Sandalwood Floating
The boy obediently followed An Luoyi back to Chaoyun Palace. She ordered the fairy servant to take the little boy to bathe and prepared a new set of clothes for him.
Seeing that the boy was reluctant to leave, An Luoyi asked, "Is there any problem?"
The boy shook his head shyly and stood still. He was about the same height as An Luoyi, and as long as he raised his head, he could enter the other's sight without any scruples. The two looked at each other for a while, and finally An Luoyi compromised and said, "I'll take you there."
The boy was happy now. He timidly tugged at the corner of An Luoyi's clothes, his big eyes twinkling as if asking, "Why don't you leave?"
An Luoyi didn't like being touched by others. After thinking about it, she took the hem of the boy's clothes back and turned it into a ribbon for him to hold. "Let's go."
The boy felt a little lost. Along the way, he peeked at An Luoyi who was walking in front of him like a little thief. Every time he glanced at her, he quickly lowered his head, glanced again and lowered his head again, as if he had done something bad and was afraid of being caught, or as if he was thinking about something new.
"We're here." An Luoyi stopped, but the boy continued to move forward as if he had lost his soul. If An Luoyi hadn't stretched out his hand to form a barrier, he would have crashed into him.
The boy bumped into An Luoyi's palm through the barrier. He stumbled a few steps, a blush forming on his forehead. Then he raised his doe-like eyes and said, "I'm sorry."
An Luoyi immediately put away the barrier and asked with concern: "Are you okay? I didn't mean to do that. I'm just not used to being touched."
"It's okay." The boy said with his eyebrows lowered.
He said that he was fine, but he looked submissive. An Luoyi was a little worried and sent him to the bathhouse before leaving.
Before leaving, she said seriously, "There are differences between men and women. I don't have any male servants here. You can wash yourself. Your change of clothes is placed by the pool."
The boy took off his dirty clothes and soaked in the misty pool. Since he transformed, he has been observing all the time, observing different people and different things, but no one could attract him as deeply as An Luoyi. He... wanted to stay with An Luoyi!
The lamplight in front of the desk was dim. An Luoyi picked up a book from the storage cabinet and flipped through half of it in just a few minutes. Suddenly, a creaking sound came from the door. An Luoyi closed the book and asked, "Who's outside?"
"It's my sister." An embarrassed voice came in through the doors and windows.
An Luoyi's mind lit up, and he was mesmerized by the sight... Calculating the time, he should have finished his shower. The boy pushed open the door and walked in, his long, wet hair cascading over his shoulders. An Luoyi looked closer and immediately turned his head away. His clothes were layered and distorted, almost like he was just wearing a piece of cloth. His smooth shoulders could still be vaguely seen.
"Why... did you come here without putting on your clothes?" An Luoyi asked sideways.
The boy pulled his shaky clothes up: "I can't wear this."
"Then why don't you call for help?"
"Aren't clothes meant to cover the body? It's the same if I put them on."
"Forget it..." An Luoyi pushed the door open and walked out, leaving the boy alone in the room, puzzled.
After a while, a male servant entered the room and said, "Young Master, I am here on the orders of the Saint to teach you how to dress..."
The boy said bluntly, "Why didn't you come in person?"
"This..." The male servant thought that this man was so bold that he must be the Saint's distinguished guest, so he did not dare to neglect him, "I don't know..."
There was a hint of displeasure in the boy's eyes, but he obeyed obediently.
With a creaky sound, the door opened from the inside. The male servant respectfully walked up to An Luoyi and said, "Saint, I have completed the task you assigned me. Is there anything else you would like me to do?"
An Luoyi looked at the boy and saw that he was indeed well dressed. She couldn't help but sigh that he looked much more handsome after dressing up. She stood up straight and said to the waiter, "Okay, you can go back."
The male servant slowly retreated, and An Luoyi said to the boy, "Come in with me."
One of them was sitting and the other was standing. The one standing looked a little restrained, while the one sitting had a serious expression.
"What's your name?"
"I... don't have a name."
"No name? Then where do you come from?"
"I... I don't know... I seem to have been in the Imperial Garden the moment I opened my eyes."
