There were a few broken talismans in the backpack, which Qiu Shui casually tossed in.
"Swish...swish..."
One after another, dark figures appeared, and notification sounds kept ringing in my ears.
Seven or eight tomb raiding imps, parasitic souls, and lantern ghosts appeared in succession. Qiu Shui stared at the group of people in front of her, stunned for a moment.
Judging from their appearance and the system's automatic name prompt, they are probably not ordinary shikigami. Could they be...?
"Hey! Miss, our shop is closing, you have to leave!"
Qiu Shui was startled, and the bracelet on her wrist fell to the ground in rhythm with the patting.
"Beep beep, you have been disconnected..."
"Hello."
Qiu Shui looked up and saw an older woman standing in front of her, dressed as a saleswoman. The woman's eyes were full of resentment, and she muttered to herself:
"Still lingering in the supermarket this late? Do you want to treat this place like a hotel?! The doors are about to close..."
"ah……"
Looking around, Qiu Shui found that the crowd had disappeared and she was now the only one standing in front of the checkout counter. The supermarket was quiet and the lights were very dim.
"Sorry, there were a lot of people earlier, so I waited here for a while. I didn't expect it to be closing so soon."
She smiled apologetically, picked up the bracelet, and quickly placed the items from the shopping basket on the counter.
"These young people nowadays..."
The saleswoman muttered as she entered the items on the counter into the computer one by one, and finally a number appeared on the screen.
"179 yuan."
"Do you accept electronic payments?" Qiu Shui picked up her wallet and looked at it.
"Not supported."
The older woman glanced at her and snorted, "You didn't bring any cash, did you?"
Qiu Shui broke out in a cold sweat; her empty wallet contained only a few loose coins.
Her face flushed red, and after a moment of silence, she came up with a solution.
"...I'll transfer the money to you, can you pay in cash for me?"
Everyone has an electronic account, and the older woman is an employee here, so this should be fine, right?
"What?!"
The saleswoman's eyes widened suddenly, and her voice turned rude, "Who are you? Why should I tell you my online account number? Young lady, if you can afford it, buy it; if you can't, leave! What kind of nonsense is this!"
She swept the items on the counter into the shopping basket, furious, her eyes wide and wary as she looked at her.
Qiu Shui remained frozen in front of the counter, still in the act of asking questions.
How do I buy this?
Who are you buying this for?
"Ha ha……"
Several male voices appeared behind her, and the saleswoman's expression froze. Qiu Shui turned her head and saw several people picking and choosing on the shelves, joking with each other.
"Hey! Where did you guys come from?! Why aren't you leaving yet?!"
The saleswoman left the counter and walked up to them. The group chuckled, and one of the boys explained gently.
"Auntie, we are students from Princeton University. We finished class late today, so we are still here. We're sorry."
His voice was sincere and earnest, and the saleswoman's expression softened. She hummed a few times and walked to the counter.
"Let's pay the bill, stop browsing."
The boys obediently went to the counter to pay. The boy who had explained things to them earlier stood first in front, and out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a girl who looked like a cricket standing to the side.
"May I ask who you are?"
Qiu Shui looked up when she heard the sound, snapping out of her tangled thoughts.
"I'm shopping."
She explained simply.
"But you don't have anything in your hands."
The boy asked, puzzled.
"...on the ground."
"Why are you on the ground? Don't you have any money?" the boy asked, noticing the items in the shopping basket next to him.
"yes."
Qiu Shui waved her hand, her pockets were empty, and she had no choice but to turn around and leave.
"etc!"
She paused, turned around and asked, "What's wrong?" If she didn't leave now, she would miss the last subway.
"I'll pay for you. Auntie, please put the following items on my tab."
The boy took the items out of the shopping basket on the ground and took out a few banknotes from his pocket.
