Xiao Hei maintained its speed and continued southward. Before it knew it, its body was covered in sweat.
You know, Little Black is usually incredibly lazy. Although it runs extremely fast, it has never used its full strength. Yet, it is sweating now.
Li Yu touched the sweat on Xiao Hei's body and was secretly amazed. It must have been quite an achievement for Xiao Hei to be so tired.
He was about to praise Xiao Hei when he suddenly realized that he was also covered in sweat.
Sweat dripped from his forehead like beads from a broken string, streaming into his eyes.
Li Yu reached up and wiped her forehead, confirming that it wasn't rainwater, but real sweat.
"It's temperature."
Li Yu instantly realized that the surrounding temperature had quietly risen at some point, and the rise was quite astonishing.
He immediately raised his hand and felt the rain falling, discovering that even the raindrops landing on his hand were warm.
"How is this possible?" Li Yu exclaimed in amazement.
This strange temperature change, which completely defies the laws of nature, is clearly not a good omen.
Originally, Li Yu was full of curiosity and wanted to see what that fire in the distance was.
Faced with such a sudden change in the environment and unknown risks, his vigilance was instantly heightened, and his determination to continue south wavered.
Li Yu decided not to go any further.
"Stop!" He immediately told Xiao Hei to change direction.
However, after Li Yu drove Xiao Hei a few hundred meters in the opposite direction, the spark in its abdomen seemed to be ignited and became extremely hot.
The intense heat caused Li Yu's abdominal temperature to rise sharply, making her feel as if her stomach was on fire, unbearably hot and dry.
Li Yu was burning unbearably, pressing hard on her abdomen, her face contorted in agony:
"Whoa—"
Xiao Hei stopped immediately upon hearing Li Yu's call.
Even so, the temperature in Li Yu's abdomen remained high, showing no signs of abating.
Li Yu looked towards the firelight in the south and seemed to realize that the sparks in her abdomen seemed to be connected to those firelights.
When he tried to get Xiao Hei to head south again, something amazing happened: the spark in its abdomen quickly cooled down and returned to normal.
"really!"
After all this trouble, Li Yu finally discovered that it seemed that as long as she walked in other directions, the sparks in her abdomen would burn fiercely, releasing unbearable high temperatures.
Moreover, Spark can absorb the energy around his cyclone, making it fully capable of continuing to raise the temperature.
Li Yu reached out and touched her burning hot belly, feeling a wave of helplessness.
He was acutely aware that he seemed to have no other choice.
If he forces his way out from another direction, he'll probably be roasted alive by this thing before he even gets back to Water City.
'Isn't this asking the impossible?'
Li Yu sighed inwardly, letting out a helpless sigh.
After pondering for a moment, he had no choice but to communicate with the Nightmare Beast in his mental sea again, hoping to get some answers from it.
"Nightmare Beast, please help me check, I feel like something is burning in my abdomen."
"This...isn't this inappropriate..." The Nightmare Beast seemed a little embarrassed and closed its eyes.
"What are you saying!" Li Yu's tone was tinged with anxiety.
"I have a spark in my abdomen, and this spark can now affect my movements!"
"Oh? Tell me about it." The Nightmare Beast opened its eyes and admitted that it had misunderstood.
Li Yu continued to explain, "It gets hot whenever I walk in any other direction, but it returns to normal when I walk south. Have you ever heard of this?"
The Nightmare Beast's large black eyes widened in disbelief.
"Spark? What's that?"
The Nightmare Beast's voice was filled with deep confusion:
"I've lived this long, how come I've never heard of this before?"
"Are you sure this thing really exists, or are you just imagining things?"
Li Yu was speechless for a moment, then paused, feeling the burning sensation in her abdomen still present, and hurriedly continued:
"How could I be wrong? Didn't you just see the heavenly fire in the sky? Can't you see the spark inside my body now?"
Upon hearing this, the Nightmare Beast on the crossbow immediately turned its eyes back and looked intently at Li Yu's abdomen.
It stared intently for a long time but found nothing unusual.
Then, it glanced at Li Yu with a suspicious look in its eyes:
"I really didn't find the spark you mentioned. Don't try to fool me. I already shared some energy with you before."
Seeing the Nightmare Beast's wary look, as if it was afraid Li Yu would steal its energy, Li Yu couldn't help but roll her eyes.
"You really haven't heard of it?" Li Yu slapped the repeating crossbow forcefully, trying to get the Nightmare Beast's attention, and said in a more emphasizing tone:
"Nightmare Beast, tell me the truth."
The eye on the crossbow reluctantly opened again, its pupils rolling around a few times:
"Li Yu, I've said it three times already, I can't see any spark you're talking about at all!"
Seeing the Nightmare Beast's strange, somewhat impatient reaction, Li Yu immediately felt a sense of suspicion.
Those round, darting eyes always made Li Yu feel that they were hiding some secret.
"Look at me!"
Li Yu grabbed the repeating crossbow, raised the Nightmare Beast to eye level, and stared intently at it:
"You've lived for so many years, devoured so many human spirits, and your curses are so masterful, how could you have never even heard of a spark?"
The Nightmare Beast immediately retorted, "How should I know! Maybe you ate something unclean!"
