26. Did you miss me? Where did you miss me?

26. Did you miss me? Where did you miss me?

Chu Chiyi didn't move immediately, but simply held her like this, lowered his head in the warm light, and their breaths gradually mingled.

Mu Jia's hand unconsciously climbed onto his shoulder, feeling the taut muscles under the bathrobe.

He carried her to the bedroom.

With each step, his lips lingered on her collarbone and neck, leaving behind a faint warmth.

When Mu Jia finally sank into the soft bed, Chu Chiyi untied the ribbons of her nightgown, and his warm palms slowly moved up along the inside of her calves, igniting tiny flames on every inch of her skin.

Their bodies, like two perfectly fitting keys, searched for each other in a familiar rhythm.

Chu Chiyi lowered his head, his dark pupils staring into her eyes, as if trying to find something in that hazy gaze.

Mu Jia looked at him blankly, seemingly not quite understanding what he was looking at.

But within minutes, she no longer cared about anything else.

But right at this critical point, Chu Chiyi suddenly stopped.

All movement ceased abruptly, leaving only intertwined breaths and tense bodies. He straddled her, his voice slightly deep and clearly restrained: "It's been a week. Did you miss me?"

She hadn't expected such a question, and she squirmed uncomfortably, but he held her firmly down.

"I've thought about it." Except when they were arguing the most, Mu Jia was usually quite flexible and adaptable in bed with him.

Furthermore, their "friendly discussion" before he left last week served as a reminder of certain facts she already knew all along.

She had thought it through very clearly, so at this moment she was naturally even more invincible because she had no desires.

Seizing the opportunity, she deliberately leaned close to his ear and breathed softly, "Of course I want to, brother."

Unexpectedly, Chu Chiyi pressed on, asking, "What were you thinking about?"

Whether by coincidence or not, no sooner had he finished speaking than his fingers traced across her chest.

Mu Jia looked at him strangely, but did not answer.

Caught off guard, Chu Chiyi couldn't help but gasp.

Mu Jia smiled with a hint of satisfaction.

What she just said wasn't exactly a lie; it's true that you can think of something anywhere.

But unexpectedly, the next second, a sudden pain shot through his chest.

For some unknown reason, Chu Chiyi suddenly fell ill and bit her lightly.

"Ouch..." Mu Jia cried out in pain, "What's wrong?!"

He followed suit, doing what he could without saying anything. The next second, he suddenly started moving again, and all the previous gentleness was gone.

The body also has adaptability, dependence, and withdrawal reactions.

She's usually abroad, so it's okay when we don't see each other for long periods.

But when she's around, it's a different story if you suddenly don't see her for a week.

As the saying goes, it is easy to go from frugality to extravagance, but difficult to go from extravagance to frugality.

A week is indeed a long time.

After a few moments, Mu Jia indeed began to try to escape the overly intense stimulation, but he held her firmly in his arms.

Helpless, she could only reach out and wrap her arms around his sweaty back, closing her eyes in overwhelming pleasure.

After it was over, she turned around, only to feel Chu Chiyi suddenly leaning against her from behind.

She didn't move, leaning against his chest, panting.

She let him embrace her from behind, his heartbeat piercing through her back.

The room fell silent again. After a while, he suddenly asked, "What's wrong?"

Mu Jia was taken aback. "What? What happened?"

"Why are you crying again?"

This time, she was completely stunned: "How...did you know I was crying?"

Strictly speaking, it wasn't really crying; it was just that some tears slid down her cheeks.

"Because of your breathing, the frequency."

She paused again, almost laughing at his words.

He asked again, "Is it still because of that dream last night?"

"no."

“It was my fault that time, I’m sorry,” he said, his chin sinking into the crook of her neck. “I was wrong.”

"...Okay, I accept."

The next second, his body was suddenly turned around rather forcefully.

Chu Chiyi looked into her eyes, "What's wrong?"

Chu Chiyi didn't speak, he just looked at her.

