Chapter 277 The Princess's Journey Across Time

Chapter 277 The Princess's Journey Across Time

Late at night, Princess Kunxing felt cold all over, so she slowly woke up. She opened her eyes and found herself lying on the ground.

She was very confused. How could she be put on the ground? What were the servants in the mansion doing? She was very angry!

She sat up and noticed that the lights were on all around her. There was a pungent smell in the air, and a car suddenly passed by.

She was so scared that she immediately stood up and held the iron railing next to her, looking at the surrounding environment in fear.

The streetlights on the roadside, the tall buildings not far away, and the cars that sped past on the flat road made her feel terrified.

It was around 3 a.m. and there were not many people on the street. If it weren't for her attire, not to mention the many people watching, someone would have called the police just because she was lying on the side of the road.

Princess Kunxing hadn't put on shoes, only cotton socks. Zhao Xiaofei had brought these from the modern era, and they were thick, so they didn't feel too far from her feet when she walked. She wore only a round-necked shirt and a pleated skirt. Her hair was disheveled, and the wind blew her hair, making her look like a madwoman, a real mess.

Princess Kunxing quickly calmed down and looked at the jade pendant in her hand. Its color had changed, becoming much lighter than before. She remembered Zhao Xiaofei telling her that he had come back from hundreds of years ago thanks to this jade pendant. Only he could manipulate it to travel back and forth.

She gently stroked the jade pendant, knowing that she could use it now. The first thing she thought of was looking for her eldest brother Zhao Xiaokun. She needed Zhao Xiaokun to help her go back to find her husband.

But my husband didn't tell me where he lived. How could I find him?

Yamen! Yes! I could go to the Yamen and ask the people there to help me find a husband.

But where is the government office here? She doesn't know how to do things, so she can only walk alone on the road, feeling the northwest wind.

Occasionally, a vehicle would slow down, and the people in the car would curse inwardly: "Is this woman crazy? Why is she wearing Hanfu at night and scaring people away?" Then they would step on the accelerator and continue forward.

Princess Kunxing could only look where the light was bright and walk towards that place.

As she walked, she suddenly saw a red cross glowing in the night. On it was written: Jiang something hospital! In fact, it was Jiangning Hospital. Princess Kunxing didn't recognize the simplified Chinese characters for "Ning" and "Yi".

She walked towards the hospital entrance. When she saw a nurse, she immediately pulled her aside and asked, "Girl! I want to ask how to get to the government office. I'm lost and I want to go home!"

"You..." The nurse looked at Princess Kunxing's attire and felt that she spoke strangely, like a madman. The nurse was a little scared. "What are you doing? What government office?"

"I'm looking for my husband's family, but I can't find them. I can only ask the people in the government office to help me find them. I will pay them!" Princess Kunxing said hurriedly.

"You mean the police station? Look at the door! There's a light on there, and there are people there! Go there, someone will help you. I have something to do, so I'll leave first!" The young nurse quickly showed the way. She wanted to get rid of this crazy woman as soon as possible.

Princess Kunxing followed the instructions and saw a small house at the entrance of the hospital. The lights at the door were flickering. She turned around to greet and thank the nurse, but found that the young nurse had run away in fear.

Princess Kunxing then walked towards the police station at the door. The police officer on duty stopped her and asked, "Miss! Is there something wrong?"

"I'm lost. I want you to help me find someone. I want to go home!" said Princess Kunxing.

"Lost? Don't you know where you live?" said the police officer on duty.

Princess Kunxing shook her head. The police officer on duty looked her over carefully. Pointing to the next room, she said, "Go sit in the next room for a while. I'll be right there!"

Princess Kunxing looked in the direction of the police officer on duty and saw a large room with several people inside, some sitting, some standing, and one lying on the ground, apparently drunk.

Princess Kunxing nodded and went to the room. She found an empty bench and sat down. Not far away, a drunk man lay there. He seemed awake, though a little dazed. His eyes were blurry, and he didn't know where he was.

After a while, a female police officer came. She came to Princess Kunxing and asked, "Miss! What's your name? Do you know your home phone number?"

"Phone number?" Princess Kunxing didn't understand what it meant and shook her head.

"What's your name?" asked the policewoman.

"My name is Kunxing!" Princess Kunxing used her own title as her name.

"Then do you know the house number of your home?" the policewoman asked.

Princess Kunxing continued to shake her head. The policewoman looked at the woman before her. She was clueless, her eyes were dazed, and she felt something was wrong with her. She might be mentally ill, perhaps having escaped because her family hadn't been watching her.

"Is there anyone else at home?" asked the policewoman.

"My husband's elder brother! I'm looking for him!" said Princess Kunxing.

"Husband? Your husband?" the policewoman asked. I thought, this girl is wearing Hanfu, she's too into the role! Even her name is so weird, my sister doesn't wear Hanfu like this every day!

"Yes! My husband's name is Zhao Xiaofei, and his elder brother's name is Zhao Xiaokun!" said Princess Kunxing.

"Oh! Then..." Before the policewoman could finish her words, the drunk man next to her came over and interrupted, "You said Zhao Xiaofei is your husband?"

The policewoman turned around and asked, "Do you know each other?"

"I know her husband and his elder brother! I don't know her!" the drunk said. Apparently, he was sober.

The policewoman suddenly asked cautiously, "Do you know what her husband looks like? And what does her eldest brother look like?"

So the drunk man described the appearance of Zhao Xiaofei and Zhao Xiaokun. Princess Kunxing immediately smiled and said, "You really know them! Great, take me to find him, I have something urgent to do!"

The policewoman, however, watched Princess Kunxing and said to the drunk, "Young man, do you have their phone number? Call them and have them come pick her up!" The policewoman remained vigilant. There were so many bad guys these days. What if this guy, even though they knew her, abducted her? Or what if he developed evil intentions and took advantage of her? Don't be fooled by her disheveled hair, but a closer look reveals she's truly a beauty!

"I'll call! I'll call now!" The drunk man took out his cell phone and started looking for a number.

The drunk in front of him was none other than Jiang Xiaomei's younger brother, Jiang Di. He had collapsed drunk on the street and was taken to the police station to sober up! When he woke up, he found himself sitting on the ground in the police station. Just as he was about to go home, he heard a woman next to him say that her husband was Zhao Xiaofei and his older brother was Zhao Xiaokun.

How could such a coincidence happen that my husband's name is the same as Zhao Xiaofei's? And my husband's eldest brother also has the same name as Zhao Xiaofei's eldest brother. Hence the conversation just now.
