Chapter 23
Lin Wan froze in place almost instantly. She pulled Chen Yu's hand away, no longer allowing him to touch her face.
Chen Yu was not annoyed, but just stroked Lin Wan's hair quietly and intimately, his expression could even be described as gentle.
His movements were gentle, and when he stroked Lin Wan's ear, Lin Wan could almost feel the delicate lines on his fingertips and the cool smell of mosquito repellent on his wrist.
"You're crazy."
Lin Wan's breathing was rapid and disordered, and he tried to get up randomly, but Chen Yu gently pressed down on his shoulders, half tempting and half forcing him back to the ground.
Lin Wan stopped where he was, raised his face upwards, supported himself on the ground with his hands, stretched one leg straight and slightly bent the other.
Her brain almost stopped spinning, but her senses seemed to become extra sharp in an instant.
She felt the damp and rough soil on her hands, the slight itch of tiny plants breaking through the soil, and the endless chirping of insects in her ears, like an endless night carnival.
His heartbeat kept on beating, again and again. Lin Wan could almost feel the contraction of his atria and the blood flowing slowly through his blood vessels.
In the noisy silence, she heard Chen Yu say, "Sister, be obedient and open your mouth."
His fingertips stroked Lin Wan's lips, slowly pressing down and lifting them up in a very suggestive movement.
A strange throbbing rose from the spine, transmitted through the nerves to the back, causing a tingling sensation.
Lin Wan felt his arms go a little weak.
She tilted her head to the right, trying her best to avoid Chen Yu's hand: "Xiao Yu, this won't do."
The next second, a kiss followed, different from the previous one. This kiss was clearly eager, as if trying to confirm something, with a sense of exploration.
Lin Wan's arms could no longer support her body and she fell backwards. Chen Yu protected her head with his hands.
The earth was cool, but his kiss was hot.
Chen Yu seemed to particularly like touching the hair by her ears, stroking it repeatedly along the texture of her hair.
His upper lip was bitten lightly, which seemed to be some kind of urging, and Lin Wan opened his mouth.
His kiss was deep, and he licked her upper jaw repeatedly. Lin Wan's palm subconsciously tightened.
Chen Yu lowered his eyes, and Lin Wan could see his own reflection and the starry sky in his eyes.
As Chen Yu exhaled lightly and moved away from Lin Wan, Lin Wan pushed her away completely and sat up. Chen Yu's clear eyes looked at Lin Wan through the dark night.
Lin Wan was a little breathless. She lifted the hair by her ear somewhat uncomfortably, looking at Chen Yu and then quickly looking away.
The two of them sat there in a daze for a long time, no one spoke.
The evening wind blew, bringing a cool breeze.
Chen Yu came over and rested his head on Lin Wan's neck.
Lin Wan didn't move for a long time, even his body was extremely stiff.
She closed her eyes and slowly reached out to touch Chen Yu's nose, then his lips. Chen Yu didn't resist her movements, and even bit his lips gently when Lin Wan's fingertips touched them.
"We're done," she said.
"No, I'm the only one who's finished." Chen Yu said.
It wasn't until she got home and took a shower that Lin Wan saw the unread messages and six missed calls on her phone. She hurriedly unlocked it and saw that they were all messages from Jiang Nuo.
Lin Wan wiped her dripping hair with one hand and called back with the other.
Jiang Nuo answered almost immediately, and the first thing he said was: "Wanwan, I'm done."
Is today some strange day? So many people are finished at the same time.
But Jiang Nuo often said this, so when Lin Wan first heard it, she didn't take it too seriously. Instead, she asked her leisurely, "What's wrong, Miss Jiang? Did you cook your father's Pu'er tea cake as seaweed again?"
Lin Wan was in a good mood and teased Jiang Nuo about his past embarrassments. Usually, Jiang Nuo would retort back, and the two would joke back and forth.
But this time Jiang Nuo didn't.
There was silence on the other end of the phone for a long time, so long that Lin Wan thought Jiang Nuo had hung up. She held the phone away from her ear to look at the call interface.
Jiang Nuo's voice rang out, trembling with obvious crying, and even his words were a little incoherent.
"He Jianing...Jianing came to my house. We were just joking around when my dad walked in and asked me what I wanted to eat...I wasn't hungry at all, but he saw...he saw us kissing."
The smile on Lin Wan's face froze, and the temperature of his hand dropped instantly.
Jiang Nuo burst into tears and his voice became hoarse.
"I'm my father's only daughter... and he was thinking of finding a marriage partner for me. But he saw me..."
She burst into tears: "What should I do...what should I do..."
The following words were nasal and muffled.
Lin Wan couldn't come up with any solution, but just tried to comfort her as much as possible and let Jiang Nuo believe in the relationship between father and daughter.
Jiang Nuo cried until midnight, and finally fell asleep when she was exhausted. Lin Wan didn't hang up the phone, but stayed with her quietly.
Yes, what to do.
What should I do with this kind of emotion? The warm and cozy place in my heart has gradually become colder, like a broken window in winter, letting in the cold wind.
Lin Wan tossed and turned all night.
After finishing the third day of filming, Lin Wan said goodbye to Director Yang.
Standing at the intersection, Yang Enchang expressed his still hope that Lin Wan could pick up her childhood hobby and start painting again.
Lin Wan laughed and said, "When I was a kid, it wasn't like now. I liked so many things, but I always gave up halfway."
