Geng Qi frowned slightly: "Feng Yuan, go back."
He raised his hand to retract the bone whip, but the usually docile and obedient whip avoided his hand and quickly wrapped around his wrist.
"What's wrong with you?" Geng Qi looked around. "There's no danger here, you don't need to go. Go back!"
Feng Yuan released him again, flew to the barrier to the side, and gently touched it.
"You can't go in here."
Although he wanted to go in—people are always curious—if he didn't go back soon, Rong Yu would be back.
He glanced back again and waved disapprovingly at Feng Yuan: "Let's go."
Feng Yuan didn't move. Taking advantage of his unpreparedness, she passed through the barrier and slipped inside.
"..." Before Geng Qi could speak, the golden bone whip had already crossed the barrier and reached the other side.
He couldn't help but widen his eyes slightly.
Does this restriction not apply to magical artifacts?
But he can't get in!
Watching the golden whip twist and turn on the other side of the barrier, Geng Qi was speechless. "Feng Yuan, come back quickly... Holy crap!"
In his panic, he blurted out the words, and Geng Qi's pupils contracted.
With a flick of the whip's tail, the bone whip on the other side flashed with golden light and disappeared into the distance!
He angrily slapped the barrier, but then suddenly stopped himself from uttering the words of rebuke.
Feng Yuan had never been so disobedient before. Usually, as long as he glared at it, this guy would come up to him pitifully to please him. He had never seen it so stubborn before!
Could there really be something inside this restriction?
Even if it does exist, it belongs to someone else!
He came here for a barbecue, not to search for treasure!
Geng Qi glanced back at the direction of Qingyou Pavilion, then took out a jade pendant from his storage bracelet. This was given to him by Rong Yuxin after he came to Shangxu Peak. It seemed to be his own jade pendant. With the idea of giving it a try, he placed the jade pendant against the barrier. After a burst of spiritual energy, the barrier dissipated.
"..."
He just wanted to find Feng Yuan, and he absolutely wouldn't touch anything he shouldn't!
After comforting himself, he stepped into the restricted area and headed towards Feng Yuan's location.
Feng Yuan was like a part of his body. He could know which direction it was without having to use his divine sense to search. He walked a long distance along the way and felt that he was very close, but he still couldn't see anything.
"Phoenix Kite?"
He called out, but there was no response.
The surroundings were quiet; even the birdsong was gone. The wind rustled, and fallen leaves drifted by, creating an eerie stillness.
"If you don't come out, I'm leaving..."
Before he finished speaking, a golden whip appeared about ten feet in front of him.
Geng Qi: "..."
It only surfaced for a moment before burrowing back into the ground.
"Hello!"
Feeling helpless, I had no choice but to follow.
You have to spoil your own pet, no matter how naughty it is.
He lifted his foot and walked towards where Feng Yuan was peeking out. He had only taken two steps when he sensed something was wrong. He subconsciously looked down and felt a surge of spiritual energy beneath his feet. It was as if he had stepped into thin air, and he plummeted straight down.
"Ugh—"
He instinctively reached out to grab something, but the green vines and grass he saw with his naked eye instantly turned into an illusion. His hands grasped nothing, and he thought he had fallen into some abyss. He subconsciously closed his eyes, and suddenly his back shook, and he had landed safely on the ground.
Teleportation array?
These words popped into his mind, and Geng Qi slowly opened his eyes. A golden light came into view, and Feng Yuan waved her whip tail in front of him. When she saw that he was awake, the golden light around her intensified.
"..."
Geng Qi ignored it, got up and looked around. It was pitch black, and he had no idea where he was.
Is anyone there?
"..."
The expected emptiness.
Geng Qi turned to walk back, but Feng Yuan's whip trembled and quickly wrapped around him, pulling him sharply in another direction.
Caught off guard, Geng Qi was pulled and stumbled.
Where are we going?
Knowing that he couldn't leave without seeing what he wanted to see, Geng Qi compromised and let the golden whip pull him step by step inside.
The golden light illuminated the space he was in, allowing him to barely see his surroundings. The walls, made entirely of spirit stones, were smooth and flawless, casting his shadow everywhere. Geng Qi considered himself quite brave, but the further he went in, the more apprehensive he became.
Suddenly a face appeared in front of him, and his heart skipped a beat. He stopped abruptly.
When Feng Yuan saw him stop, she wrapped her arm around his arm again.
Geng Qi then took two more steps forward, and a second face appeared on the wall.
His face was withered, his eyebrows and beard were white, and his eyes were closed, as if he were sleeping peacefully.
Several images flashed through his mind unexpectedly, and a sharp pain shot through his head. Geng Qi couldn't help but shake his head vigorously.
He slightly raised his fingertips, condensing a few wisps of flame that scattered across the stone wall. The figures embedded in the spirit stones, each dressed in green with white hair, had different faces, but the tiny scars on their bodies were all identical.
As if something was pressing down on his heart, Geng Qi's pupils contracted slightly. He recognized the figures sealed within the spirit stone walls.
More than ten elders of the Tianzhi Sect were struck by lightning and burned to death by fire on Mount Kaopan a hundred years ago!
The body was sealed here; no wonder it was designated a forbidden area.
Why did Feng Yuan bring him here?
The pulling force on his hands increased, so he had no choice but to put away the purple fire and continue forward.
After passing through a secret passage filled with more than a dozen corpses, Geng Qi remained expressionless. Finally, after walking a certain distance, Feng Yuan released him and nimbly darted ahead, excitedly circling around a certain spot.
Helpless, Geng Qi rekindled the fire and moved closer to the golden light.
Unexpectedly, as soon as he took a step closer, a dull pain shot through his chest, his fingers trembled slightly, and the flame went out instantly.
