"Stop spreading rumors!"
The hair-eating demon angrily threw out strands of hair, and the mountain rabbit cried out in surprise, falling off Mr. Frog. The hair-eating demon's hair pushed her off.
"Guigui, calm down!"
The snow woman landed beside him and said.
Firefly Grass floated up the mountain rabbit and carried her onto Mr. Frog's back.
"Let's deal with these people first," the Great Tengu said coldly.
The Yaksha descended from the sky and stood beside the lady. His steel fork landed on the ground, and he held a steel knife that he had picked up from somewhere.
"Yaksha, what are you doing?"
The snow woman stared at him coldly.
"I want to sharpen this knife, and use this woman's blood to make it even sharper."
As he spoke, the Yaksha grinned a terrifying smile. The Snow Woman suddenly remembered the horrific fates of those who had offended the Yaksha.
"No."
The Great Tengu waved his hand.
"Look."
Ahead, the great demon Tamamo-no-Mae was beating the demon king wielding a stone hammer, while Ibaraki-dōji and Shuten-dōji formed a pincer attack on him. At this moment, the outcome was obvious.
"You're bullying our king because you outnumber him!" a little demon lying to the side said resentfully, seemingly loyal to the Ghost King.
"Come here, little one."
The hair-eating demon turned around, his face turning into a cloud of white mist, revealing a few fierce glints. He then flicked his little finger.
The indignant little monster was drawn by his power and walked towards them, roaring angrily as he went:
"You are despicable and shameless!"
The snow woman glanced at him, and the little monster looked back at her. Behind him, many little monsters quickly gathered and stared intently at them.
They lived on this mountain and came running together when they sensed danger.
Among them was an old demon with a long beard, whose attention was immediately drawn to the shikigami over there as soon as it appeared.
"That white hair and black wings, do any of you look familiar?"
The old demon suddenly realized something.
After all, their appearance was so different that it immediately understood their identities.
The other, younger demons, who hadn't seen much of the world, were completely bewildered.
"Isn't that a crow?"
A little demon asked.
While they were staring at each other, Ibaraki-dōji and Tamamo-no-Mae had already defeated the Demon King, and Shuten-dōji removed his head from his neck forever.
Ibaraki-dōji had no patience whatsoever; he killed the Demon King in one strike and didn't even have a thought of revenge.
The Yaksha next to him was already furious.
Ibaraki-dōji glanced at him and said righteously, "We can't be stuck here. We have to go back to Heian-kyō to see if Father has returned and if Father is still alive."
Upon hearing this, the anger on Yaksha's face vanished.
The hair-eating demon, who also heard these words, seemed to wake up. He raised his head and regained his usual calm.
"Let's go!"
He urged them on and took the lead in heading towards Heian-kyo, with the shikigami following behind him.
The little demons nearby were terrified when they heard the name "Ibaraki-doji" from the hair-eating demon.
Isn't that a famous Japanese demon?!
Overwhelmed by fear and surprise, the little monsters watched them leave without daring to even think of stopping them.
It took the shikigami two days to travel from Heian-kyo to here. Now, they rushed back to Heian-kyo and saw the familiar gate of their guild half an hour later.
Pushing open the gate, Qiu Shui was sitting in the courtyard, holding a cup of tea and looking dejected, while the spider lily was chatting with her beside her.
"Father!"
The dormitory gate opened, and the hair-eating demon rushed in first, followed closely by the snow woman... Finally, the only one who slowly entered was the zashiki-warashi, whose stamina and demonic power were both very weak.
Upon seeing them, Qiu Shui glanced at her watch and asked, somewhat annoyed, "Why are you back so soon?"
The shikigami shrugged.
They discovered that their two-day, snail-paced journey to reach the halfway point was to match their father's pace.
Now they're coming back at their normal pace and realize that their trip to Mount Fuji was actually quite fast.
If Father isn't here, and they've only set off for Mount Fuxi, they should arrive in two or three hours. If this person is Ōtengu or Tamamo-no-Mae, it should be even faster.
After a short rest in the courtyard, the Snow Woman asked Autumn Water if she wanted to continue her journey, and received an affirmative answer.
Are you still going?
After what had happened, the hair-eating ghost was covered in cold sweat and dared not let his father out at all.
Seeing his desperate attempt to stop her, Qiu Shui sighed softly.
Going to Mount Fuji was something she and Qianshan Muxue had planned long ago, and she couldn't break her promise.
“I’ll follow your instructions the whole way on this trip. Wherever you tell me to go, I’ll go,” she said.
...
...
"Father, be careful not to fall!"
As the snow woman flew through the air past a village, the mountain rabbit on the ground watched her nervously.
The waist-high railing posed no problem for the shikigami. But for her, it was an insurmountable obstacle.
"Come."
The snow woman reached out and grabbed her wrist.
She gently held Qiu Shui's hand. Father was so weak; if she used too much force, she would hurt him.
Qiu Shui: "I'm not that weak."
As she spoke, she landed on the other side of the railing.
Her legs sank involuntarily, and the atmosphere around her suddenly became heavy. The snow woman landed beside her and pulled her out of the swamp.
"Is Dad alright?"
"The hair-eating demon asked nervously."
"I'm not made of clay, I'm not that delicate," Qiu Shui said helplessly.
As she was being told, the snow woman placed her on flat ground, and just as she took a casual step, she suddenly tripped and fell flat on her face...
"Father!"
"The adult has fallen!!"
The shikigami all gathered around.
Yaodaoji looked up and saw a person lying where Qiushui had just stepped.
Seemingly sensing the movement above, the person lying on the ground stood up.
A tall, thin, dark-skinned man appeared on the flat ground. He was very ordinary-looking, the kind of man who would be easily lost in a crowd.
Upon seeing him, the shikigami quickly formed a circle between him and Qiushui, watching him warily with their demonic energy surging in their hands.
"You are..."
Before the man could finish his question, Ibaraki-dōji grabbed his shoulder and he collapsed to the ground.
Qiu Shui was helped up by Xue Nu. Seeing that he was being restrained, she looked him over for a few moments and said, "Let him go."
Ibaraki-dōji released his grip, but still stood not far from the man, wary of him suddenly doing something irrational.
"Who are you?"
Qiu Shui asked calmly.
She was certain she had never seen this person before, but his face gave her a sense of familiarity, especially his eyes; she was absolutely certain she had seen them somewhere before.
Upon hearing her words, the man straightened up and looked down at her. After a moment of silence, he said:
"I am a villager from nearby."
Hearing this answer, Qiu Shui's eyes showed some disappointment. The moment she saw him, her instincts told her that this person was an Onmyoji she had met before.
But he denied this identity.
So, he must be an NPC.
