Chapter 32 The Pond Had to Be Built (Part 4)

"Father, is there really a spring in the back mountain?"

Firefly asked uncertainly.

"There must be!"

Even if we don't have it, we have to have it; constantly relying on others' resources isn't a solution.

The group searched everywhere in the mountains, even in the mossy areas where water was most likely to be found, but they still found nothing by sunset.

As night fell and visibility was obstructed, Qiu Shui led them to an unfamiliar place, not knowing where they had gone.

Where is this?

A rotten smell wafted over, and since shikigami have a more sensitive sense of smell than humans, Hotaru couldn't help but shrink closer to Yuki-onna.

Qiu Shui frowned. She couldn't smell anything, but a chill came from her feet, carrying a deep, cold feeling.

"That is..."

The snow woman narrowed her eyes.

In the distance, there was the light of candles. After passing a few trees, a group of monsters appeared before me. They were running around wildly, some of them disappearing for a moment and then reappearing the next.

Among them are lesser demons and greater demons.

Qiu Shui's face turned pale. Those monsters looked fierce and were obviously not easy to deal with, but Ying Cao looked at her excitedly.

"Dad, hurry up and throw the lucky beans!"

"Is this the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons?"

Qiu Shui realized what was happening and took out a small bag from her pocket. The bag was filled with golden lucky beans, each one bearing a talisman she had drawn on it.

"Is it really okay to smash it down?"

Those monsters look tough to deal with. What if they turn around and attack us?

He carefully tossed a lucky bean, which hit a little devil wearing a tall hat, causing a piece of his shroud to fall off.

"..."

Pick it up carefully, system notification:

"You have obtained a fragment of Jumpy Brother. Collect thirty fragments to summon Jumpy Brother."

I see.

"Smash that one, the monster is sitting on the jar holding a doll, and there are beautiful peacock feathers beside it."

A golden lucky bean was thrown at her, and the girl in the box turned around and looked at her with a smile. Qiu Shui threw another one.

Throw it, throw it again! Throw two!

"Smack."

A miniature doll fell down.

"Congratulations on obtaining a fragment of the Girl in the Box."

"It was so easy to get it!" Qiu Shui was delighted. There were still many lucky beans left in the bag; she'd smash a few more fragments!

"You have obtained three fragments of Zashiki-warashi."

"You have obtained a fragment of enlightenment."

"Congratulations on obtaining a fragment of the Black Reaper."

...

Qiu Shui was busy smashing the beautiful shikigami, while the shikigami watched from behind. The sorcerer said, "I've been here before."

“I’ve been here before,” said Firefly Grass.

"I used to think these Onmyoji were strange. They always tried to capture us, and in the end, they only left behind a few fragments."

"I met other yokai during the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons; this is a feast for yokai."

Jue said.

The snow woman searched tirelessly among the monsters, when suddenly her gaze sharpened, and she tugged at Qiushui's sleeve.

"What's wrong?"

Autumn waters turn back.

"Umibozu is a yokai that controls the seawater, and may have a spring on its body."

She said.

Turning around, she saw a giant fish with whiskers walking among the monsters, leaning on a cane. Qiu Shui quickly threw a handful of lucky beans at it. The giant fish turned around and glanced at her, mumbling something incoherently.

"Snow Woman, go and grab it!"

The snow woman landed on the head of the sea monk, grabbed the sea monk's cane with her arm, and a shower of snow froze the sea monk.

"#!*amp;amp;##!"

The sea monster struggled inside the ice block, and just as it was about to escape, the snow woman threw another ice ball at it, and the sorcerer threw down several small insects that circled around it, trapping it.

The Snow Woman placed the cane in Qiu Shui's hand, and Qiu Shui immediately recognized the blue gems embedded on one side of the cane as springs. She quickly used the fan handle to loosen the springs, and then knocked them off with a forceful tap.

"amp;amp;#!!"

"Got it! Let's go!"

Several sea monsters noticed something was wrong and gathered around. Seeing this, Qiushui took out a box of sushi that she had just exchanged and was about to eat and placed it in front of it.
