends. The person tilted his head to the side, his face showing a hint of shock, and his hands seemed frozen in place.

Geng Qi was indeed somewhat stiff the moment the person pushed open the door.

Rong Yu stepped one foot through the door, leaving the other foot outside. After a moment of astonishment, a blush spread from below his neck to his face.

He remained calm, lowered his head, and said, "Excuse me."

He stepped back and gently knocked the door shut.

It took Geng Qi a while to come to his senses. He quickly tore off his clothes, put them on, and tidied himself up before running over to open the door.

The person was still standing under the eaves.

"Excuse me, um... there's no shower room next door, so I'm using your room."

That was said rather cautiously.

It was hot, and he had spent the whole night dealing with corpses, so he wanted to take a bath. He asked the servants of the village headman's office, who said that only the main room in this area had a bathhouse. Thinking that everyone in the room was a man and that the man would be back in a while, he decided to use it first.

It was indeed his rudeness that he forgot to inform the person beforehand; he hadn't expected the person to return so early, resulting in an awkward situation.

Rong Yu lowered his eyes and said without raising his head, "It's alright, get some rest."

After saying that, he turned and went back to his room.

Geng Qi: "..."

His tone remained cool and indifferent, revealing no emotion whatsoever.

But her face was as red as a tomato!

Geng Qi thought to himself, "So what if two grown men saw it? What's there to be ashamed of?"

Besides, shouldn't he be the one who's ashamed?

Those who practice asceticism are just being pretentious!

Another disciple of the Tianzhi Sect walked in through the circular archway. He shook his head and carelessly went back to his room.
