Mu Chenshuang felt her body relax as the man released her from her shoulders and turned her over to face him.
In the darkness, his golden eyes, gleaming with a halo, appeared especially deep and sharp. He lowered his gaze and stared at her, as if trying to see right through her.
All that could be heard was his deep, powerful voice asking, "I just want to know, Shuang'er, how much affection do you have for me?"
His eyes seemed to say that if she dared to say no, he would tear her apart and devour her whole.
Even though Mu Chenshuang appeared calm, she was panicking inside, her heart pounding. She avoided his gaze and said indifferently, "What's the point of asking these questions? As the crown prince of a country, you should learn to conceal your true feelings and not expose any weaknesses, so as not to give others an opportunity to take advantage of you."
Fu Junheng stared intently at the woman in front of him.
Suddenly.
He suddenly chuckled softly, a laugh tinged with bitterness.
His sudden laughter made Mu Chenshuang's heart tighten.
"Shuang'er, you speak with such certainty, so why don't you dare to look me in the eye and answer my questions directly?"
Fu Junheng pressed on with his questions.
Mu Chenshuang frowned slightly and subconsciously clenched her fists.

Her words instantly darkened Fu Junheng's expression. She clearly had feelings for him; her heartbeat and her eyes couldn't lie to him whenever he got close to her.
At this very moment, he had already laid out his feelings for her, yet she could still say such things and remain unmoved.
Mu Chenshuang did not hear his response. She did not turn around to look at him. She just smiled bitterly to herself. How could a prince as high and mighty as him, who was admired by thousands, understand the meaning of "to find a soulmate and stay together until old age"?
If she cannot meet someone she loves and spend her life with, she would rather choose to remain alone for the rest of her life.
All that could be heard was Mu Chenshuang's sigh, "You probably won't understand. I've already said what I needed to say. You should make a clean break."

He asked in an annoyed tone.