"What? I see your true form is constantly emitting smoke, and your transformed form is covered in mud. Could it be that you are a dust demon that has only been given some pointers?"
The boy said uncertainly: "Maybe."
"In that case, I'll send you to the underworld. Maybe it's a suitable place for you to live." An Luoyi said seriously.
After hearing this, the boy tugged at An Luoyi's sleeve tightly and shook his head, "I don't want it."
An Luoyi was a little embarrassed: "But this is the Ninth Heaven, monsters are never allowed to exist here. If you are discovered here, you will die."
The boy cried anxiously and shook his head. He sobbed and said, "Please let me stay."
The boy's cries piqued the curiosity of many immortal servants, but they didn't dare peek due to the Saint's majesty. An Luoyi was troubled. Letting him cry like this wasn't an option. Finally, after much hesitation, she said, "You can stay, but you must remain by my side as a fairy child and strictly abide by the Nine Heavens rules. I will conceal your true identity so no one can discover your identity as a demon."
"I do!" the boy stopped crying and said excitedly.
An Luoyi was startled by the boy's sudden change from stormy to sunny. After coming to her senses, she smiled softly as if bathed in a spring breeze: "Then go find the fairy sister at the door to arrange accommodation."
The boy didn't move at all, as if he was stunned.
An Luoyi woke him up: "Is there anything else?"
The boy stammered, "No, no... Sister, you look so pretty when you smile. Please smile at me more in the future."
The boy's random words made An Luoyi blush. She straightened herself and said in a cold tone, "Go quickly."
The boy suppressed his joy and jumped to push the door. As soon as he stepped out, he heard An Luoyi say, "Wait."
"What's wrong, sister?" the boy asked with wide eyes.
An Luoyi stood up and walked out of the door. The bright moon was hanging in the sky at night, rippling the lake, and the breeze brought bursts of sandalwood fragrance... It really fits the saying "Sparse shadows slant across the shallow water, and faint fragrance floats in the moonlight at dusk."
"You don't have a name yet, so I'll call you Fu Tan."
"Futan... I have a name now!" The boy was delighted. "Thank you, sister!"
"You are wrong." An Luoyi corrected softly, "You are my fairy boy now, you should call me Saint Lady."
Fu Tan nodded vigorously and said happily, "Yes! Saint Lady."
The next day, the sun rose and the breeze blew gently, and An Luoyi started meditating and doing morning exercises early in the morning.
It's time to go to the Mother... Today is the first day of studying with Qianyu, and An Luoyi is quite looking forward to it.
"Sister! Where are you going?" Fu Tan trotted over with sleepy eyes.
An Luoyi glanced at him and said, "Didn't I ask the immortal servant to teach you how to dress? Why are your clothes still so messy?"
Although Fu Tan's clothes were still messy, he looked much better than when he just got out of the bath last night.
"I'm sorry, sister, I haven't mastered it yet..." Fu Tan lowered his head.
"You said you should call me Saint." An Luoyi reminded him.
"I understand, sister...it's not! The Saint!" Fu Tan said in panic.
"Alas." An Luoyi sighed as if giving up, "It's up to you."
"Okay, sister!" Fu Tan showed a sly smile.
After saying that, An Luoyi picked up her two swords and headed out. Fu Tan hurriedly stopped her: "Sister, you haven't told me where you are going yet?"
"Of course I'm going to class." An Luoyi said coldly, "Why are you stopping me?"
Fu Tan repeated his old trick, opening his doe-like eyes and saying, "I want to go, too."
"No!" An Luoyi refused without a second thought, "The Mother is so powerful that she will definitely be able to see your identity. This is not safe."
"But……"
"I said no and it means no." An Luoyi refused decisively again, "Just stay in the hall and wait for me to come back."
This time, An Luoyi left without waiting for Fu Tan to refute. Fu Tan stayed where he was with a resentful expression on his face.
When An Luoyi and Mu Qianyu met, they were very happy and encouraged each other, and their cultivation efficiency became better than before.
"By the way, what happened to that little demon yesterday?" Mu Qianyu asked on a whim.
An Luoyi pursed her lips and said in a whirlwind of thought, "It's already been sent away."