Yang Enchang looked at Lin Wan's smiling face and sighed. Finally, he said nothing and directed the photography crew to leave.
Lin Wan was all too familiar with this kind of sigh; the Lin family elders often used it on her. Behind this sigh lay the meaning of helplessness and abandonment.
In the past, Lin Wan would not resist so obviously. She would always pretend to be a sensible junior on the surface, but today she was particularly reckless.
What's funny is that before leaving, Yang Enchang handed Chen Yu his business card, saying that if he didn't want to study that day, he could ask him to make a movie.
Chen Yu took it with a smile and said thank you.
A large number of photographic equipment were taken out of the house, and the space became more spacious, but Lin Wan felt empty inside.
She closed the door and just turned around when she saw Chen Yu.
He pinched Lin Wan's chin and kissed the corner of Lin Wan's lips.
Chen Yu held her waist and pressed her against the door frame. The kiss was a little heavy, and the sound of lips and tongues entwined could be heard in her ears.
Lin Wan patted Chen Yu's shoulders twice and parted their lips.
Lin Wan then realized that he was holding the birthday wine she had given him before. He said that the program recording was over and he wanted to celebrate with her.
Lin Wan looked at the birthday wine in his hand and nodded slowly.
The two climbed up to the attic.
He asked her, "Sister, what are you going to do when you get back?"
Alcohol was in her head, and Lin Wan nodded dazedly, looking at the beautiful person before her. His eyelashes were so long. Numb from the intoxication, or perhaps it was something she had been wanting to do for a long time, Lin Wan reached out and touched Chen Yu's eyelashes. Her skin was slightly cool, and her eyelids were soft and thin.
Her movements were very light, as if she were stroking a piece of art, with her fingertips making a subtle touch.
After I go back... I'll stay at home for a few more months and then go to the UK, far away from here.
But what about Chen Yu? Lin Wan paused.
When Lin Wan was a little distracted, someone grabbed her wrist and pressed her palm against the cheek of the person opposite. The movement was very gentle, and their skin touched and the temperature was transferred.
"Sister, you know I like you."
The boy, whose cheek was being stroked, looked at her in the moonlight. His skin radiated a soft glow, which reminded Lin Wan of the Siren, the mermaid who sang on the sea and seduced sailors.
"I like you, too." Lin Wan had said this to Chen Yu so many times that she felt no burden when she said it.
She admitted that she had a mischievous intention when she said this, but that was all Lin Wan could do.
——This is the only way she can go. She has no other choice.
Lin Wan wanted to withdraw her hand, but just as she moved, Chen Yu gently pulled her forward.
His light-colored pupils looked at her in the moonlight, like a cat cautiously testing its owner's bottom line.
Lin Wan's movements were somewhat unsteady, and she leaned forward, almost falling onto Chen Yu. However, her hands were firmly planted on the ground, and there was always a distance between them, yet their movements were extremely ambiguous and intimate.
"Sister, can you kiss me?"
A clear and melodious voice sounded, and Lin Wan's memory was instantly brought back to their first meeting a year ago.
It would be great if the relationship between the two could go back to that time. Obviously, back then, the relationship between the two was still so normal, why is it now...
Lin Wan subconsciously stepped back, frantically trying to stand up, but a hand gently pressed down on the back of her neck, preventing her from moving back.
It's always like this. Although Lin Wan is in the dominant position in terms of actions, she is actually the one at a disadvantage.
"You're drunk." Lin Wan said.
His soft lips touched her collarbone, carrying the same rich aroma of wine. This kiss was so light, as light as a fallen leaf.
Chen Yu stepped back, lowered his eyes, and looked at Lin Wan.
He is testing.
Lin Wan also looked at him.
In an old attic, in front of the dark night sky, two young men who didn't know how high the sky was looked at each other.
Seeing that Lin Wan didn't stop him, Chen Yu's movements became much more urgent. He pressed his lips against Lin Wan's collarbone, and his fingers pressing on the back of Lin Wan's neck kept making circles.
Lin Wan could feel him gently sucking on her neck, a touch that was almost numbing. Their breath was so close that Chen Yu's eyelashes seemed to brush against her cheek.
——This is wrong.
Chen Yu slowly fell forward, letting Lin Wan fall on top of him.
——That’s the end.
Chen Yu stroked the hair beside Lin Wan's ear.
——There is a cliff ahead, now is the time to stop.
Lin Wan finally came to her senses and put her hands on Chen Yu's shoulders to help her stand up.
She pushed him away, turned around and ran downstairs, leaving Chen Yu alone there.
Chen Yu lowered his eyes, touched his lips which were still glistening with moisture with his fingertips, his expression unclear.
Looking up, his eyes seemed especially dark.
Lin Wan panicked and stumbled towards his temporary room. After thinking for a moment, he locked the door again.
Jiang Nuo has learned a lesson and he must not go down the wrong path.
Chen Yu's preference was so obvious, but he couldn't give him any response.
Lin Wan curled up on the bed, shaking and trembling in fear.
They still have a bright future and can't make mistakes in a place like this...can't make mistakes.
Lin Wan warned himself again and again.
Chen Yu is younger than her and has no sense of propriety, so she can't do that.
At least, not now.
She declined Huang Qiangqiang's invitation to go out to sea on the pretext of feeling unwell, and flew back to Jiangcheng alone.
