As soon as the order was given, Zhou Zhenbei immediately added:
"Remember, this operation must be secretive and swift!"
"Try not to let unrelated people know the final destination of the shipment."
"Yes, sir!" The adjutant saluted and quickly turned to leave.
Zhou Zhenbei's gaze fell on the secret report again, his expression cold, his thoughts already recalling the death of his son, Zhou Xiaopeng.
In order to promote his son to the rank of brigadier general, he first gave Zhou Xiaopeng an officer's position and then sent him to the Zhongzhou defense line.
As far as he knew, the Central Plains Defense Line had only assigned Zhou Xiaopeng the simple task of counting the population.
Normally, it would just be a simple procedure, and once the mission is successfully completed, the son would be able to return safely to take up his post.
But who could have predicted that such a simple task would result in his son being murdered?
There's definitely something wrong here!
Perhaps someone is retaliating against Zhou Zhenbei, and is doing this on purpose.
His son's death became a permanent pain in his heart.
Since their son was murdered, his wife has been crying every day, begging him to use his position as the General of Zhongzhou to thoroughly investigate the matter and kill the murderer to avenge their son.
However, in the last few days, an unexpected turn of events has occurred.
White Raven, the twelfth seat of the "Deep Sea Watchers," somehow found him and claimed that he could resurrect his son.
According to Bai Ya, as long as he can use the organs of a successfully matched baby, he can perform a resurrection ritual to bring his son Zhou Xiaopeng back to life.
Upon hearing this, Zhou Zhenbei's heart skipped a beat.
As one of the generals of the Central Plains, he had naturally heard of the name "Deepsea Watcher".
It is understood that the 'Deepsea Watchers' is a secret society dedicated to researching climate weapons, and White Raven is one of the organization's twelve core members.
Although Zhou Zhenbei understands deep down that the dead cannot be brought back to life, this is an eternal truth.
However, nowadays, there are more and more types of superpowers among awakened individuals, and there is no doubt that some extremely special superpowers may appear.
So when he heard what Bai Ya said, a strong hope arose within him, driving him to try this seemingly fantastical possibility.
Zhou Zhenbei slowly stood up and walked to the window.
“Deepsea Watcher… White Raven…” he murmured softly, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes.
Zhou Zhenbei knew very well that a secretive organization like the Deep Sea Watchers would never resurrect his son for nothing.
Bai Ya's resurrection plan, ostensibly aimed at bringing his son Zhou Xiaopeng back to life, must be hiding some conspiracy against Zhongzhou.
Zhou Zhenbei could imagine that the price to pay for achieving such an incredible goal would be extremely high.
"But...so what?"
Zhou Zhenbei's lips curled up slightly, revealing a cold smile.
For him, even a conspiracy targeting Zhongzhou was nothing.
He was willing to try anything, no matter how small the chance, that could bring his son back to life.
"Hmph! If I fail in the end, I will make those Deepsea Watchers pay for it."
Zhou Zhenbei muttered to himself, a ruthless glint in his eyes.
He hates being deceived more than anything, and he must keep the promises made to him by the Deepsea Watcher!
In this dog-eat-dog world, strength determines everything.
Zhou Zhenbei happens to have some talent.
He didn't care about the baby's fate at all.
In his heart, nothing was more important than saving his son.
Zhou Zhenbei turned back to the table, picked up the communicator, dialed a number, and the call connected almost instantly.
"Hello?" came a young man's voice from the other end.
Zhou Zhenbei sat in the command room, expressionless, and spoke into the communicator:
"The human organs are in place."
"White Crow, how are your resurrection ritual preparations going?"
Zhou Zhenbei's voice was cold and deep, as if he had no emotion at all.
Bai Ya's cheerful voice immediately came from the other end of the communicator:
"General Zhou Zhenbei, please rest assured, everything is ready and proceeding according to plan."
Bai Ya spoke with ease and confidence, seemingly taking the mission very seriously:
“I have arrived in Wucheng, and the ceremony is ready. As soon as Zhou Xiaopeng’s body is brought to the ceremony site, your son will be reborn!”
“Very good.” Zhou Zhenbei nodded in approval.
"Remember what you said: no matter the reason, if the operation fails, you Deepsea Watchers will bear all the serious consequences."
Bai Ya laughed dismissively at Zhou Zhenbei's warning:
"Haha, General Zhou, you can rest assured. We Deepsea Watchers never do anything we are not sure of."
The white crow's voice carried a hint of amusement:
"But you did agree to our conditions before... We hope you can do the same,"
"Of course." With that, Zhou Zhenbei hung up the call.
After ending the call, Zhou Zhenbei leaned back in his chair, gently closed his eyes, and rubbed his temples.
For some reason, although everything seemed to be going smoothly, he always felt a vague and inexplicable unease deep in his heart.
This feeling was ever-present, constantly lingering in my mind.
But the thought of seeing her beloved son again soon overcame her unease.
"Xiaopeng, wait a little longer... Dad will bring you back to this world soon," Zhou Zhenbei murmured to himself.
