Chapter 234 Eternal Silence Island

Regardless of which of these two guesses is correct, it was a huge blow to her. She never imagined she would encounter this situation.

But on this island, she was more suspicious of something else than these speculations—was the mysterious brainwave in Heian-kyo actually originating from here?

Ever since she discovered the strange noises, those radio waves have been appearing outside her Yin-Yang Abode, at the junction of the abode gate and the large tree outside, which has greatly bothered her.

Sound originates from movement; stillness only brings silence.

She was an atheist and didn't believe in the mythical, ethereal ghosts and monsters. But at this moment, thinking of the mysterious, strange voices that had attracted her, she couldn't help but tremble.

It was as if some unseen force had summoned her here.

As her pace slowed, Qiu Shui began to have second thoughts. Just as she began to doubt her own abilities, a colossal factory appeared before her.

No... it's a row!

Seeing the enormous thing in front of him, Qiu Shui was speechless, and his mind couldn't help but wander:

Who bought this place? And who built these massive factories on this deserted island? What's inside the factories? What was the purpose of building these factories? Did the bodies of the young children on the mountain come from here?

A series of questions arose in her mind, making her thoughts very chaotic.

These factory buildings seem out of place here; the site must have been built several years ago. Constructing this place must have required a lot of money and resources, but I haven't heard of any large-scale expenditures in the vicinity…

Everything seemed to have become a mystery.

However, her memory was correct; that light was indeed a lamp here.

Standing on the hill in surprise for a while, Qiu Shui composed herself and carefully walked down the slope, remaining cautious as she went, until she entered the flat valley.

Hidden in a corner at the bottom of the valley, Qiu Shui peered out but saw no one. The flat, vast valley seemed to be devoid of any means of transportation.

These could all be disguises.

Autumn waters illuminate the bracelet...

Beep...beep...

Several beams of red light fell, and the results were obtained a few seconds later: there was no normal human body temperature in the valley, nor anything that could maintain movement, except for numerous flowing liquids and fluctuating electric currents.

There's really no one here!

Qiu Shui hadn't considered this.

She had prepared a lot of equipment to fight against "people," but it seems she won't need it.

She put away her mechanical gun, changed into her particle equipment, and was fully armed once again.

In modern society, the absence of people doesn't mean there aren't other things here, such as... vicious mercenary robots, highly toxic butlers lurking in the shadows, and assassination systems.

Noticing the unusual nature of the place, Qiu Shui, fully armed and on high alert, slowly approached the factory with her particle equipment.

She felt constrained without the help of a housekeeper, but she couldn't worry about that now.

She slowly approached the factory building.

She had expected to encounter light-sensing devices and underground mechanisms along the way, but as she got closer to the factory gate, nothing changed.

"Why is there nothing here?"

Qiu Shui was anxious.

This was not what she had imagined.

Upon safely arriving at the factory gate, she discovered that the factory used a special material as its construction material, which could block signal transmission and reconnaissance equipment.

This is perhaps why she has been unable to determine what is hidden inside.

There was no damage outside the gate. As Qiu Shui approached the gate, she became extremely alert and focused, preparing to deal with any unexpected situations that might arise.

After confirming that there were no hidden mechanisms or highly toxic substances on the door, Qiu Shui gently placed her finger on the door and pushed it hard.

At the same time, a particle shield around her transformed into a particle wall, blocking her way.

"Creak—"

The door opened.

There was no poison gas inside, no...

That's...!!

Qiu Shui stared blankly at the door in front of her; there was another door inside...

Nerves tightened again. Qiu Shui activated the particle wall, bypassed the simple door, and walked towards the inner door.

As she left the door behind her, she suddenly noticed something. With a strange expression, she walked to the door in front of her and cautiously checked it again.

"Beep, everything is normal."

Feedback is sent back to you.

At the sound, the door in front of her opened automatically, and Qiu Shui quickly and warily raised her mechanical gun, aiming the muzzle...

Um……

"There's another door inside?"

Qiu Shui muttered to himself.

Three doors in a row. Qiu Shui calmly walked through them and stood before this door. Even then, she didn't relax; instead, she became increasingly vigilant.

Is it normal for a factory to have three doors, each one more bizarre than the last?

Qiu Shui looked at the combination lock on the door and thought.

The first door, the outermost door, can only be opened from the outside. It's a one-way door, meaning that people entering can only go in, not out.

The second door, the one she had just passed through, opened automatically, seemingly welcoming anyone to enter.

The third door was now right in front of us, but it was clearly strange as well.

These three doors are like a trap: one is a one-way street, one is eye-catching, and the last one... could it be a strangulation trap?

Her eyes darted around warily as Qiu Shui carefully examined her surroundings, but there was nothing that caught her attention.

The floor is solid for dozens of meters beneath the paving stones, so the floor won't suddenly collapse. The surrounding walls are clearly not going to move, there's no water in the valley that could be poured in, and there are no weapons hidden in the walls. This is just an ordinary factory building.

The only thing that might cause a problem here is the lock in front of us.

Approaching the door, Qiu Shui looked at the fingerprint-like combination lock and easily bypassed the door's security system a few seconds later.

Because the housekeeper wasn't there, she moved much slower.

So during this time, she didn't see a dark shadow silently appear behind her while she was focused on cracking the code.

The shadowy figure was shrouded in a thin veil, its features and limbs blending into the darkness, and its red eyes were two bloody holes.

The dark figure stared at her for a while before quietly disappearing into the wall behind her.

"alright."

Having obtained the password, Qiu Shui straightened up, quickly tapped her finger, and the fingerprint lock in front of her opened.

The iron gate slowly moved to the left, and this time there was no wall in front of her. She successfully entered the mysterious factory.

Upon entering the first room, Qiu Shui was greeted by several sluggish electronic butlers, outdated versions of which were performing simple administrative tasks.

"Stop running".

"Qiu Shui gave the order."

Upon receiving the command, the electronic butlers simultaneously stopped. Qiu Shui used the particle information database to collect some information from them and stored it in her bracelet.

After finishing that task, she continued on. The factory was spacious, with many empty rooms lining both sides of the corridor.

The rooms were filled with transparent glass jars, each about two people tall, with several mechanical arms injecting a clear, viscous liquid into them.
