Chapter 117 Why didn’t you cry out in pain just now?
Yan Ruo just pretended to be stupid and pretended not to hear what Zhang Xi said. After getting out of the car carefully, he took two steps back and bent down to look into the car.
"Ms. Zhang, Mr. Zhang, thank you for today. Please drive safely."
After saying that, he stood up and stood there, waiting for them to leave.
Unexpectedly, after a long while, the car still didn't start, Yan Ruo was a little puzzled. Could it be that their car also broke down? Fortunately, she had already arrived home.
Forget it, my ankles hurt after standing for so long, so I’d better go back first.
After turning around and taking only two steps, she heard the sound of a car door opening behind her. Before she could react, her arm felt tight and was held firmly by a big hand.
Yan Ruo tilted her head in confusion, "Master Zhang, what are you doing?"
Zhang Xi looked lazy and nonchalant, saying, "Seeing you limping around like that makes me feel sorry for you, I'll be a good person and take you home."
He glanced at her with a half-smile and said, "Can you walk? Do you want me to carry you?"
Yan Ruo looked at him as if she had seen a ghost. She knew that this young master could not stand being rejected when making a decision, so she simply accepted it.
"Then please help me, Master Zhang."
Now that I can use my arms as leverage, walking is indeed much easier.
While waiting for the elevator, Yan Ruo took out her phone to reply to Chi Yu's message. Just then, Xu Shaoyu sent a message asking her if she had returned home.
After being aloof all day, he came to ask again. Yan Ruo would give him four words, "Downstairs."
Zhang Xi stood aside with his arms folded, glanced at her feet inconspicuously, and said lightly.
"Should we take you to the hospital?"
"Ah?" Yan Ruo looked up, and after two seconds she realized what he was saying, and shook her head.
"It's not that serious, just go back and apply some ice."
Zhang Yu raised an eyebrow at the words, but said nothing more. There was silence in the elevator afterwards. Yan Ruo held his hand as they walked to the apartment door, pursing her lips.
"Miss Zhang is still waiting for you downstairs, so I won't invite you in to sit down."
"Thank you for today."
Zhang Yu's lips curled slightly, "Miss Yan thinks that saying thank you doesn't cost money, so she threw it at us."
"Don't mind me, Mr. Zhang. I don't have any other advantages except that I'm very polite." Yan Ruo gave a fake smile. This guy always spoke in a sarcastic tone, thinking that everyone couldn't do it.
Zhang Xi spread his hands and said, "Miss Yan, you are so polite and thank you so much, but don't make excuses when you really want me to help you with something."
Yan Ruo frowned, "I said, as long as it is within my ability, I will definitely help if I can."
Zhang Xu, "As expected of someone who helped Xu Shaoyu trick me, he's still so precise in his words."
He actually started to bring up the past, it had been several years, this man was really petty. Yan Ruo didn't know what to say for a moment.
Zhang Yu chuckled twice and waved his hand, "Let's go. Miss Yan owes me a favor, don't forget it."
In response to his attempt to change the subject and transfer the favor to himself, Yan Ruo Silently rolled his eyes.
"What a black-hearted businessman, he wants to take advantage of everything." He complained softly, stretched out his finger and punched the password to open the door.
Xiao Tao returned to Southern Province. She thought she would be greeted by a dark room, but unexpectedly she found the room brightly lit.
Forgot to turn off the lights when you went out?
He slowly changed his shoes while holding the shoe cabinet. When he stood up again, Xu Shaoyu suddenly appeared and stood quietly not far away, watching him.
Yan Ruo was so frightened that she took a step back. If it weren't for the shoe cabinet, she would have been injured even more. She patted her chest with a complaining tone.
"Why didn't you make a sound? You were like a ghost. You scared me to death."
Xu Shaoyu looked at her with a cold expression. She was alone at the entrance, changing her shoes, putting down her bag, and looking for a hairband to tie her hair. She didn't even look at him.
His eyes darkened and his voice became hoarse. "You said you had something to do tonight. Did you have an appointment with Zhang Xi?"
Yan Ruo looked surprised, "How is that possible? I don't know him well."
Yan Ruo said as she limped slowly inside. "I just met him and Zhang Ya halfway. They were so kind that they gave me a ride."
Xu Shaoyu frowned and quickly took two steps forward to support her. "What's wrong with your foot?"
Yan Ruo frowned and nodded, "I sprained it a bit."
Although it didn't look like a serious problem, it hurt when she walked. She didn't dare to exert any force, which was really inconvenient.
Yan Ruo was feeling worried when she suddenly fell into the arms of a man with a faint smell of alcohol, and her whole body was suspended in the air.
Xu Shaoyu carried her a few steps into the living room and gently placed her on the sofa.
Then he squatted down in front of her, placed her injured foot on his knees, and examined it carefully with a frown.
"It's a little red and a little swollen." He used his fingers to pinch it twice tentatively.
"Hiss~" Yan Ruo didn't know where Xu Shaoyu pinched, but felt a burst of pain.
Xu Shaoyu looked up at her and asked, "Apart from this place, are there any other discomforts?"
Yan Ruo shook her head, "No."
Xu Shaoyu took out his cell phone, stood up and made a call. He told the person on the other end about Yan Ruo's situation. He didn't know what they said. After hanging up, he walked straight to the door.
Yan Ruo stretched her neck to look, and saw that he was coming back.
Xu Shaoyu looked at her, his dark eyes filled with complex emotions that Yan Ruo could not understand.
He pursed his lips tightly and said calmly, "I'm going downstairs to buy some ice packs." Then he turned and walked out.
Several question marks popped up above Yan Ruo's head.
What's wrong with Xu Shaoyu these past two days? He's acting weird. And the way he looked at her just now, it was as if she'd done something that would be envied by heaven and earth.
Before she could think about it, her phone vibrated. Chi Yu sent her a message asking when she would be back. She said that she had recently found a delicious restaurant and wanted to have dinner with her then.
Yan Ruo immediately replied with an OK expression, and the two of them chatted back and forth, happily chatting about the latest gossip.
After a while, the door opened and Xu Shaoyu sat next to Yan Ruo with something in his hand.
His dark eyes swept across her face lightly, and without a word he put her foot on his leg and took out an ice pack to apply to her red ankle.
"Hiss, it's so cold." Yan Ruo wanted to retract her foot, but was immediately held down by Xu Shaoyu.
"The doctor said that if I don't apply ice, it will be more swollen when I wake up tomorrow." Xu Shaoyu frowned, his voice filled with displeasure.
"I was just standing downstairs for a long time, chatting and laughing with Zhang Xi. Why didn't you cry out in pain?"
After hearing this, Yan Ruo felt that she was even more wronged than Dou E. "How could I have been talking and laughing with Zhang Xi? I was just thanking him."
Do I have to keep a straight face when I say thank you? That's too awkward.
But Xu Shaoyu was just fiddling with the ice pack in his hand, looking like he didn't want to pay any attention to her.
Yan Ruo reached out and pushed his arm. "It's too cold. Don't put the ice pack on it all at once. Do it little by little. Give my feet some time to adjust."
Xu Shaoyu glanced at her without saying anything, but moved the ice pack in his hand a little further.
Seeing that he didn't want to talk, Yan Ruo raised her eyebrows, took out her phone and continued chatting with Chi Yu.
Seeing this, Xu Shaoyu's face instantly became even uglier, and even the air pressure around him dropped a lot.
The living room fell into silence.
The stagnant silence was broken only by a knock on the door.
