Instant noodles taste best when cooked with the hottest water.
Because the water in the thermos was still hot, it boiled over in about a minute. At that moment, Zhao Minmin was applying face wash to her face.
Naturally, I applied face wash while simultaneously using the electric kettle.
"Tsk—" Because of a slip of the hand, the electric kettle that I had already picked up slipped out of my hand uncontrollably.
"Uh—" The electric kettle slid to the ground without making a sound, but it landed right on Zhao Minmin's instep.
She got up around noon wearing flip-flops, and in an instant, the instep of her foot was so hot it almost burned a large red patch.
The excruciating pain was instantaneous; Zhao Minmin quickly realized she had been scalded and turned to run to the bathroom. She immediately turned on the shower, switched to cold water, and poured it over the back of her foot.
Once the burning sensation subsided a bit, I casually picked up the "soap" from the soap dish and started applying it to the back of my feet.
I don't expect to avoid any damage, I just hope that this textbook-style procedure will prevent my instep from getting blisters from the burn.
However, the lather from this "soap" was incredibly rich and creamy, even smoother than my own facial cleanser. After a few rubs, the pain on the instep was completely gone. Not only was it pain-free, but it also felt wonderfully comfortable. So, without further ado, I applied it to my other foot as well.
After rinsing it off, I took another look. Although the instep that had been almost hit by the heat was still a little red, it was just a small mark. I was sure it wouldn't blister, and I even felt that it would fade away after a while.
