Chapter 143 Heian Period IX

Following the movements of Yuki-onna and Ōtengu, Izumi set up a barrier in the air to weaken Ōtengu's demonic power.

"Despicable scoundrel!"

The Great Tengu snorted coldly, grabbed the Snow Woman's arm with one hand, and a chill ran through him. He quickly let go.

"Again!"

Black feathers and blue ice flowers fluttered in the sky, and the sky had been tinged with gray, as if a mountain rain was about to fall.

"call--"

A fierce wind swept into the valley from all directions, while the epic battle on the mountaintop continued.

Seeing the two locked in a fierce battle, Quan felt a surge of pride. His daughter was amazing! Maybe they could actually drag this tengu away!

Meanwhile, on a nearby rocky hill, a purple figure lay lazily on the ground, gazing at the sky and chuckling softly:

"The wind is a bit noisy today, what's going on over there? Hehe~ I'm getting interested, let's go out hunting~"

The purple figure moved towards the barren mountain amidst thick white fog.

At this moment in the valley, both the Snow Woman and the Great Tengu were injured, with the Great Tengu showing the most obvious weakness, as his wings had fallen off...

Are you going to keep dragging this out?

The Great Tengu looked slightly tired.

"You should admit defeat."

The snow woman's demonic power landed on the great tengu, freezing his wings. However, due to her poor defense, she was also hit by the great tengu's wind and fell to the ground.

"ah--!"

She cried out in surprise, the blue light dissipated, and her slender body gradually shrank, only to return to its exquisitely beautiful form a few seconds later, looking incredibly adorable.

Little Snow Woman sat quietly on the ground, her face expressionless. Izumi took out a healing potion and placed it in front of her.

"How did I lose?" Little Snow Woman suddenly covered her face and said, her melodious voice making Great Tengu, who was also on the ground, momentarily lose his senses.

Quan was stunned and stared blankly at her.

"What's wrong, daughter?"

Little Snow Woman looked up at her, a hint of determination flashing in her calm, unwavering eyes.

"It's decided, I'm staying until I defeat him!" she said, pointing to the Great Tengu behind Izumi.

Izumi's smile froze, and he turned around to "look" at the Great Tengu in disbelief.

Daitengu: "..."

What does it mean that this woman is giving me a fierce look? I don't think I've done anything to offend her, have I?

Quan's heart was churning with emotions, and he felt utterly frustrated looking at the handsome Ōtengu.

This guy just agreed to a match with my daughter, is he trying to kidnap her? Does he have some other motive?!

"Word of Power, Bind!"

A spell fell into the valley. Quan took out the talisman her father had given her before he left and scattered it across the valley like snowflakes. At the same time, she took out the binding talisman she had treasured at home and stuck it on the Great Tengu Demon King.

After doing all this, she walked up to the little snow maiden, smiled, and asked, "Which one do you like? The big one or the small one? We'll take whichever one you like!"

Don't ever like staying!

She must not let her daughter, whom she had found with great difficulty, be kidnapped by wild monsters in the mountains!

The Snow Maiden blinked, seemingly surprised by Izumi's strength. She stood up and walked to the Great Tengu, who was bound by a binding talisman, picked up a black feather from the ground, and asked, "How do I pack it up?"

"Just arrest them and take them away."

Izumi walked to the side, picked up the little tengu that Yuki-onna had caught at the beginning, and asked, "How about we take this one? It's obedient and won't be able to run away later."

"No, I want this one."

Quan pointed to the adult tengu and said.

Quan reluctantly chanted an incantation, preparing to bind the Great Tengu within it. Just then, a male demon slowly walked up to them.

"Huh? What's going on?"

Quan was taken aback and turned around to see the young hair-eating demon standing behind her.

Ghost?

"You guys... were captured and trapped here by Yukihime?" the Hair-Eating Demon asked slowly, taking a drag of his cigarette.

"Yes, are you going to save me?"

Quan asked with a smile.

"No way! You awful Onmyoji, I wish you were dead!"

Quan's heart was shattered.

"How could you just stand by and watch someone die...?"

"snort!"

The hair-eating demon snorted coldly. A wounded tengu ran past him. He wrapped his smoke around the tengu's body, rolled it up, and inhaled it.

"!"

Quan frowned as he watched all this unfold, the screams of the Heavenly Demon lingering in his ears.

What did he just do?

Having no desire to linger any longer, Izumi put away the talisman binding the Great Tengu and walked towards the Hair-Eating Demon whose long hair was being hooked by his fingertips.

"Let's go."

Little Snow Woman followed, while the Hair-Eating Demon was still completely absorbed in the smooth strands of hair.

As he passed by, Quan casually grabbed him and stuffed him into Xiaoxue Nu's hand. Xiaoxue Nu patted his face and turned him into a wisp of green smoke that wrapped around her wrist.

"Aaaaaaah!!"

After a scream, there was a long silence.

Walking in the mountains, Quan encountered two ghosts, one old and one young, drifting among the peaks.

"Wow, it's a rotten apple!"

The grandfather and grandson were very happy as they ate rotten apples to fill their stomachs.

Why do you eat rotten apples?

Quan asked, puzzled.

"This is all we can eat, waaaaah..." The little grandson cried very sadly.

"Looks like there are more monsters ahead..."

Izumi had a headache. He wouldn't even give a fresh apple to the wandering ghost. The monsters he was about to encounter were definitely not tolerant, and were completely different from the vengeful Tengu clan.

Walking in the mountains, as the sun set and darkness enveloped the earth, Quan found a sturdy tree and prepared to lean against it to rest.

"I'm so hungry... I wish I had something to eat..." Izumi's stomach growled.

"I'll go find it."

The little snow maiden floated into the sky, searching everywhere for branches with fruit hanging on them, but after searching all around, she couldn't find anything.

"No?"

Seeing her return empty-handed, Quan sighed with relief.

If there were any leftovers, the grandfather and grandson wouldn't have bothered searching for the rotten fruit under the withered leaves, which had turned into soup.

Are you very hungry?

Little Snow Girl asked.

Quan nodded.

Little Snow Woman said, "Release Great Tengu and let him go find it."

May I?

Izumi, half-believing and half-doubting, removed the talisman from the Great Tengu, and a black bird flew out of the talisman and landed on her shoulder.

"Wow..."

"A crow? When did it get in there?" Quan looked it over unfriendly.

"Since it crawled in here on its own, let's just roast it."

Quan used a few tree branches to make a barbecue grill, and a bead of cold sweat trickled down Crow's forehead.

"Croak! Croak!"

What's wrong with it?

The little snow woman grabbed it, her eyes devoid of any warmth.

"I'll take care of it."

"Quack quack quack!!"

After three cawing cries, the black crow surprisingly spoke in human language: "Let me go!"

"It can talk?" The little snow maiden tapped her chin with her finger and said happily, "If I eat it, I can defeat the Great Tengu!"

"don't want!!"

A black crow let out a mournful cry.

"You have now defeated me!"

"Huh?"

Little Snow Maiden glanced at the crow, then fearfully retreated to the spring's side, "It's gone mad..."