She had felt since she was a child that Chu Chiyi's eyes were a bit too much.

When those eyes look intently at someone, you feel like prey, yet also master. Like dust, yet also a gem. Like a nemesis, yet also a lover. Like…

The two stared at each other for a few seconds, but Mu Jia was the first to give in. She looked away, her voice choked, "Okay, Chu Chiyi, I admit, I am indeed a little sad."

"Hmm. Why?"

"Because we won't be able to eat fried ribbonfish anymore..."

"What?"

"I was chatting with Grandma Chang today, and she told me that after Grandpa Li passed away, no one has made fried ribbonfish since."

"Later, she tried to make it herself, but she always felt that it wasn't the right taste."

"So after I got back tonight, I've been thinking a lot. Is it possible for anyone in this world to stand firmly by another person's side forever? No matter who it is, they will always leave, no matter the reason, whether it's subjective or objective..."

The room suddenly fell silent.

Mu Jia began to regret saying all that nonsense to him.

I think so.

"What?" She suddenly looked up.

"I think there are people who stand firmly in their positions."

I don't deny that many relationships in this world come and go, as light as a feather. But there are still some people who consider others the meaning of their lives; these people won't leave. Even if, as you said, they eventually have to leave, it's just that they're accompanying each other in a different way.

"Ah..." Mu Jia seemed completely taken aback by his words, a look of surprise flashing in her eyes. "Is...is that so?"

Chu Chiyi looked at her and saw that her eyes were filled with tears. Because she was tilting her head slightly to look at him, her eyes were crystal clear.

He paused for a moment, and after a few seconds, he realized that he was lost in thought.

The next second, as if he had finally made up his mind, he opened his mouth again.

Before he could say anything, he suddenly saw Mu Jia wipe away the tears in her eyes and smile at him, "So tonight, it wasn't entirely because you acted inhumanly in my dream. But I'll accept this belated apology!"

Before she could finish speaking, he suddenly turned his head and kissed her.

"Um... what are you doing?"

"I'm sorry." After kissing her for a while, he finally let go of her. "I don't really know how to comfort you."

"...Who needs your comfort?"

His kisses suddenly began to travel up her lips to her ears, then turned back and traveled down her neck.

"It seems this is the only way to comfort you..."

His intentions were as clear as day. Mu Jia was speechless and pushed him away, saying, "Get lost! Are you trying to comfort me or yourself?"

The temperature in the room seemed to start rising rapidly again. Just then, Mu Jia's phone, which was on the bedside table, suddenly rang.

"Wait...let me take a look first..." She was worried it might be some kind of job posting.

Upon picking it up and taking a look, his expression indeed cleared up considerably.

She stared at the words for a few seconds, hesitated for a moment, then suddenly pushed him away and sat up.

Then, Chu Chiyi watched her get out of bed, quickly take a shower, and then return to take clothes out of the closet in the room to change.

Regardless of the fact that it's past midnight, as a man, when things are at a critical moment, no matter how calm you are normally, who could resist asking questions right now?

"What's wrong? Where are you going?"

"Something came up, you should go to sleep first, don't wait for me tonight." Mu Jia had already put on a beige sweatshirt, and her slim jeans hugged her curves, highlighting her slender waist and long legs.

"What's up?"

"It's important business."

"What important matter is it?"

Her patience finally ran out under his relentless questioning.

"..."

Perhaps because the eerie silence in the space had lasted for too long, Mu Jia suddenly turned around and smiled sweetly at Chu Chiyi.

With a smile that carried a hint of apology, neither too much nor too little, genuine and half-fake: "I'm sorry, if it's really not possible, could you... lend me this?"

"..."

"Forget it, no need to wash it, just throw it away for me."

"..."

After saying that, she glanced at his face, and before he could say anything, she suddenly ran over a few steps and kissed him on the cheek. "Thank you, brother!"

After all, you can't hit someone who's smiling, so they won't refuse, right?
