"Buzz..."
A deep, rumbling sound of a car engine came from afar, growing louder as it approached.
In the blink of an eye, a military off-road vehicle sped over and came to a steady stop in front of Li Yu's group, blocking their way.
Li Yu looked at the SUV in front of him, which had the same green flag as Qingcheng, indicating that the SUV also belonged to Zhongzhou.
Just then, someone in the car quickly opened the door and jumped out, ran to the other side of the car, and deftly opened the back door.
A tall and upright officer slowly stepped out of the car.
The officer was dressed in a neat and crisp green military uniform with green epaulettes on his shoulders, and a green Central Plains flag pinned to his chest, constantly reminding others of his identity.
"It's a car from Zhongzhou!"
"How did they get here?"
The awakened ones around them saw that it was a car from Zhongzhou and began to whisper among themselves.
Li Yu was puzzled by the sudden appearance of the Zhongzhou vehicle.
Seeing this, Ma Yuanbai quickly stepped forward with a smile and greeted the officer with a cheerful greeting:
"Good day, sir. We're on the same side." Ma Yuanbai said, showing him the green Central Plains flag on his camouflage uniform.
The officer, however, gave a cold snort without expression and responded without any mercy:
"Who says you're one of our own?"
Having said that, he coldly swept his gaze across Li Yu's group, then said in an icy tone:
"Do you think wearing camouflage makes you any less of a homeless person?!"
The serious-looking officer took out a booklet and continued speaking to Ma Yuanbai:
"According to relevant regulations, it is now necessary to register large groups of people in advance."
Then, he glanced at the crowd behind Ma Yuanbai and asked:
"What team are you?"
Upon hearing the officer's question, Ma Yuanbai, who was standing in front, quickly replied:
"We are the Wanderers' League."
"What are you talking about? Alliance, my foot! Just answer whatever you're asked."
The officer seemed dissatisfied with his answer, frowning as he glared at Ma Yuanbai and reprimanded him sternly:
"Speak only when I tell you to, and don't interrupt!"
The officer silently flipped through the booklet in his hand and wrote down the number 32 in the blank space where it had been registered.
Without even consulting Ma Yuanbai, he announced on his own:
"From this moment on, you are the Refugee Team 32."
"yes."
Faced with the officer's assertive attitude, Ma Yuanbai merely suppressed his smile slightly and responded in a low voice.
As an officer from Zhongzhou, even with limited power, Ma Yuanbai didn't want to cause any unnecessary trouble before even passing through the defense line.
Immediately following the instructions in the booklet, the officer asked again:
"Name."
"Ma Yuanbai".
"Did I ask you? You think you're worthy to leave your name?" The officer interrupted Ma Yuanbai without hesitation.
He immediately recognized that Li Yu, riding the big black horse, was the leader of this group of refugees.
The officer reprimanded Ma Yuanbai, then raised his chin and pointed at Li Yu, who was riding a horse:
"I asked him what his name was."
“His name is Li Yu,” Ma Yuanbai quickly answered for Li Yu.
He was afraid that Li Yu would have a direct confrontation with this officer.
If Li Yu kills this Zhongzhou officer with an arrow, then everything is over.
After listening, the officer wore an indifferent expression, casually picked up a pen, and scribbled Li Yu's name in the booklet with a flourish, muttering:
"Li Yu, Team 32, the refugee group." The officer snapped the booklet shut, looked up at Ma Yuanbai, and said coldly:
"Remember your numbers. Don't let them get out of your way once you reach the front line. If you don't, you'll be responsible for the consequences. Don't blame me for not warning you!"
Ma Yuanbai quickly replied, "Yes, I've got it."
At this moment, the onlookers around fell silent, as if they had encountered their natural enemy.
They all stood timidly in the distance, not daring to speak aloud.
After registering, the officer leisurely sat back down in the SUV.
Immediately afterwards, the driver slammed on the gas pedal, and the SUV sped away, splashing up a spray of water.
Watching the car gradually disappear into the distance, Li Yu felt completely bewildered and confused.
He thought they were sent by Zhongzhou to help the refugees, but they just came to take a look and did nothing to register.
"Is this really someone from Zhongzhou?" Li Yu couldn't help but turn to Ma Yuanbai and ask.
At this moment, he was skeptical of the so-called security of Central State.
Ma Yuanbai nodded: "He is indeed an officer from Zhongzhou. The Zhongzhou epaulets on that man cannot be faked."
Although the officer was arrogant, Ma Yuanbai thought it was probably just human nature.
If he were in that position, he would inevitably do the same.
But he believed that once he successfully entered Zhongzhou, everything would gradually get better.
......
A figure quickly ran into Yan City; it was the team member who had discovered Li Yu earlier.
Then several more rain crows flew into Flame City.
Before long, Li Yu's information was verified, and even the locations of Li Yu mentioned by different informants were almost identical.
"Lord Shadow, the murderer who used the crossbow has been found." A subordinate rushed over to report the situation after confirming that the information was correct.
Upon hearing this news, the shadow master simply nodded slightly to indicate that he was aware of it, but his gaze never left the map in his hand.
