Chapter 96 Winter is Coming

"Feel sorry."

Qiu Shui lowered her head, wondering what she would say if she asked her, her heart filled with unease.

"You know our group didn't do well last time. Let's be frank, I don't have any feelings about this group because I don't like mechanics at all."

As the can was popped open with a bang, Qiu Shui looked up in surprise. Her words were unexpected, and she didn't know how to respond.

"so what?"

Qiu Shui became serious.

Let's disband.

The senior student in front of me said casually.

"What?!"

Qiu Shui hadn't expected this answer. Since joining the group, she had thought about quitting countless times, but she had never said anything. She thought she would come clean at the end of the semester, but she didn't expect that she wouldn't have the chance.

I felt a sense of relief, but more than anything, I was puzzled.

"I want to know the reason."

"The reason is simple: I want to study the courses I like, and I don't have time to waste energy on these trivial matters."

"You want to transfer to another hospital?"

The senior student in front of me smiled and said, "Yes."

"Is it difficult?"

Qiu Shui didn't understand why she wanted to transfer schools, since this was no simple matter.

"I like psychology, so I'm going to take some courses. I'm not going to talk to you anymore. I just came here today to let you know that, since we're not very strong, there's no difference between us being separate or together."

The aluminum can was thrown into the trash can, tracing a perfect parabola in the air. Qiu Shui heard a "clang" and analyzed the range and standard of the trajectory.

When her consciousness shifted from the parabola, the senior from the design department had already left, leaving behind only a disbandment statement to be handed to the teacher.

Pick up the form; it has several explanatory paragraphs written on it, and at the bottom is a name: Liu Anxi.

Walking on the connecting bridge between the buildings, Qiu Shui watched the students hurrying by. She checked her watch and saw that it was class time. Without hesitation, she headed towards her dormitory.

I went into the dormitory, put the sheet on my desk, sat on my bed and thought about it for a while, but it didn't seem very interesting.

"I've had too much going on these past few days, why am I starting to overthink things... What does her transferring have to do with me?"

Lying in bed staring at the ceiling, she suddenly had the thought of going home; she was a little homesick.

"Beep beep!"

A voice came from the bracelet, and she put it on and entered the holographic world.

"You have entered Changling District..."

Snowflakes danced in the air in Heian-kyo, their white petals gently landing on my shoulders, like a veil of white gauze.

"It's snowing!"

In the distance, not far from Kyoto, there are several mountains, among which the smaller one sandwiched between them is Mount Fuxi.

Looking into the distance, Mount Fuxi is covered in snow, and the Yin-Yang Temple on the summit is faintly visible, with wisps of white smoke rising into the sky.

"Electric blanket clearance sale! You can't buy charcoal or a warm earthenware radiant with 10,000 gold coins, but you can buy a cozy warm blanket!"

Hearing someone shouting, Qiu Shui walked up to the stall where the vendor was selling blankets. Several Onmyoji were picking out blankets beside her.

How do I buy a blanket?

She asked.

"One electric blanket costs 10,000 gold coins, and you can buy one for 100,000 gold coins! Want one, sir?"

Electricity? Can Heian-kyo be electrified?

"I live in the mountains, can I still use this blanket?"

Qiu Shui was half-believing, half-doubting.

"Of course it will work! How about one? We'll give you one free when you buy ten blankets, and there are discounts for larger orders!"

The Onmyoji selling blankets enthusiastically recommended them. Qiushui picked up a blanket and found that it was not big, but the quality was very good.

Looking at the blankets, she thought to herself: There are still 70,000 gold coins in the guild. With 70,000 gold coins, we can only buy seven blankets. There aren't enough for the shikigami, and I don't know if they need them.

After buying the blanket with gold coins, how will we eat? Our family isn't well-off yet...

Thinking of all this, she put down the blanket, went to the market to buy some necessities, and headed towards Fuxi Mountain.

As she walked along the road, the snow continued to fall, and a thin layer of ice formed on the mountain path. Qiu Shui walked carefully, afraid of slipping and falling off the mountain and into the cliff.

After walking for a while, she suddenly became alert, as two people had been following her all the way from the market to Fuxi Mountain.

There are four Yin-Yang shrines on the mountain. Where did the two people behind them come from?

Reaching a corner, Qiu Shui quickened her pace and hid in a secluded cave, peeking out quietly.

A series of hurried footsteps echoed through the road, and it was two women.

The two women had dark faces and thick, black hair that was draped loosely over their shoulders. They were both dressed in tattered clothes.

One of them was much larger than the other, with a very strong body, but he was slow-moving and had a listless gaze, perhaps indicating some mental problem. The other woman was very slender, but she resembled a wild beast, with a fierce red glint in her eyes.

"Are they shikigami? Doesn't seem like it. NPCs? Doesn't seem like it either. What are they?"

As Qiu Shui pondered this, she saw two women outside who had discovered she was missing and were searching everywhere, then frantically smashing rocks and trees.

Danger was creeping in. Qiu Shui swallowed hard and cast a spell to suppress the monster.
