Chapter 46: First Murder

"Husband, turn around and don't look!" said Li Sihong.

"Why?" Zhao Xiaofei asked.

"I look so ugly when I brush my teeth. I don't want my husband to see me looking so ugly." Li Sihong said shyly.

"There are so many things to do! Okay! I'll go downstairs and look at the boxes. I'll pick something out for you to try on later." Zhao Xiaofei said.

Li Sihong didn't ask what it was, just hoping he'd hurry down so she could brush her teeth. Zhao Xiaofei went downstairs, opened one of the boxes, and took out a bulletproof vest. He weighed it in his hand and it felt a bit heavy. So he tried to open another box, but just as his hand touched it, it suddenly opened on its own. A man jumped out and took out a knife and stabbed Zhao Xiaofei in the heart.

Zhao Xiaofei hadn't even put down the bulletproof vest when the knife pierced it. He didn't react until the knife pierced the vest. He turned and ran, shouting, "There's an assassin! Someone wants to kill me!"

Jack continued to chase Zhao Xiaofei with the knife in his hand. He knew that this mission had failed. He could not take the money, but Zhao Xiaofei should have seen his face. He had to kill him to prevent his identity from being exposed.

Zhao Xiaofei had never burst out with such speed before. He immediately ran out of the courtyard. Xiao Wen and Xiao Wu were standing guard at the door. Seeing their young master appear, and having just heard him cry for help, they immediately drew their swords, let the young master go first, and then they both rushed towards Jack.

Jack was surprised by the sudden appearance of two men. He quickly dodged, avoiding the incoming blades. As a mercenary, Jack had extensive experience in killing and exceptional combat skills. Seeing the two men's youth, he knew they likely had little combat experience. He beckoned them forward, ready to find a flaw in their attack and finish them off with a single blow.

Unfortunately, he didn't realize he wasn't in modern society anymore, and he had no idea how many people were around him. Xiao Wen and Xiao Wu weren't stupid either; they could tell the newcomer was a master. Xiao Si had also learned some martial arts from them, and the two brothers immediately moved closer. Just as they were getting closer, Jack attacked.

The knife was aimed at Xiao Wu. As Xiao Wu raised his knife, Jack's knife was already there. Fortunately, Xiao Wu reacted quickly and turned around, and the knife stabbed into his left arm. Xiao Wen was a little slower to react and retaliated with a knife. Unfortunately, Jack had already withdrawn his hand, turned away, and then stabbed him with the knife.

Suddenly, a chair flew over and hit Jack. Jack's knife was deflected by the chair and stabbed into Xiao Wen's shoulder. Then a sword stabbed over and stabbed Jack's eye accurately.

With a "pop" sound, the sound of the eyeball bursting was heard, followed by a heart-wrenching scream. But even so, Jack tried his best to calm himself down immediately. He grasped the sword with his hand and quickly pulled it out of his left eye.

Zhao Xiaofei had stabbed her with the sword, and Li Sihong had thrown the chair. The sword was actually just a decorative piece on the wall, unsharpened. Li Sihong heard her husband yelling again about an assassin and hurried downstairs to investigate. When she saw Zhao Xiaofei about to strike the assassin with the sword, she decided to throw the chair first to distract him, thus increasing her husband's chances of success.

Little did he know that in his haste, Zhao Xiaofei's sword strike was so precise that it pierced the assassin's left eye. Frightened, Zhao Xiaofei dropped his sword. It was the first time he had injured someone with a weapon, and he felt a wave of discomfort and fear. After all, he had grown up in modern society and had fought since childhood, but he had never killed someone with a knife or a sword! Seeing such a bloody scene, he was a little confused.

Jack's screams and the act of pulling out the sword sent chills down Zhao Xiaofei's spines. What kind of person could pull that off? Remember in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Xiahou Dun was shot in the eye. He pulled out the sword, his eye on his head. He said, "This is a gift from my parents' menstrual blood, I can't throw it away," and then he plucked the eye from the arrow and ate it.

Jack covered his eyes and rushed out with a knife. Only then did Zhao Xiaofei realize that this grandson was missing an eye and his fighting ability must be poor. He took the opportunity to kill this grandson, not caring whether it was disgusting or not. He took the knife from Xiao Wen, who was in a daze, and swung it at the assassin.

Zhao Xiaofei was right. Jack wanted nothing more than to escape. Only by escaping and letting Huang Qi see him would he have a chance of survival. Unfortunately, he couldn't see, and Zhao Xiaofei's knife slashed down with a chilling gust of wind. Jack instinctively blocked it with his right hand, but it was useless. Zhao Xiaofei chopped down with all his might. Jack's right hand was instantly severed, and blood suddenly spurted out from his severed wrist.

Then came another stab, this time with the tip of the knife, stabbing the assassin's neck. Severing the artery, Jack covered the neck with his other hand, but with every breath, blood gushed out. It flowed down his hand.

With a clang, the knife fell to the ground. Zhao Xiaofei knelt on the ground and vomited. He remembered that the last time he saw someone being killed was when he was working in the capital for epidemic prevention. At that time, someone else was killing people and he watched. This time, killing someone with his own hands felt completely different. His hands were shaking and his mind was blank. He kept muttering, "I killed someone! I killed someone!"

Xiao Wen and Xiao Wu approached, clutching their wounds, to block the body. Li Sihong patted him on the back. It took a long time for Zhao Xiaofei to recover, but his legs were too weak to move. Xiao Wen went to carry the body away, while Xiao Wu and Li Sihong helped Zhao Xiaofei up to the second floor. Jinbao had been cooking in the backyard and didn't see what was happening.

Li Sihong then began to pour water for him and change his clothes. Zhao Xiaofei was stimulated and began to feel hot. However, he felt cold all over and kept saying that he was cold.
