Before opening the door, Qiu Shui learned from data collected through aerial analysis that the person outside disliked her very much.
She must know the person outside the door.
Before opening the door, she was filled with some doubt and trepidation. But when she opened the door and saw the unfamiliar middle-aged woman outside, she became suspicious.
She had never met this woman before, and she didn't know her at all. How could she have such strong feelings of hatred towards her?
As she opened the door, a cold wind from hundreds of meters above suddenly rushed in, making the beaded curtain behind her rustle.
Hearing these unusual noises, Tian Ma Xingke downstairs realized what was happening and quickly ran up the stairs to her side, even watching her warily before the woman outside could speak.
"Who is this?" he asked.
Qiu Shui shook her head; she didn't know.
Her hair clung messily to her face, and Qiu Shui's wary gaze fell on the middle-aged woman in front of her. "Who are you?"
The middle-aged woman glanced at her, stiffly took a key from her pocket, pointed to a spot not far away, and said slowly:
“She’s there.”
After she finished speaking, Qiu Shui looked in the direction she was pointing and saw a person running quickly towards them from the corner.
Upon seeing that face, Qiu Shui felt a sense of astonishment and confusion.
She's so persistent? She actually came looking for me again!
"She ran all the way here from high altitude, she's crazy!" Tian Ma Xingke clearly recognized her.
After saying that, he glanced at the middle-aged woman at the door and asked, "Are you her...?"
"Mother."
The woman uttered those two words awkwardly, while glaring at him.
Upon learning her identity, Qiu Shui and Tian Ma Xing Ke exchanged a glance, especially Qiu Shui, who felt even more puzzled.
Even if Xu Zi harbored a great deal of resentment, she wouldn't come here to find her, would she? What's happening now is simply unbelievable!
Just then, Xu Zi, wearing a baseball cap, ran up to them from a distance. The middle-aged woman walked to the side and got into her car, which swayed precariously in the air.
Xu Zi can't drive!
Qiu Shui belatedly realized that she seemed to know why Xu Zi's mother had come with Xu Zi, but she still didn't understand.
Xu Zi, her eyes fixed on the person in front of her, stood with her hands on her hips, panting heavily. Her face was flushed, and she looked extremely excited.
What are you doing here?
Qiu Shui asked her casually.
Xu Zi recovered and a smile appeared on her face. Just as she was about to speak, Tian Ma Xingke found the door and prepared to close it without saying a word.
"Wait! What are you doing?"
Xu Zi placed her finger on the glass door and forcefully opened it. Tian Ma Xingke put down the button and did not continue.
What was happening before her eyes was different from what she had imagined. Seeing that the two people in front of her seemed to have no intention of acknowledging her, Xu Zi panicked.
"Luo Qiushui! I need to talk to you!"
She spoke nervously, pulling her hat down low and watching her warily.
"What's up?"
"Autumn Water asked casually."
She placed one hand on the button next to the glass door. Xu Zi watched her movement nervously and quickly said:
"I got my revenge on you! I got my revenge! You know me..."
"What revenge?"
Qiu Shui interrupted her.
"You fell from grace not because I refused to testify, nor because you did anything wrong, but because your competitors were stronger than you, and you simply failed."
Hearing these words, Xu Zi's face turned extremely pale, even though it was true. Standing in the wind, she shouted loudly:
"You're talking nonsense! Don't forget I helped you before. You deliberately ran me over with your car, and I was the one who got you out of that situation. Otherwise, would you still be standing here safely?!"
After shouting those words, seeing that Qiu Shui remained unmoved, Xu Zi's expression grew increasingly unpleasant, and she finally couldn't hold back any longer.
"Don't you want to know how I'm going to get my revenge on you?" she said eagerly.
"How to retaliate?"
Qiu Shui looked at her calmly.
"You haven't been to Heian-kyo for a long time, have you?"
Xu Zi looked at her threateningly, her voice still arrogant, but her tone was somewhat defeated.
Upon hearing this, Qiu Shui felt a sudden panic, but she pretended to be calm and asked, "What did you do? Tell me."
Xu Zi's lips curled up, certain that she would ask this question. She made a gesture of disdain that she habitually used when looking down on others and said, "I killed your Snow Woman, didn't expect that, did you?"
Qiu Shui: "..."
After a few seconds of silence, she calmly turned to the housekeeper and instructed him to close the door.
Seeing that she was about to close the door again, Xu Zi quickly stood in the gap between the glass door and the door frame to stop her.
"If you don't believe me, go in and see for yourself! A few days ago, the data in Heian-kyo suddenly became unstable, and there was unrest..."
Before the door closed, the last thing she heard was this sentence. Standing in front of the glass door, Qiu Shui was conflicted for the first time.
After walking into the living room and sitting on the sofa, Qiu Shui pressed hard on the corner of her eye and sat motionless for a while.
Tian Ma Xingke walked to her side, and Qiu Shui looked up and asked, "What did you mean when you said there was a problem with the data?"
Tian Ma Xingke shook his head, "I didn't experience that. I had a cold that night and was resting at home."
"That day? Which day?"
"I can't remember exactly, it seems like half a month has passed," Tian Ma Xingke said cautiously.
What happened that day?
"I don't know. After recovering from my cold, I logged into Heian-kyo and found my guild empty. After inquiring, I learned that some of the shikigami suddenly lost their memories that night and left the guild following their nature. Other shikigami, speaking nonsense that I couldn't understand, remained in the guild."
He said in a bitter voice.
"And then..."
"Later I saw some shikigami with twisted personalities who were indiscriminately harming the onmyoji who were online at the time and the shikigami who remained. They set Heian-kyo on fire, burning, killing and looting."
At this point, Tian Ma Xingke's voice became serious.
"The next day, the entire server sent a notification saying that the shikigami's simulated emotion system had been hacked for unknown reasons, and some strange shikigami were automatically removed afterward."
Qiu Shui was silent for a moment, then asked in an icy voice, "Will all shikigami with disordered data and those that harm Onmyoji be eliminated?"
Tian Ma Xingke nodded.
Seeing his expression, Qiu Shui stopped talking and ran upstairs to the holographic projection room to quickly log into Heian-kyo.
"Entering the 'Changling' area... Please wait..."
This login took several times longer than before, totaling five minutes.
During this time, Rouya floated in the air watching her with concern.
Five minutes later, everything went dark, and Qiu Shui opened her eyes again. She was wearing her familiar blue clothes and a tall hat that she hadn't seen in a long time.
Looking around, she landed on a lawn in Heian-kyo. She walked out along a side path and entered Suzaku Avenue.
There, the familiar Heian-kyo was still filled with laughter, but she clearly noticed that many shikigami were missing, and many familiar shops had closed down.
Everything was the same as before, yet something was different.
