Chapter 75 Addicted to Hugging?

Judging from his back, it was the Emperor, whom I hadn't seen for quite some time.

Inside the room, the Second Young Master Gu was holding Su Wanwan, tears streaming down his face, overcome with emotion.

Crane Shadow was terrified.

The teacup in my hand almost fell to the ground.

Last time at the manor, outdoors, Young Master Gu only hugged the girl once, and the atmosphere was terribly cold.

Now, a man and a woman alone in the bedroom...

She wanted to speak up to remind them, but she didn't dare. After thinking it over, she coughed desperately to remind the two people in the room.

Su Wanwan was facing the door, her body stiff, and she didn't see the person at the door.

She tried to push Gu Ziyu away, but she was too weak and couldn't move for a moment under his sudden restraint.

Gu Ziyu turned around when she heard the cough, and froze when she saw the man with cold eyes and brows.

"Are you addicted to hugging her?"

Lu Xingjian, standing at the door, said coldly.

Su Wanwan froze.

Gu Ziyu naturally let go of her hand, creating some distance between them, and said frankly:

"Wanwan is sick and in a bad mood."

Lu Xingjian's voice was icy cold: "Are you a doctor?"

"Some illnesses are beyond the cure of doctors."

Gu Ziyu was not intimidated; instead, she met his gaze directly.

Lu Xingjian walked in slowly and said leisurely:

"I've heard that the fourth young lady of the Zhenyuan Marquis's mansion is deeply in love with Gu Er. Shall I grant you a marriage?"

Gu Ziyu's expression immediately changed, then he suddenly smiled:

"Your Majesty's kindness is too much for this humble servant to accept. If you are going to bestow a marriage upon me, please grant me and Sister Wanwan a marriage."

Lu Xingjian's brow twitched, his eyes flashing coldly, and he simply said:

"The fourth young lady of the Zhenyuan Marquis's mansion is waiting outside. Are you sure you don't want to go and see her?"

Gu Ziyu couldn't help but look at Su Wanwan, feeling utterly overwhelmed.

Su Wanwan sat there quietly until she finally spoke, "You can go ahead and get busy."

Gu Ziyu will get married sooner or later.

Rather than being dragged down by her, it's better to find a better match sooner rather than later.

Otherwise, similar lapses in composure might happen again.

Gu Ziyu knew that these words were meant for her, "Then I'll come see you again next time."

He Ying brought the teacup into the room and then saw Gu Ziyu off.

Only Lu Xingjian and Su Wanwan remained in the room.

Lu Xingjian walked to the bedside and sat down, staring at her for a long time, suppressing his anger:

"Wanwan, you're being so naughty."

Su Wanwan looked up in his direction, trying to open her eyes wide to see him, but she couldn't see anything.

The last time he was this angry, he used cannons to bombard her newly bought inn.

She asked, "So?"

Lu Xingjian's forehead veins throbbed as he reached out and pinched her chin, bringing his face close to hers.

When their eyes met, he instinctively sensed something was wrong, and his pupils contracted slightly.

What happened to your eyes?

Those once bright, watery eyes are now lifeless, their pupils unfocused.

When I brought my finger close to her eyes, she didn't flinch or close her eyes.

She's blind?

Lu Xingjian immediately summoned the imperial physician.

He Ying was also summoned by him and coldly questioned, "When did her eyes get damaged?"

"It's been like this lately."

Crane Shadow was terrified and somewhat bewildered. After carefully examining Su Wanwan's eyes, he finally realized that something was amiss.

“Since you came back, you have been sleeping in bed all day long, and I haven’t noticed anything wrong with you.”

Lu Xingjian's jawline was taut.

The servants around her were utterly useless!

Su Wanwan sat there quietly, letting him do as he pleased.

Gu Ziyu brought her back, and after talking for so long, he didn't even notice that there was something wrong with her eyes.

He Ying had been taking care of her closely these past few days, but hadn't noticed anything unusual about her eyes.

But it was him.

I had barely spoken a word to her when I sensed something was wrong.

Are they too slow to react, or is he overly sensitive?

The imperial physician arrived very quickly.

After the examination, he said, "It's an illness caused by accumulated emotional distress. I will prescribe a few doses of herbal medicine to help you recover completely."

Lu Xingjian relaxed slightly. "Are you sure there's nothing seriously wrong?"

The doctor confidently stated, "Some patients may go blind after experiencing sudden extreme joy or sorrow."

"In addition to medication, we also need to comfort and guide the patient's emotions."

He Ying was so anxious that she was almost in tears.

"The young lady has been crying ever since she came back, and her pillow is wet every day. I really don't know what to do."

Lu Xingjian was stunned.

The image of me vomiting blood in front of her flashed through my mind, and her face turned pale and she was unable to move.

My heart felt heavy and swollen, as if something was about to burst forth from the ground.

I can hardly believe it.

An overwhelming sense of joy suddenly washed over me.

It was also mixed with a strange bitterness and an indescribable heartache.

The imperial physician went out to prescribe medicine.

Lu Xingjian reached out and gently stroked her pale, thin face with his fingertips, whispering:

"It's my fault. I should have told you I'm fine."

Su Wanwan pushed his hand away.

He had no strength in his body, but his voice was unusually calm.

"You're joking."

"Whether you live or die is none of my business."

He Ying stood at the door with the prescription in her hand, and was immediately terrified, breaking out in a cold sweat.

It's rare for a girl to be so angry; she actually said things like "it's life or death," which was really hurtful.

Lu Xingjian looked at her quietly, his face devoid of any emotion.

Su Wanwan ignored him and turned to lie down on the bed.

Lu Xingjian grabbed her and pulled her tightly into his arms.

"I'm sorry, I neglected your feelings."
