"Very well, then we shall do as Takanao says!"
After the three discussed their plan, Gao Shun and Lü Bu returned to their respective armies to relay the orders.
"Xiaozhi, we are so grateful for your reminder this time, otherwise we would have been in real trouble!" Xu Huang said to Fazheng after Gao Shun and Lü Bu had gone far away.
Fa Zheng smiled modestly and said, "Gongming, you are too kind. How could I dare to neglect the task assigned by our lord?"
"Alright, enough with the nonsense. I'll go arrange for the soldiers to get ready now, so as not to delay things!" Fa Zheng said again.
"Yes! Go quickly!" Fa Zheng nodded.
Fa Zheng left immediately, while Xu Huang began to deploy his troops.
Wuling County is very close to Changsha, and it only took seven days for their troops to besiege the city.
Xu Huang ordered a feigned attack on Changsha, which indeed drew the attention of the Jingzhou troops.
He ordered his army to wave flags and shout, but did not attack. When Han Xuan, the governor of Changsha, learned of this, he was terrified.
Although Liu Biao had given him prior notice, he still couldn't help but feel afraid in the face of the overwhelming Yellow Turban army.
More importantly, Han Xuan had no confidence in defending Changsha!
"Report! Your Excellency, something terrible has happened! The Yellow Turban Army is attacking!"
A minor official rushed into Han Xuan's tent to report urgently.
"What! The Yellow Turban Army has arrived?" Han Xuan was shocked and almost lost his balance, falling back into his chair.
"Quickly, quickly send an order to Huang Zhong, instructing him to immediately resist the Yellow Turban Army!" Han Xuan hurriedly gave the order.
"promise!"
Just as Han Xuan finished giving the order, a series of hurried footsteps reached his ears, and Huang Zhong rushed over.
"My lord, your humble servant has arrived!" Huang Zhong greeted him respectfully with a bow.
Han Xuan sighed and said, "Hansheng, the Yellow Turban Army is attacking. What should we do?"
Upon hearing this, Huang Zhong immediately burst into laughter and said, "My lord, do not worry, watch how this humble general will repel the enemy!"
"Good, good!" Han Xuan said excitedly.
Huang Zhong wore a confident smile; he didn't take the Yellow Turban Army seriously at all.
Subsequently, Huang Zhong led his troops out of the city. Looking at the massive Yellow Turban army, he showed no fear, but rather disdain.
"Hmph, these mere Yellow Turban rebels dare to attempt to conquer Changsha? Dream on!"
Huang Zhong roared, raising his sword and shouting, "Who among you dares to fight me?"
Huang Zhong's provocation enraged the Yellow Turban army. One of the captains roared, "Huang Zhong, you scoundrel, don't be so arrogant! I'll deal with you!"
Having said that, he spurred his horse and leaped out, charging fiercely towards Huang Zhong.
"court death!"
Huang Zhong sneered and brought his broadsword down with a fierce slash, instantly killing the Yellow Turban captain!
With a single move, Huang Zhong killed a general.
"hiss……"
Upon witnessing this scene, the Yellow Turban soldiers all gasped in shock, and a sense of dread immediately filled their hearts.
"What? Are all the Yellow Turban rebels such good-for-nothings?" Huang Zhong said disdainfully.
"I've heard that the Yellow Turban Army has a fierce general named Lü Bu. Where is he? Tell him to come out and face his death at once!"
Huang Zhong looked around and asked in a loud voice, his words filled with boundless domineering power.
Xu Huang frowned deeply. As the saying goes, a true expert's skill is immediately apparent upon seeing their work.
Huang Zhong's sword strike just now was quite extraordinary, and Xu Huang knew he was no match for him.
He just didn't expect that such a powerful person would exist in a small Changsha County.
"Huang Zhong, you scoundrel, stop your arrogance! Take this!"
Suddenly, a furious shout resounded throughout the arena, and a general rode out on horseback. This man was majestic in stature, with piercing eyes.
Huang Zhong looked up and, upon seeing the newcomer, asked, "Are you Lü Bu?"
"Hmph, you old scoundrel, do you think you're worthy to fight Fengxian?"
"Take this!"
Having said that, the man brandished his long sword and slashed fiercely at Huang Zhong. The sword strike was sharp and powerful.
Huang Zhong narrowed his eyes slightly, realizing this man was truly extraordinary. He then snorted coldly and went to meet him.
"Clang! Clang! Clang!"
The two fought several rounds in an instant, their blades flashing, their cold light sharp, and the wind howling through them.
Huang Zhong fought with increasing ferocity, gradually gaining the upper hand. The Yellow Turban general, however, was struggling to cope, being suppressed by Huang Zhong and even finding himself at a disadvantage.
"This old skin guy is incredibly strong; we can't afford to drag this out any longer!" The general decided to change tactics and temporarily avoid his sharp edge.
The man lightly pushed off the ground with his left leg, using the force to leap into the air, and then slashed his long sword diagonally towards Huang Zhong's head, intending to kill him with one blow.
Huang Zhong sneered, leaned back sharply to dodge the man's fierce attack, and slashed down with his broadsword at the same time.
Lai cursed under his breath, "Cunning!" He quickly sheathed his sword to defend himself, but he was still a fraction too slow, and a deep, bone-revealing wound was left on his right shoulder.
If he hadn't stopped the large sword in time, his right arm would probably be severed by now.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Huang Zhong flipped his wrist and slashed his chest down with his broadsword.
"Clang!" The general hurriedly defended, and the two men rode their horses to create distance between them, facing each other from a distance.
"Young man, your martial arts are quite good. What's your name?" Huang Zhong asked in a deep voice.
Lai Jiang's expression was uncertain; he never expected that Huang Zhong's strength was even greater than he had imagined.
“I am Zhang Liao from Hedong, Zhang Wenyuan!” Zhang Liao said in a deep voice.
Even Xu Huang was stunned. When did he gain such a fierce general under his command?
He was completely unaware of this; it seems there are many heroes in the world. I must investigate further when I get back.
