Chapter 13 Assassin Attack

The purpose of the Hundred Schools Conference is for everyone to come together and debate the general trend of the world, but Lu Li's words yesterday have left the Hundred Schools speechless, and there is no point in continuing.

The next day, Guiguzi, along with Lu Li, bid farewell to the Hundred Schools and left Wangwu Mountain.

Before leaving, Ying Zheng gave Lu Li a waist token, which allowed him to enter and leave Xianyang Palace at any time.

Even Guiguzi was somewhat surprised; Ying Zheng, at such a young age, possessed such great spirit.

This action was taken only because of complete trust in Lu Li. Seeing Ying Zheng act in this way, they were also relieved that Lu Li had found a good ruler.

"Mr. Lu, take care!" Ying Zheng looked at Lu Li with some reluctance.

Although he wanted Lu Li to return to Xianyang with him, it was clearly not the right time yet.

When he personally leads the expedition, he will definitely come to welcome Lu Li out of the mountains!

"Your Majesty, until we meet again!"

The two sides bowed and said goodbye. Lu Li then followed Guiguzi and left Wangwu Mountain. Just as they were about to arrive at Yunmeng Mountain, they were unexpectedly blocked by a group of masked men.

Without a word, they practically drew their weapons and charged. Lu Li could tell these were Death Servants! They were highly trained and spoke almost no nonsense.

Lu Li drew the Heavenly Question Sword and stood behind Guiguzi.

"Cangwu, you escort Master first!"

To everyone's surprise, Guiguzi raised an eyebrow and said angrily, "When did I ever need your protection?"

"Master, you're getting on in years, please don't push yourself!"

There are already more than twenty masked men on the other side, and it's hard to say there aren't any hidden ones. Guiguzi is getting old; how can his old arms and legs withstand such a struggle?

Lu Li charged into the crowd and began fighting the masked men, while Cang Wu stood guard behind Gui Guzi, his heart filled with anxiety.

"You brat, why aren't you helping Li'er!"

Guiguzi was well aware of Lu Li's martial arts skills, even though he had studied swordsmanship with Jian Chen over the past year.

However, facing such well-trained Deadpool was still somewhat difficult. Although Cangwu was anxious, he would absolutely obey Lu Li's orders.

Lu Li told him to protect Guiguzi and leave, so he would never go against Lu Li's wishes.

Cangwu simply hoisted Guiguzi onto his shoulder and ran off, disappearing in a flash.

Seeing the two of them leave, Lu Li finally breathed a sigh of relief. He could still escape unscathed from dealing with these twenty-odd assassins.

But to everyone's surprise, more than twenty masked men suddenly appeared from the sky and completely surrounded Lu Li.

The number of people suddenly increased from more than twenty to more than fifty, and even Lu Li was sweating profusely at this point.

They could only fight and retreat, fleeing in the opposite direction from Guiguzi and his group.

But in the end, he was caught by these assassins in a forest, with nowhere to escape and nowhere to retreat.

Forced into a corner, Lu Li steeled his resolve and decided to fight these assassins to the death.

These people are clearly well-trained. If they keep running like this, they'll definitely be worn down and die here. They might as well take a gamble.

These assassins were deadly, each strike aimed at vital points. If Lu Li hadn't possessed profound internal strength, he would probably have been killed long ago.

Lu Li's strength gradually gave out, and he was accidentally slashed on the shoulder by the assassins' swords.

Blood gushed out immediately, staining his clothes red.

"Ah...ah..." A cry of pain came from Lu Li's mouth, but he was quickly killed by a sword.

Lu Li gritted his teeth, remaining silent. But his eyes were already bloodshot. This feeling was absolutely terrible; a burning rage was raging within him.

"Go to hell!"

Suddenly, a dark figure rushed in front of him, slashing at him with a sword. Lu Li dodged the sword with a swift movement. But the dark figure seemed to have anticipated his dodge, and as soon as he dodged, a second attack came.

He dodged again, narrowly avoiding the fatal sword strike, and simultaneously kicked the man in black. His speed was incredible; in a swift turn, his longsword pierced the man's chest.

Lu Li's movements were too fast; the man in black couldn't react in time and was defeated by Lu Li in one move.

With a soft "plop," the man in black collapsed, his eyes wide open.

Lu Li sheathed his longsword, his face cold and indifferent. A chilling light flashed in his eyes. At this moment, he seemed to transform into a god of death, instilling fear in the surrounding assassins.

"Damn it! How can his kung fu be so good?" one of the assassins cursed.

"There are more of us than you, are you afraid of this kid?"

"That's right, kill him!"

Numerous assassins pounced on him instantly. Lu Li sneered, his longsword flashing with countless sword flowers, its sword energy crisscrossing the surrounding area, causing the assassins to hesitate to approach for a moment.

"You want my life? Then come and take it!"

Lu Li roared and swung his longsword. Wherever the sword energy passed, grass and trees flew, and rocks crumbled.

The assassins dodged, but little did they know that the attack was not over. The sword tip drew a beautiful arc in the air and continued forward.

"Pfft!"

With a muffled thud, an assassin's right arm was severed by the sword energy, and a spurt of hot blood gushed out, splashing onto Lu Li's face.

At this point, Lu Li was at his limit and had no strength left.

His vision gradually blurred, and he felt even more unwilling. Since he transmigrated to the Warring States period, he had traveled for three years and suffered all kinds of hardships. Was he going to die now?

Just then, a cold glint flashed, and four or five assassins instantly collapsed to the ground, unable to get up. Even Lu Li didn't see how they died.

"Such fast swordsmanship!" Lu Li exclaimed in surprise.

All he could see was a young man of similar age, dressed in coarse linen clothes, wearing a straw hat, and holding a short sword. The short sword was sharp, its blade gleaming coldly, and drops of blood were dripping from it.

The young man saw Lu Li staring at him with a puzzled look. He grinned, revealing his white and even teeth, his smile exceptionally innocent: "Young man, judging from your extraordinary attire, who have you offended?"

Lu Li's heart tightened; this person's swordsmanship was no less fast than Jian Chen's!

"My name is Lu Li, and I reside in Yunmeng Mountain!"

The young man's eyes lit up when he heard the words "Yunmeng Mountain".

"I am Wei Zhuang, a swordsman! I happen to be on my way to Yunmeng Mountain to become an apprentice."

When Lu Li heard the name Wei Zhuang, his jaw almost dropped in shock.

Are you kidding me? Wei Zhuang? Did Wei Zhuang really exist in history?

The two of them almost completely ignored the remaining thirty-odd assassins and started chatting.

"Damn it! Brothers, kill him together!" At the leader's command, everyone rushed forward and charged towards Lu Li.

After all, he was injured and had almost lost his fighting ability. Just at the critical moment, a furious shout came from afar.

"Anyone who dares to touch Brother Lu will die!"

Lu Li turned his head and looked around. Cangwu had finally returned!
