Chapter 13 The Mantis Stalks the Cicada, Unaware of the Oriole Behind

The snake, in pain, writhed violently by the water's edge, splashing up large sprays of water, but soon fell silent.

Fu Xiyao suppressed her extreme fear and wanted to go forward to help, but Li Yu stopped her.

"Don't move."

Li Yu took out another arrow and slowly narrowed the aiming circle.

Then another arrow was fired, aimed straight at the snake's vital spot, accurately hitting its heart.

The snake, which should have been dead, began to writhe violently again, creating ripples, before quickly becoming still once more.

However, Li Yu remained vigilant. He first selected a machete from Fu Xiyao's package, then fully activated the internal energy vortex to temporarily improve his reaction speed. Only after making thorough preparations did he dare to slowly approach the giant snake.

Approaching a short distance away, Li Yu suddenly leaped up from behind the giant snake, swiftly slashing off its head with a single stroke, before quickly retreating several meters away.

Seeing that the snake's body had stopped struggling, Li Yu kept his eyes fixed on the snake's head, not daring to relax for a moment.

Seeing the snake blood flow into the water, Li Yu forcefully pulled the massive snake body out of the water.

Li Yu then kept his eyes fixed on the snake's head, picked up the snake's body, and cautiously retreated step by step, his gaze never leaving the snake's head, which already had an arrow stuck in it.

He only breathed a slight sigh of relief after Li Yu pulled the snake back more than ten meters.

Fu Xiyao came up to help remove the arrow from the snake's seven-inch mark, then looked at the snake's head in the distance:

That arrow...

"No, thank you," Li Yu said decisively.

He knew that the arrow would not return when he aimed it at the snake's head, which is why he chose the damaged arrow.

Seeing Li Yu's cautious demeanor, Fu Xiyao looked at the snake in Li Yu's hand and asked with some confusion:

"Is the snake still alive?"

"Dead, but not completely dead. Whatever you do, don't go near there," Li Yu said to Xi Yao with a very serious expression.

Fu Xiyao nodded repeatedly. Li Yu didn't even need to say it; even if she had a thousand lives, she wouldn't dare to get close.

If Li Yu hadn't been there, she would have run away in fear long ago. She was already terrified just from seeing this terrifying animal from afar, so how could she dare to approach it alone?

Li Yu felt the heavy weight of the snake in his hand, estimating it to be about ninety pounds.

After the two returned to the waterproof tarpaulin, Li Yu couldn't wait to cut off a piece of snake meat and eat it in big mouthfuls.

I just used all my energy to activate the cyclone, which depleted a lot of my energy.

Driven by intense hunger, he couldn't wait any longer.

After taking a big bite, Li Yu's eyes lit up.

He never expected that the snake meat would be so firm and elastic after entering his mouth. Although it had an unavoidable fishy smell, it tasted alright.

"You eat too." Li Yu cut off another piece and handed it to Fu Xiyao.

Fu Xiyao suppressed her fear and carefully took a bite. Her expression immediately changed; the taste was indeed quite good.

This was her first time eating snake meat, and she was instantly captivated by its unique texture.
