After eating and drinking, the moon was already above the willow trees.
Yu Bai stood up and went home. Jiang Zhou stood up almost immediately and said, "Miss Yu, let me take you home."
Yu Bai also said politely: "Mr. Jiang, it's not a big deal. I can go back by myself. It's very close."
"It's not a bother," Jiang Zhou insisted, a faint smile on his lips, "Besides, there are some things I want to talk to Miss Yu alone."
He emphasized the word "alone" a little, his eyes open.
Yu Bai's eyes moved slightly. With such persistence, it seemed that he had other intentions.
"Then I'll trouble you, Mr. Jiang."
The car drove smoothly out of the Li family courtyard. The night was as dark as ink, and there was only the sound of faint breathing in the car.
After driving past two blocks, Jiang Zhou broke the silence and said in a steady voice, "Miss Yu, please forgive my intrusion."
Yu Bai turned his head to look at him, the light and shadow of the street lamp dancing on his well-defined profile.
"From the initial awakening and calming incense, to the ring that quickly improved my physical condition, and to tonight... those delicious vegetables and eggs."
Jiang Zhou paused, his tone firm.
"Miss Yu must be hiding a big secret that no one knows about, right?"
His eyes were sharp, as if they could see through everything.
Yu Bai's fingers gripping the seatbelt tightened slightly, but his expression remained calm. "Mr. Jiang, you're joking."
Jiang Zhou chuckled, not discouraged by her denial, but spoke frankly.
"Don't worry, although I am very interested in your secret, I, Jiang Zhou, and the entire Jiang family will never do anything stupid like killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. We value long-term cooperation and trust more."
These words are both a test and a guarantee.
Yu Bai was silent for a few seconds, the neon lights outside the car window were bizarre.
She slowly said, "Mr. Jiang, since Professor Li is willing to introduce me to the Jiang family, it means that the Jiang family can be trusted."
She didn't admit it directly, but her words were undoubtedly a tacit admission.
The deeper meaning is that she believes in Li Baizhong's vision and believes that the Jiang family is not the kind of family that would do something dirty just because of covetousness.
This sentence was like a reassurance, which made Jiang Zhou's tense heartstrings relax a little.
He could hear the consideration and trust in Yu Bai's words, and an indescribable sense of comfort surged in his heart.
"Of course I trust Professor Li's judgment."
Jiang Zhou raised a sincere smile at the corner of his lips, and the atmosphere in the car became much more relaxed.
He got to the point.
"In that case, Miss Yu, why don't we talk openly about cooperation?"
"Whether it's your incense, ring, or today's vegetables, the Jiang family is very interested."
"If you are willing, the Jiang family can provide funding, personnel, and channels to fully support you."
This is already a great sincerity.
Yu Bai pondered for a moment and said, "Mr. Jiang, thank you for your appreciation of the Jiang family. However, the incense and rings you mentioned are limited by the special materials and craftsmanship, so they cannot be mass-produced, and large-scale promotion is not possible."
When Jiang Zhou heard this, a hint of subtle disappointment flashed across his eyes, but it was also expected.
Yu Baihua suddenly changed the subject.
"However... you can try those vegetables, fruits, eggs, and meat you ate tonight. However, I currently have the cultivation methods, but I don't have enough land, stable manpower, or sufficient resources to start."
"I can guarantee that the quality of these things far exceeds any so-called special supplies on the market. Long-term consumption is also beneficial to the body. If the Jiang family is interested, we may be able to discuss this aspect."
Jiang Zhou's car quickly disappeared into the night.
Yu Bai closed the gate, blocking out the noise from the outside world.
Returning to the familiar courtyard, I took off the calm and composed disguise in front of outsiders, and a rare feeling of fatigue came over me like a tide.
This kind of fatigue is not physical exhaustion, but more comes from the high tension of the mind.
In that flawless confrontation with Jiang Zhou, Yu Bai had mobilized almost all of his experience and vigilance.
Even every word and every look needs to be carefully considered, for fear of accidentally revealing something.
This feeling of exhaustion is three times more tiring than working in the mountains for a day.
So after washing up, Yu Bai lay down on the bed with his clothes on.
Almost the moment she touched the pillow, the tiredness could no longer be resisted and dragged her into a deep sleep without even a trace of dream.
I don't know how long it took, but in the chaos, a vague and anxious call drifted into my ears.
"Miss Yu...Miss Yu..."
The voice was clear, as if coming from a very far away place, yet also as if it was right next to my ear.
Yu Bai shuddered all over and suddenly woke up from his deep sleep!
Fusu!
It’s Fusu’s voice!
Yu Bai subconsciously touched his face to dispel the sleepiness.
Then he flashed and disappeared into space.
Beside the stone table in the space, Fusu, wearing a moon-white robe, sat upright like a pine tree.
He had a cup of tea at his hand. When he saw Yu Bai appear, a hint of apology flashed across his smiling eyes.
"I'm sorry to have frightened you." Fusu stood up and bowed, "I shouldn't have disturbed your sleep."
Yu Bai also returned the greeting, but just waved his hand: "It's okay, I've slept long enough."
She looked down at the clock - it was five in the morning, not yet dawn. She was in a deep sleep, and with the crystal core in her body, this little time was enough for her to recover.
After the two sat down, Yu Bai spoke first. She looked at Fusu with burning eyes and said without beating around the bush: "Where have you been these days?"
Fusu was stunned for a moment, then nodded calmly and said, "These days, I have been cooperating with father to clean up the internal affairs."
