When Shen Nanzhi caught up, Mu Chenshuang was already gone. An inexplicable pain welled up in his heart and he couldn't control it.
Fu Junheng held Mu Chenshuang's fingers as they walked forward.
The two remained silent, neither speaking, and neither knew where he was taking her with him.
Their existence has astonished and amazed countless people.
We stopped in front of a lantern shop.
Fu Junheng stopped walking. He asked for a rabbit lantern. Throughout the entire process, he held her hand tightly without letting go for a moment. In fact, he would clench his fist tightly without any loosening.
Fu Junheng turned around and handed the rabbit lantern in his hand to her. He smiled slightly, making her feel that all the beauty in the world paled in comparison to his smile, and even the fireworks seemed to lose their luster.
"The one you just had was broken, so I'll bring you a new one," he said, without asking her where she had been or who she had been with.
Mu Chenshuang lowered his eyes, his gaze falling on the lantern. His long, slender fingers holding the bamboo pole made the lantern look exceptionally beautiful.
Seeing that she didn't reach out to take it, Fu Junheng asked in a low, hoarse voice, "Don't you like it?"
The words were spoken.
Mu Chenshuang subconsciously replied, "No, this is the one."
As she spoke, she reached out and took the lantern. The moment she took it, her fingers inadvertently touched the back of his hand. Even though he was holding her other hand tightly, this unintentional touch felt like touching fire, making her whole body burn and her cheeks flushed unconsciously.
Fu Junheng looked at him, his smile deepening.
"Shuang'er!"
He suddenly called out.
Mu Chenshuang was startled and looked up. Just as she raised her head, before she could react, the man suddenly wrapped his arms around her slender waist and lowered his head to kiss her lips deeply, domineering yet gentle, tender and beautiful.
A murmur of surprise rippled through the crowd, but Mu Chenshuang seemed oblivious to it all. She simply stared at him with wide eyes, unsure how to push the man away from her.
Only when Fu Junheng slowly released her did Mu Chenshuang suddenly come to her senses, glaring at him, "What are you doing?"
Fu Junheng smiled and said, his eyes filled with tender starlight, "You seem so moved by just a lantern. That doesn't seem fair to you. So I'll make it up to you with a kiss and let you be moved again."
These words were spoken.
Mu Chenshuang was embarrassed and annoyed. "Who said I was moved? Stop trying to flatter yourself."
She turned to leave in anger; it was utterly humiliating. This man was truly shameless and didn't care about the occasion.
But Fu Junheng grabbed her hand, and with a pull, Mu Chenshuang was forced to turn around and return to the man's arms. She glared at him angrily, "Are you coming or not?"
At this moment, she wished she could find a crack in the ground to hide in; she couldn't act like nothing had happened like this shameless man.
Fu Junheng still wore a wicked smile, his thin, red lips even more beautiful than a woman's. "Let's go!"
Mu Chenshuang followed the man, carrying a lantern in one hand. Along the way, many men and women were like them, with the woman carrying the lantern and the man holding her hand. The two seemed like lovers, a scene as beautiful as a poem or a painting, making people turn their heads. How could there be such a beautiful and well-matched couple in the world?
Fu Junheng took her to release a wishing lantern.
Mu Chenshuang didn't refuse. Since it was the Lantern Festival and she was already out, she really wanted to experience the romance of making a wishing lantern.
Mu Chenshuang squatted down and placed the lantern in the river. She gently floated the lantern on the water with her hand, and it slowly drifted towards the center of the river with the current.
"What did you wish for?"
Mu Chenshuang stood up, looked into the distance, and said calmly, "Since it's a wish, how can it be fulfilled if you just say it out loud?"
Fu Junheng looked at her and asked, "Then do you know what I just wished for?"
Mu Chenshuang turned around and met those deep eyes. Her heart tightened for no reason, and she looked away. "I don't want to know."
Fu Junheng reached out and hooked his little finger around hers with his little finger. The movement was so gentle that it was hard to tell if he was teasing her on purpose or if he was deliberately testing her. Every touch made Mu Chenshuang's heart flutter.
She couldn't take it anymore, and just as she pulled her hand away, the large hand that had been teasing her skillfully gripped her slender fingers.
Mu Chenshuang suddenly looked up and glared at him, her clear, beautiful eyes filled with displeasure and annoyance.
Fu Junheng gazed at her with a wicked look in his eyes, a smile playing on his lips, and said slowly in a low voice, "When I was looking for you just now, I also released a lantern, hoping that I could find you. I didn't expect that I would actually find you."
Mu Chenshuang was taken aback. This man had just released a lantern halfway through the journey. She really couldn't imagine how such a cold and noble man could release a lantern alone in the midst of a crowd.
"So my wish will definitely come true."
As he spoke, his gaze toward her grew increasingly intense.
That look made Mu Chenshuang even more flustered. She quickly looked away and said in a slightly panicked tone, "It's almost time. I need to go back to the manor."
