Chapter 174 The Cyclic World 2
It really was a preview, Lin Xia thought speechlessly. What kind of world is this? Throwing nuclear bombs around for fun? But looking around at the ground, all that was there were unconscious people. Who was this preview for?
Lin Xia glanced at the drone in the sky, which was continuously counting down—or rather, playing it in real time. She scanned her surroundings with her mental energy; she didn't have a map and was afraid of wasting her time.
It's always the same planet, but the map is different each time. It would be much more convenient if the map were the same every time.
She noticed that many people were carrying maps. After searching for a while, she found a dead person. Looking at the drone in the sky, Lin Xia wrapped her clothes around her mouth and nose and put on a hat and gloves.
He covered himself up completely before jumping down from the tree, rummaged through a few people, and took the map out of one of their bags.
After looking at the map for a while, Lin Xia heard people waking up one after another. Without further delay, she knew she couldn't turn back and had to keep going. Although the mountain path was difficult, it was nothing to Lin Xia.
As she continued upwards, the drone actually followed her. Lin Xia picked up a pebble and pierced the drone through, sending it crashing to the ground.
When Lin Xia reached the top of the mountain and saw the rolling mountains, her face turned green. She glanced behind her and could faintly hear crying, and she could also see people moving in her direction.
This isn't a preview. Besides her, who else could leave this place? This isn't an escape countdown; it's a death countdown.
Lin Xia turned around, suppressed her emotions, and disappeared. When she reappeared, she was already halfway up the mountain. After teleporting for a while, Lin Xia's mental energy couldn't take it anymore, so she switched to running.
She was fast and reacted even faster, moving through the mountains and forests as if on flat ground. After running for more than five hours, Lin Xia climbed to the top of the mountain and saw that it was no longer a mountain. Only then did she stand there, supporting her knees, and stop running.
But when she saw the people climbing up the mountain, she had a bad feeling. She used her mental energy to probe the distance and saw the countdown drone. She was completely stunned.
[Countdown: 30 minutes...]
Lin Xia turned around and jumped back into the ravine. Her spiritual power surged, the soil flew up, and an underground passage was instantly formed. The earthen walls solidified, and the passage was not straight but had an extremely steep slope.
Lin Xia dug straight down, throwing the excess soil into the space. The passage spiraled downwards, and after digging for about ten meters, she moved the passage further away from the spiral passage for a while before stopping.
The expansion began, and the entire space became larger. Lin Xia created a space where he could stand upright, approximately 2 meters long, wide, and high. The space began to solidify, with earth and metal energies intertwining to make it extremely sturdy.
But less than ten minutes later, Lin Xia heard someone sliding down the spiral tunnel. She frowned slightly and started digging straight down in this space again, blocking and solidifying the tunnel before those people came down.
Given the obvious abnormality, she didn't want to expose herself, so she dug down nearly five meters. She paused, solidified the space she was in, and probed downwards and to the left with her mental energy.
We were so focused on digging the tunnel that we didn't even notice there was actually a shelter here.
After scanning the building with her mental energy, Lin Xia instantly teleported inside. As soon as she entered, she heard two loud bangs, and felt the building beneath her shake violently.
After waiting for a while, things calmed down. Lin Xia realized that the two explosions were actually not close to where they were, and the people in the underground shelter she had dug should be alright.
However, the explosion blocked all the roads in front and behind this place, so oxygen will be a big problem, and the radiation will probably cause great harm to the body.
Lin Xia enveloped her entire body with her spiritual power and surveyed the place. At first glance, it had a very high-tech feel to it. The entire passage was silver, simple and clear, and excessively quiet, without a sound.
Lin Xia walked forward, observing everything around her. She thought this was an underground shelter or some kind of base, but the further she walked, the less it seemed like it.
It was so quiet here that it seemed like no one was there, but as she approached the door in front of her, it opened with a 'whoosh,' and Lin Xia's sharp eyes looked at the place where she felt she was being scrutinized—a security camera.
Now that she had been discovered, Lin Xia made no attempt to avoid it. She stepped through the open gate and continued walking forward, finding no obstruction and not seeing a single living creature.
Finally, they reached the end. After walking for so long, Lin Xia realized that this was a spaceship. No wonder it could detect him; spiritual power could not make one invisible here.
After passing the cockpit, Lin Xia walked to a place that looked like a research lab. She stood at the door and saw a person wearing a silver jumpsuit inside. Above that person was a huge monitoring screen that could see anywhere on the spaceship.
The man turned around, sat down in the chair, and looked at Lin Xia. When Lin Xia saw his face, she was surprised for a moment; he was actually a human.
"Your superpower is amazing. Didn't you retreat with us?" The man looked very young, wore glasses, and had pale skin. As he spoke, the images on the monitor screen changed to various scenes of nuclear bombardment, and some of the images showed a countdown.
Lin Xia tried, but her mental energy couldn't penetrate the room. The man smiled and said, "No need to try. This is an alien spaceship. The aliens inside could destroy Earth with a single thought. The barrier they set up is not something Earthlings can break."
"Are you an alien?"
The man's lips curled up slightly: "I'm from Earth, an alien..." He looked to his right and raised his chin: "Isn't that right?"
Lin Xia looked over and saw a person who looked like an angel lying quietly in a sealed container, floating in the liquid inside.
It doesn't look like an angel, but it really has wings on its back, golden hair, white wings, and its appearance is somewhat similar to that of a Westerner.
Lin Xia exclaimed in surprise: "Angels? Are they aliens?"
"That's right, you're quite surprised, aren't you? The image of a god in the Western legends of the Blue Star people." The man's lips curled into a cryptic smile.
Lin Xia's eyes swept over the buttons: "Does the launch of the nuclear missile have anything to do with you?"
"Yeah, you should have seen it, wasn't it beautiful? Boom! Like fireworks." The man's eyes gleamed, as if he were talking about something interesting.
Lin Xia's face darkened: "Why did you do this?"
"How did you awaken your psychic abilities?" the man asked, his gaze scrutinizing Lin Xia.
Lin Xia looked at the several countdowns on the screen, which were almost up, and didn't want to waste time arguing with this person: "Stop all those countdowns!"
"Let me study you, and I'll stop." The man's smile was wicked. "If it really is a psychic ability, then it is indeed worth pausing my world-destroying pace."
