Chapter 107: Liu Rushi Returns to Her Old Occupation
Just as Chen was about to say something else, a maid ran over and said, "Madam! The master is awake!"
This sentence made Chen and Liu Rushi feel relieved. Liu Rushi felt that her patron had finally woken up. Her position in the family was preserved. Chen believed that the master's life was her hope.

Qian Qianyi was indeed dead, the moment Zhao Xiaokun left the Qian residence. Chen had told Qian Qianyi the bad news when he had just woken up, and he couldn't bear the shock. Adding to his illness, Qian Qianyi passed away without anyone to treat him.
Chen sat beside Qian Qianyi, gently wiping away her tears. She covered Qian Qianyi's body with a blanket and called in the servants. She said, "The master still couldn't be saved! Three days later, Zhao Xiaokun heard that Qian Qianyi, the leader of the Donglin clan, had died of illness, and that Chen had committed suicide to be buried with him. Fang Xinyu said, "Now many people are demanding the money owed to the Qian family! Yingtian Prefecture has sold off the Qian family's land, house, and servants to help them pay off their debts!"
"What about Liu Rushi? Wasn't she also sold out by Chen?" Zhao Xiaokun asked.
"No! Chen kicked her out on the day Qian Qianyi died! She is now recuperating in a houseboat. I guess she is planning to go back to her old job!" Fang Xinyu said.
