The Soul Master's spirit was torn to pieces by the power of the curse, emitting intermittent, desperate cries. In the face of annihilation, rule and power were reduced to nothing more than the most primal instinct for survival.

The Soul Master's spiritual body struggled amidst pain and a sense of emptiness, its golden eyes flashing wildly.

Golden light swirled in his golden eyes. Through his golden pupils, the Soul Master could see more clearly the strange yet stable symbiotic link between Li Yu's spiritual body and the Nightmare Beast, as well as the vast and boundless spiritual sea of Li Yu, which far exceeded his imagination.
The more he felt the unfathomable depth of this power, the stronger his resentment became.
As the "Eternal Night's Decline" curse continued to erode, the Soul Master's control over the golden energy surging into Li Yu's spiritual sea rapidly diminished.
Countless out-of-control golden specks of light were swallowed up by the surging waves of spiritual energy, gradually assimilated, and merged into Li Yu's spiritual sea, becoming part of Li Yu's spiritual power.

Enveloped in golden light, the Soul Master instantly transformed into a fierce and resolute golden meteor, rushing headlong towards the deepest part of Li Yu's spiritual sea, towards the location of the core of consciousness!

The Soul Master knew he still had a glimmer of hope. As long as he could successfully occupy Li Yu's mental sea, he could replace Li Yu's consciousness!
Thus, by using golden energy to mobilize Li Yu's vast spiritual sea, he turned defeat into victory in one fell swoop!
Strangely, Li Yu and the Nightmare Beast remained motionless in the face of his final charge, as if watching coldly as the golden light rushed into their mental sea.

"Ugh—!" The Soul Master's spirit was once again being eroded by the power of the dark curse. His spirit trembled slightly and let out another painful scream.
His body was torn even more shattered by the curse, and his consciousness began to blur.
"In all my years, I've never seen anyone as stupid as you."
The Nightmare Beast's voice was like a demonic chant, constantly assaulting his mind:
"The human body is itself the most powerful natural barrier against mental invasion."

He turned towards the direction where Li Yu's spiritual body was located and shouted urgently:
"Li Yu, I...I lost!"
"From this moment on, you are the new Soul Master! Everything in this entire underworld is yours! I only ask that you..."
Before the Soul Master could finish speaking, his voice abruptly stopped.
In that fading trance, his golden eyes seemed to pierce through time, glimpsing a fragment of the future.
He has already foreseen a more terrifying possibility in the future...

A fate a thousand times more terrifying than utter annihilation!

Li Yu's spiritual body quietly watched the Soul Master, feeling the Soul Master's deep-seated pain.
Looking at the former underground rulers, now humbly begging for their complete demise.

Li Yu was just a simple idea.
The vast and boundless power within the entire spiritual sea responded gently, no longer the malevolent black controlled by the Nightmare Beast, but a purer and more expansive silver-white spiritual energy.
Like a purifying holy flame, the waves instantly enveloped the Soul Master's remaining dim golden light.
There was no resistance, no struggle.
The Soul Master simply looked at Li Yu with his golden eyes, allowing himself to be submerged and purified.
The last glimmer of golden light flickered violently amidst the massive amount of silvery-white energy, like a candle flickering in the wind, yet bursting forth with its final, scorching heat.
Even this last point of light seemed to contain a power sufficient to cause mutual destruction.
In the moment before his consciousness faded, the Soul Master's golden eyes gave Li Yu a deep look.
Madness, greed, and pain all faded away, and a strange clarity flashed in the Soul Master's eyes:
"To become the ruler of humanity, perhaps you truly can..."
The Soul Master suddenly burst into laughter at Li Yu:
"Hahaha, Li Yu! From this moment on, you are the Soul Master!"
As the Soul Master felt relieved, the scorching temperature within the golden light quickly dimmed.
The golden light, representing the Soul Master's ambition to break free from the earth over countless years, extinguished silently, like a spark thrown into the sea.
The thought abruptly ended there.
Everything returned to calm.
