"What is Brother Ichimokuren looking for?"
A blue lantern floated over and asked.
"Little Ibaraki-dōji".
Has anyone seen Ibaraki-dōji?
The blue lantern softly asked in the air.
"Silly Ichimokuren, he's up in the tree!" the mountain rabbit said, hopping along.
"Um?!"
Looking up at the sky, a small white figure was hidden in the tree canopy, almost invisible unless you looked closely.
"What are you doing up there? Come down quickly! Brother Ichimokuren is looking for you!" The mountain child shook the branch, and Ibaraki-dōji on top hugged it even tighter.
The door opened, and the hair-eating demon walked out yawning, lazily asking, "What are you all doing huddled together like this?"
As he spoke, he saw Little Ibaraki-doji in the tree. "Lianlian, what are you looking at? How did he get up in the tree? Come down quickly, what if he falls from that height?"
Little Ibaraki-doji glanced at him.
"Go to the back and find a three-star Karasu Tengu. They can fly. Have the Karasu Tengu carry him down."
The hair-eating demon blew out a puff of smoke.
"I'll do it."
A white figure descended from the second floor. The Great Tengu staggered and landed in the courtyard, instantly lifting Ibaraki-dōji down from the tree.
"It's alright now."
He put Ibaraki-doji down, and Yuki-onna floated down beside him, carefully checking whether Ibaraki-doji and he were injured.
"Dinner's ready! Dinner's ready! A few people, come help me serve the food! Hurry up!" Yingcao called to them from the kitchen.
The hair-eating demon entered the kitchen.
"Knock knock knock!" The door rang.
The Zashiki-warashi was watering flowers and feeding the animals breakfast at the door when she heard the noise. She put down what she was doing and went to open the door.
