"Shut up!"
The words came from Geng Qi's mouth. He subconsciously tried to stop him, but a gust of wind swept across, slicing through the Second Prince's cheek and severing his sideburns.
Everyone was horrified. The Second Prince felt as if he had fallen into an ice cave and could no longer speak!
Whether his and Rong Yu's affairs are good or bad, it's their business, and no one else is allowed to get away with it!
Rong Yu witnessed his actions. With such methods, killing him would have been easy, yet he had patiently stayed by his side, scheming to leave Rong Yu with nothing.
It turns out, it was all just his delusion.
"So you hate me that much?" He chuckled foolishly.
Geng Qi's throat tightened, and his heart ached.
Rong Yu's lips curled slightly, his eyes filled with self-mockery. Suddenly, tears seemed to flash across his eyes again. He tilted his head back and laughed, then laughed louder and louder, his voice desolate and sorrowful, making the listener's heart ache.
Geng Qi involuntarily reached out to touch him, but was suddenly flung away, causing him to stagger backward and almost lose his balance.
"But everything I've done is for you!"
As if venting his anger, he suddenly roared, unleashing a powerful burst of internal energy that caused everyone to cover their ears and back away.
Geng Qi didn't. He stood there, stunned, not even retracting his hand.
Rong Yu had never treated him like this before. Even when he first arrived here and chained him to the bed, he had never been this cold to him.
He looked at himself, his eyes filled with heartbreaking emotion.
Geng Qi heard him say, "I clearly... I only have you left..."
In order to be with the person he loved, he defied his father, harmed his brothers, and implicated innocent people. How many people did he harm?
He has been abandoned by everyone!
Now even the only person he cherished, the only beautiful thing he had, had become an illusion!
If Geng Qi knew what he was thinking, he would definitely yell at him: This is an illusion!
But now he could only timidly ask the system, "Will this really wake him up?"
"If I can't, I'll just leave you here."
As the atmosphere reached a stalemate, the sound of someone banging on the door suddenly rang out. The Second Prince was startled and immediately said, "Make your move!"
The Imperial Guards sealed off the Prince's residence. If they were his own people, they wouldn't force their way in. To prevent any unforeseen events, he only wanted to kill the Crown Prince as soon as possible.
The excuse that Zhan Wang went mad from his cultivation was perfect!
The imperial guards set up their crossbows, aiming the arrows at the person in the middle dressed in fine clothes. Geng Qi was only three feet away from him, but he couldn't reach out.
Rong Yu stared at him intently, wanting to pull him along, but ultimately couldn't bear to.
I want to lock him up again and not let him go no matter how much he begs for mercy!
But do I still have the ability to trap him and protect him now?
It's not difficult to seize power and usurp the throne, nor is it difficult to regain control. But what use are these things if the person who wants them can't have them?
Humans are indeed greedy. At first, they plotted to imprison people, thinking that as long as the people were by their side, they would be satisfied. Later, they tasted the sweetness and felt the sincerity of the person, and were then thrown into the abyss. They would never be satisfied with returning to the beginning.
Arrows rained down, and several dark figures swiftly darted in from outside the high walls of the Prince's mansion, firmly protecting Rong Yu and blocking the hail of arrows, engaging in a fierce battle with the Imperial Guards.
Amidst the glint of swords and the clash of blades, the two figures remained unmoved.
Seeing that the gates of the mansion were about to be smashed open, the Second Prince lost his patience, drew his bow and aimed at the person standing in the midst of the chaotic battle.
"Your Highness!"
"Your Highness!"
"..."
Rong Yu could have dodged, but he seemed to have forgotten where he was, standing motionless. The arrow cut through the wind, heading straight for his throat. A red shadow seemed to flash before his eyes, and with a muffled thud, everything froze.
It wasn't until a sharp pain shot through his chest that Geng Qi realized what he had done.
He blocked the arrow that he could have easily broken with the most foolish method.
He shielded Rong Yu with his own body, taking the arrow for him.
The shouts of battle ceased, the wind howled, a metallic taste filled his throat, and he coughed up a mouthful of blood.
Warm liquid fell onto Rong Yu's face, and intense pain filled the blankness in his mind. His pupils contracted little by little, and he instinctively reached out to catch the person who had fallen in front of him.
He thought he was numb from the pain until the person in his arms let out a muffled groan, and he felt the real pain of suffocation!
"Long...long memory?"
He murmured a call, his hand, which was pressed against his back, was sticky with the blood of that person—the one who deceived him, the one who hated him, the one who plotted against him…the one he loved!
Geng Qi frowned, forcing a smile, and reached out to stroke Rong Yu's face: "I...I'm sorry, I..."
The words were cut short, drowned out by the blood gushing from his throat.
His consciousness gradually faded, and he fell backward in Rong Yu's arms. Suddenly, he heard a roar that shattered the sky, and the sky was indeed shattered!
Geng Qi watched as the sky shattered like glass, and closed his eyes contentedly.
His mind was heavy and confused. He didn't know how much time had passed before he struggled to open his eyes. His vision gradually focused, and before him was an infinitely magnified face, so close that it didn't press down on him.
That gaze was too complex and too oppressive. Geng Qi involuntarily swallowed and stammered, "Good morning."
The cave was so dark that I didn't know if it was morning or not.
Rong Yu remained silent. Geng Qi glanced at him and asked, "How come you woke up before me... um..."
Before he could finish speaking, the other person pressed their lips against his, prying open his teeth without hesitation, forcibly taking what was there, as if confirming something, or as if wanting to possess something.
Geng Qi didn't resist at all. Afraid that he would get tired from supporting his body, he pulled him down and kissed him closely. They kissed and rubbed against each other, their lips and tongues were sucked until they were numb and his breathing became increasingly unsteady.
