Chapter 87 Jing Ke Visits Lu Li

When Lu Li returned to the villa, he saw that Wei Zhuang had come back.

"You're back, how are you?"

Wei Zhuang smiled and said, "Don't you trust me to handle things?"

So far, Wei Zhuang has killed three people named Liu Ji.

Whether Liu Bang, the founder of the Han Dynasty, was among them is unknown to Lu Li, but he had to nip Liu Bang in the bud.

"A few days later, Jing Ke will come to Qin to assassinate the King of Qin."

Upon hearing this, Wei Zhuang's eyes lit up.

"Jing Ke!"

Judging from Wei Zhuang's appearance, he should know Jing Ke. Wei Zhuang used to roam the martial arts world before becoming a disciple of Guigu to learn internal energy cultivation techniques.

Wei Zhuang knows more about the affairs of the martial arts world than Gai Nie does.

"This man has mastered the art of swordsmanship; I never expected him to come and assassinate the King of Qin. What a pity," Wei Zhuang sighed.

"What level of cultivation is Jing Ke at now?" Lu Li asked.

Without the slightest hesitation, Wei Zhuang said directly, "Of course he is a junior grandmaster. His martial arts talent is even above mine. Now that I am a junior grandmaster, how could he not be?"

It's clear that Wei Zhuang has a high opinion of Jing Ke, as does Gai Nie.

This made Lu Li feel uncertain. What if things went wrong? Wouldn't he be doomed?

He cannot allow Ying Zheng to be in a dangerous position; this matter requires careful consideration!

Prince Dan was unaware that his every move was under the control of the Black Ice Platform.

After receiving a personal letter from Prince Dan, Jing Ke finally made up his mind. After making arrangements for his family, he carried the map of Dukang in Yan and went to the State of Qin.

After arriving in Qin, Jing Ke did not go to meet the King of Qin first, but instead went to Lu Li's villa in secret.

Because his two close friends were here, namely Wei Zhuang and Gai Nie.

"My name is Jing Ke, and I have come to pay my respects to Mr. Lu."

The servants led Jing Ke into the villa. Looking up, he saw Lu Li standing in the courtyard, with Wei Zhuang and Gai Nie standing behind him.

"Brother Jian Chen, your hair..."

Jing Ke was astonished when he saw Gai Nie's white hair.

Gai Nie stepped forward and said, "I am deeply saddened by my master's passing, and my hair turned white overnight."

"By the way, I am no longer called Jian Chen. My master told me my name before he passed away. My name is now Gai Nie!"

Jing Ke was somewhat surprised. Although he and Gai Nie had only met once, they had a friendship like that of gentlemen.

“Mr. Jing Ke, I already know your intentions in coming to Qin this time. Give up.”

Lu Li cut to the chase, directly revealing Jing Ke's purpose in coming to Qin, which caught Jing Ke somewhat off guard.

"What makes you say that, Mr. Lu?"

Gai Nie said helplessly, "Prince Dan of Yan ordered you to bring the map of Dukang in Yan to the King of Qin, and then seize the opportunity to assassinate him. Is that right or wrong?"

Jing Ke's expression changed, and he looked at Gai Nie and Lu Li with disbelief.

"The letter from Prince Dan of Yan to you was sent from my residence," Lu Li explained.

Jing Ke suddenly realized that the Qin state had known all along.

"Then why not expose Prince Dan and let him send the letter out instead?" Jing Ke asked, puzzled.

He was just a swordsman; he didn't understand politics.

"Naturally, it's so that you can assassinate the King of Qin, thus giving Qin a reason to destroy Yan."

A reason? Just one reason?

"Ha, there was no reason for Qin to destroy Han."

Clearly, Jing Ke did not believe it. Qin was now so powerful that it didn't need a reason to destroy another country.

“A just cause will save a lot of trouble. Otherwise, even if Qin is not afraid of a four-nation alliance, it will still delay the process of unifying the world.”

Upon hearing Lu Li's explanation, Jing Ke nodded in agreement; what Lu Li said did make some sense.

"Brother Jing, give up. I am now the bodyguard of the King of Qin. I will never let you kill the King of Qin!"

Gai Nie couldn't bear to see Jing Ke go to his death and wanted to dissuade him.

“Brother Jian... a promise is a promise. I have already promised Prince Dan, so I must do it.”

"But have you thought about it? The unification of Qin is inevitable. The seven states have been fighting for hundreds of years, and the people are starving. Don't you want to see a peaceful and prosperous world?"

Gai Nie knew what kind of person Jing Ke was and wanted to use that to move him.

Jing Ke gave a bitter smile and said, "From a moral standpoint, unifying the world is the best course of action, but Prince Dan has shown me great kindness, and I cannot fail to repay that kindness!"

On one hand, there is the greater good of the nation; on the other hand, there is the gratitude for being recognized and appreciated.

Jing Ke understood better than anyone else that he didn't want to see such chaos continue.

However, he was loyal to Prince Dan and had to keep his promise.

Upon hearing this, Gai Nie knew that Jing Ke had come with the intention of dying.

Lu Li sighed and said, "Mr. Jing Ke, how about we make a bet? If you can defeat my brother, I will let you into Xianyang Palace. If you lose, please go back."

After saying that, Cangwu jumped down from the roof.

Who was Jing Ke? He immediately recognized the difference in Cangwu.

"A person whom even the heavens are jealous of!!!"

Those who are envied by the heavens may never reach the level of a minor grandmaster in their lifetime, but they possess the strength to fight against a minor grandmaster.

"It is my honor to fight against someone who is envied by the heavens!"

Many martial artists have heard of people who are envied by the heavens, but have never actually seen one.

Jing Ke felt the same way; he was eager to fight someone whom the heavens envied.

Jing Ke placed the map of Yan Dukang on the ground, then drew a sharp sword from his waist and said, "Come on!"

Cangwu stomped his feet on the ground, drew his broadsword from behind, and with a roar, charged toward Jing Ke in an instant.
