Chapter 24 Zombie World 3

Chapter 24 Zombie World 3

Chapter Twenty-Four

Lin Xia stood up, and they looked at her nervously. She could hear that the thing was not far away from them. One of them whispered, "Aren't you drawing its fire now?"

Of course she knew that, but she was afraid that if she didn't run, she wouldn't be able to escape soon. The noise was so loud that it would definitely attract the surrounding zombies. If she didn't leave now, she would be even less likely to escape when she was surrounded.

She pointed outside, and everyone looked out through the glass door. As the zombies walked in one after another, their expressions changed.

Lin Xia didn't touch the door. She quietly walked to the back, where there was an alley with not too many zombies. She opened the window, climbed out, and closed the window again. The people inside were still hesitating.

Lin Xia took off running, her steps light and silent, bypassing the zombies before they could react. But the monster that was chewing in the house suddenly stopped and looked in the direction Lin Xia had run.

With a swift movement, it crashed through the wall, revealing several people in the neighboring shop. The people were trembling with fear, but it didn't even glance at them. With a powerful push of its legs, it chased after Lin Xia.

Lin Xia seemed to sense something and glanced back. Just one glance sent chills down her spine; the thing was actually chasing after her.

She also saw the monster's appearance clearly. It looked like a toad, with bumpy skin. Its body was clung to its legs, and it could jump several meters with a single leap, revealing a large mouth on its abdomen. The mouth had no lips, but exposed jagged, sharp teeth, and a long tongue protruded from inside, sniffing for something.

Lin Xia was so frightened that she sped up even more, but the ugly thing seemed to have its sights set on her and was chasing her relentlessly. She knew she couldn't keep going like this; there were more and more zombies around her, and if she was surrounded, there was no use in being fast. She had to finish this quickly. She suddenly stopped, and the [Fire Element Card] appeared in her hand.

The energy of 30 transformed into a huge fireball that flew towards the monster. The monster was fast, but Lin Xia's fireball was guided by her mental power, so it had no way to avoid it. However, the moment the fireball hit, it curled up into a ball.

The fireball only burned its skin, making it hiss and scream, but it only burned its skin. It rolled on the ground and then pounced on Lin Xia. Before its body arrived, its tongue suddenly stretched out and wrapped around Lin Xia. The long tongue was like a snake's tongue, with a forked tip. Saliva dripped onto the ground, burning the cement floor with pits.

Lin Xia was somewhat surprised, but being physically strong and fast, she moved her feet, slid away, and retreated sharply. She didn't want to be disfigured...

Two throwing knives shot out rapidly. One was dodged, but the other pierced the tongue and landed on the ground, where the cement floor hissed and steamed as it was instantly corroded.

The monster opened its mouth wide and shrieked, as a huge fireball flew out and smashed into its gaping maw.

The monster suddenly transformed into a fireball, rolling around on the ground with a hissing sound. Its enormous body crushed the surrounding houses. Another throwing knife followed, flying in and out of its gaping maw. Lin Xia had no idea where its head was.

The monster's tail lashed out at incredible speed. Its speed was slower than before, and the sound of its tail whipping around was like thunder. It was whipping wildly, and Lin Xia was somewhat disheveled, but she still tried her best to dodge while continuing to stab the monster's tongue with her throwing knife.

Lin Xia controlled the fireball to smash it into the monster's mouth again. Seeing that the commotion had attracted the surrounding zombies, Lin Xia became a little anxious. Finally, the throwing knife seemed to have hit something with a different feel, and the monster suddenly stopped.

Lin Xia controlled the throwing knives, slicing them swiftly from the inside out, tearing the monster to shreds. Her mental energy swept over it, making her feel nauseous and almost vomit. She couldn't find the crystal core mentioned in the novel. It was a pity that the four throwing knives were now useless, corroded beyond recognition.

She pursed her lips, realizing she was overthinking things. Seeing that she was about to be surrounded, Lin Xia found a direction, and a fire dragon roared out, instantly clearing a path. She quickly flashed past, turning into a blur and rushing out of the encirclement.

Lin Xia glanced regretfully at the [Fire Element Card] that had disappeared from her hand. She didn't dare linger. The zombies weren't moving fast now, and their sense of smell wasn't as sharp. She had to find a place to hide quickly.

She exchanged for an attribute card: Mental Strength +1. After using it, her throbbing headache subsided considerably.

There are many self-built rural houses here. Probably because of the XX Group, the suburban villages here are quite prosperous, with many agritainment and accommodation businesses.

There were many cars parked on the side of the road. Lin Xia stepped onto a car, jumped, and grabbed the eaves of the houses. With a little effort, she flipped over.

Sitting on the roof, panting heavily, Lin Xia glanced down at the zombies huddled together below.

Thinking that close combat was likely, she put her hand in her pocket, and the [Fighting Technique] card in her hand flashed away.

Lin Xia closed her eyes and felt a force enter her body, transforming her muscles and deepening a certain muscle memory. All the fighting techniques in her mind went through her mind. Her mental strength was strong, and she memorized them almost instantly.

She stood up and began to move. Because of her superior physique, she had very precise control over her muscles. Combined with her mental memory, she became more and more skilled in her fighting. She finally realized that how much she mastered depended on her own will.

Attributes are the foundation of everything. Without high attributes, even if you learn something passively, you will only have a superficial understanding.

Seeing the people in the courtyard looking at her with envy and resentment, Lin Xia glanced at the zombies outside the house, feeling somewhat embarrassed. She stood up and walked away, using the eaves where there were eaves and the courtyard walls where there were no eaves. The zombies below followed her, reaching out and trying to pry her away.

Although Lin Xia felt a little scared, her hands and legs were even more steady, and she didn't slip a single step. Her throwing knives flew in and out of the zombie horde, like skewering candied hawthorns, one after another.

Deliberately making noise to lure the zombies away, she walked along a path strewn with corpses. When she reached an empty house, Lin Xia squatted on the wall and stopped making a sound. She used her throwing knives to harvest the zombies even faster, and they fell silently. The zombies further away had long since dispersed.

Jumping off the courtyard wall and sitting on the ground, Lin Xia rubbed her temples and exchanged for an attribute card: Mental Strength +1.

While mental energy is useful, it is also consumed very quickly. Now, a single attribute card that grants +1 mental energy is no longer enough to replenish her lost mental energy; it can only relieve her headache.

However, if she frequently increases her mental energy, her body might not be able to handle it. If she wants to stay in this world for ten days, she will still need to fight herself. Fortunately, she drew [Fighting Technique] this time, so she can practice close combat more.

Lin Xia looked at the blood on her body and felt a mix of emotions. In the past, she might have trembled and hesitated to kill a chicken, but after only a few days in the apocalypse, she had already killed people and seen those outside turn into monsters.

She didn't even have any adverse symptoms. I don't know whether to say she's highly adaptable or just incredibly skilled and daring. Looking at her attributes, I have to say that her ever-increasing attributes have indeed given her more confidence.