Mu Qianyu was relieved and said, "That's fine. The Nine Heavens don't allow monsters to exist. Keeping him here would be a hidden danger. It's best to send him away."
"Yeah." An Luoyi said calmly.
In the evening, An Luoyi returned to Chaoyun Palace tiredly. In addition to practicing every day, she also had to study and handle government affairs, so she naturally got out of school later than Mu Qianyu.
"Saintess." The immortal servants in Chaoyun Palace bowed and welcomed their master back.
An Luoyi's phoenix eyebrows and bright eyes were as cold and intimidating as ever: "Did Fu Tan stay in the palace well today?"
A fairy servant came forward and replied, "Saint, there is nothing unusual."
"Okay." An Luoyi raised his chin slightly to indicate that he understood.
She had just returned to her bedroom when a dark figure suddenly rushed towards her. An Luoyi shot a flash of light without hesitation: "Who?"
Fu Tan was beaten so hard that he sat on the ground. He originally wanted to scare An Luoyi to avenge what happened early in the morning, but he didn't expect to be beaten as an assassin. Thinking of this, he felt even more wronged and cried almost instinctively. His eyes were like faucets, unable to stop the tears.
"You..." An Luoyi was startled at first and then immediately squatted down to check Fu Tan's condition.
Fortunately, I didn't hit him too hard, and Fu Tan just got some scrapes when he fell.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. It was too dark just now and I didn't see clearly that it was you." An Luoyi comforted him anxiously.
But Fu Tan didn't listen to anything and just kept crying. An Luoyi had no choice but to apologize again: "I'm sorry, I was really wrong, please don't cry."
Fu Tan cried for a long time before he finally came to his senses. He licked his tears with his tongue and said with disgust, "They're salty."
An Luoyi's turbulent mood finally calmed down: "Don't cry anymore."
Fu Tan wiped away a tear and asked in a silly manner, "What is this?"
An Luoyi patiently explained: "These are tears."
"What are tears?"
"That's it..." An Luoyi couldn't explain the words when they came to her lips. She thought for a long time and said, "Qianyu said that she would cry when she was sad."
"Did your sister shed tears too?"
"Me? Not yet..." An Luoyi recalled that he really didn't remember having experienced such a thing.
"Then I hope my sister will never cry!" Fu Tan said naively.
"Why?" An Luoyi tilted his head.
"Because I felt so sad just now. Is this sadness? I don't want my sister to be like me..."
"..." An Luoyi lowered his head and said, "I'm sorry for making you sad."
An Luoyi apologized repeatedly. Fu Tan wanted to say that he did not blame her, but then he changed his mind and continued to follow An Luoyi's words.
"Then sister, will you promise to let me go out with you?" Fu Tan said in a coquettish tone.
"Hmm..." An Luoyi hesitated and said, "This won't work..."
"Hmph, sister says sorry but she doesn't really mean it at all." Fu Tan curled his lips as if he was angry.
"No... I really can't take you with me. It's very dangerous outside." An Luoyi felt that since she met this little clingy guy, she had said more in the past two days than in the past two years. She was puzzled. She usually looked cold and aloof, and the immortal servants avoided her when they saw her, but this person was not afraid of her at all.
Fu Tan said expectantly, "I'm not afraid. I just want to be with my sister!"
An Luoyi frowned deeply: "But..."
"Oh, I really won't cause any trouble to my sister. I can just find a place to hide from the Immortal Lord while my sister goes to practice." Fu Tan continued.
"Well... let's do this. I absolutely cannot take you to Fengming Palace. If you feel bored, you can go for a walk outside Chaoyun Palace, but you must be accompanied by an immortal servant from the palace. It is best to go to a secluded place with no one around. Remember not to cause trouble." This was An Luoyi's biggest concession. If Fu Tan asked for it again, she would get angry.
Fu Tan felt that it was enough and he should call it a day. He smiled sweetly and said flatteringly, "Thank you, sister."
An Luoyi was very satisfied with Fu Tan's answer. On a whim, she said, "I have nothing to do tomorrow, so I can take you to get familiar with the Immortal Palace."
"That's great." Fu Tan's pupils widened and all the previous grievances disappeared.
