12. The items in your bedside table are the wrong size.

12. The items in your bedside table are the wrong size.

Mu Jia instinctively tried to break free, but the force on her wrist only increased.

A familiar feeling suddenly pulled her back to this morning.

At that moment, downstairs at her grandmother's house, she was about to reach for the car door when Chu Chiyi suddenly grabbed her wrist from behind.

She turned her head with a hint of surprise, her gaze shifting down to where their skin was touching.

But at that moment, Chu Chiyi suddenly let go.

Then, he reached over with both hands and gently rolled down the cuff of her right sleeve.

She had rolled up her sleeves a few times while eating breakfast to avoid getting food on her clothes, but forgot to put them down after she finished eating.

Mu Jia realized what was happening, suddenly pulled her hand away, opened the car door, and slammed it shut.

I walked a few steps away, regretting that I hadn't just thrown it at his face.

Thinking of this, she became angry again and tried to snatch the keys from his hand with her other hand.

But he easily dodged it, and once again his grab missed.

"Chu Chiyi, what's wrong with you? Let go! Give it back to me!"

Their eyes finally met again. Mu Jia saw that the fierceness in his eyes had disappeared, but a chilling coldness still lingered.

He suddenly raised an eyebrow at her and brandished the keys in his hand: "We were having such a good time chatting, so even if you just dropped this, you wouldn't have noticed at all?"

She glared at him fiercely. She had clearly intended to pick it up, but he had gotten there first.

At this point, she suddenly raised her head again, looking directly at him, "Chu Chiyi, what are you uncomfortable about?"

Chu Chiyi looked at her, his ink-black pupils deep and unfathomable.

Since he remained silent, Mu Jia spoke for him, "Is it because I was chatting with other people while we were together that you felt embarrassed and uncomfortable?"

She stared at him intently, finding it all rather amusing. Before she went on "dates" with other men, he would always considerately help her tidy up her appearance.

So what's going on here now?

Mu Jia's gaze shifted, then suddenly fell on the express delivery box in his other hand. "Or is it that you're used to being high and mighty, and can't stand this humiliation because you've been waiting from 12 to 5 and still haven't received a kind look?"

He broke down after only five hours. And what about her? She waited all those years, and she was still like a cold, unyielding stone.

"Then I'd like to ask you, did I force you to wait?" There weren't many people on the lawn around them, so Mu Jia simply said what she had to say, "Let me tell you, stop pretending to be all gentle and considerate!"

The grip on her wrist tightened suddenly for a moment. Chu Chiyi looked down at her, stared for a few seconds, and then asked, "Do you think I did it on purpose?"

Mu Jia winced in pain, letting out a soft gasp, but her words became even more sharp, "Isn't that right? Have you ever treated me like a human being all these years?"

"What do you mean?"

"What do you mean?" She scoffed. He thought he was smarter than anyone else and could confidently pretend to be ignorant.

Chu Chiyi looked at her, a hint of surprise finally flashing in his eyes.

"So surprised that I said it?" Mu Jiaying curled her lips and gave him a mocking smile. "Let me tell you, I'm not one of those stray cats that wag their tails at you whenever you feel like feeding me a couple of times! So don't expect me to be grateful to you or to be indispensable to you!"

At this moment, perhaps seeing that Mu Jia hadn't followed for too long, Mimi finished running a lap by herself, then turned back and ran to their feet.

It barked softly twice, and when Mu Jia ignored it, it rubbed its head and mouth against the hem of her skirt.

But its owner seemed completely oblivious, staring intently at the man opposite him.

Chu Chiyi's gaze seemed to be drawn to the little dog at their feet. He lowered his head slightly and looked at the small white figure.

After looking at it for a few seconds, he suddenly looked up, a smirk playing on his lips, and asked, "How long have you had this dog?"

Mu Jia was completely taken aback when he suddenly asked this at this time, and paused for a moment, "What does this have to do with you?"

She started raising Mimi the year she started working, and it's been more than three years now.

Chu Chiyi suddenly chuckled: "I really can't count on you. After all, even a dog was given away to someone else after only a few days."

As soon as she finished speaking, Mu Jia felt the force on her wrist suddenly disappear, and the key was shoved back into her hand.

Then, I saw him turn around and walk away without looking back.

Liu Mujia stood there stunned for two seconds.

When she came to her senses, she picked up the dog, stood there, and yelled at him, "What do you mean? Come back here and explain yourself!"

Mu Jia jogged out of the park entrance.

Chu Chiyi's dark green GT Mustang was parked on the sidewalk at the park entrance; she saw it as soon as she came in.

She strode over, opened the car door without a word, and sat in the passenger seat. "What did you mean by that? What do you mean by 'raising it for a few days and then dumping it on someone else'?"

Outside the car window, the crowds were bustling, and the sounds of laughter and conversation could be faintly heard. Inside the car, however, the air seemed to solidify into a heavy, solid mass, filled with a silent, tense atmosphere.

"Say something!" After half a minute of silence, Mu Jia finally couldn't hold back any longer.

Chu Chiyi rested one hand on the steering wheel, his fingertips lightly tapping the leather, his gaze fixed on a vague point outside the windshield, his jaw slightly clenched.

"It's nothing." He didn't turn his gaze away. "Didn't I return the key to you? Go home now."

Mu Jia didn't hear a word. She turned to the side and continued to stare intently at the man in the driver's seat. Her voice was filled with anger and a hint of barely perceptible grievance, "Explain yourself, or I won't leave!"

The fingertips that were tapping the steering wheel suddenly stopped.

The car was deathly silent, with only the sound of each other's breathing.

Chu Chiyi finally turned his head. His dark eyes, which had just been carrying a faint smile, were now as deep as a whirlpool, churning with emotions that she couldn't quite understand.

He stared at her for a few seconds, his gaze piercing, as if he wanted to nail her to the seat.

Then, a faint, yet utterly cold, smile suddenly appeared on the corner of his mouth.

"You really want to know?"

Chu Chiyi suddenly unbuckled his seatbelt, the "click" of the metal buckle popping open was particularly jarring in the confined space.

He leaned over her with an irresistible pressure, his hand gripping the back of her neck perfectly, giving her no time to react, his burning lips silencing all her unspoken questions.

"Ugh...!"

Mu Jia's mind went completely blank for a moment, leaving only pure shock.

His kiss was anything but gentle; it was a punishing bite and an undeniable act of plunder.

The crisp masculine scent, mixed with a faint tobacco aroma, forcefully assaulted all her senses.

When she came to her senses, she began to struggle violently, pushing against his firm chest with both hands. Even through the fabric of his shirt, she could feel the tension and strength of his muscles.

Mu Jia kicked her legs wildly, and her heel accidentally hit the car door with a thud. Mimi in the back seat suddenly started moaning as well.

But his arms were like iron hoops, firmly binding her to this seat, making her resistance as futile as an ant trying to shake a tree.

Waves of oxygen deprivation washed over her, her resistance gradually weakened, and her body began to go limp against her will. A familiar, heart-pounding tingling sensation shot up her spine, making Mu Jia's fingertips tremble.

Chu Chiyi suddenly released her.

Mu Jia was panting heavily when she saw him reach back and open the storage compartment on the passenger side, taking out a small square box from it.

Unopened plastic packaging was tossed on the dashboard, making a crisp sound.

She looked at the things on the table, then at him in surprise: "What are you going to do?"

"Mu Jia, are you aware that the items in your bedside table are the wrong size?"
