Chapter 815 Trusting Nobody

Zhu Qin stood up, his eyes flashing coldly, and looked down at Zhu Yue, asking with a warning, "What happened to those account books I asked you to keep back then?"

As soon as his voice, cold as hell, came through, Zhu Yue felt a chill run down her spine and her heart trembled involuntarily.

Zhu Yue slowly clenched her hands hidden under her clothes, barely managing to support herself on the ground. Feeling somewhat guilty and uneasy, she lowered her eyes, deliberately avoiding Zhu Qin's gaze.

"Hmph! You really think I'm that easy to fool!" Zhu Qin suddenly pulled open the drawer on the desk and swept the account books inside onto the floor.

As if deliberately throwing them at Zhu Yue, almost half of the ledgers hit her shoulder and then scattered all over the ground.

"You have truly disappointed me. If you weren't my most beloved and trusted daughter, how could I have entrusted such an important matter to you!"

The cold-hearted and ruthless Zhu Qin felt that everyone in the world was more or less like him. He didn't trust anyone except his daughter Zhu Yue, who gave him some peace of mind.

But to his surprise, this very person he trusted and relied on betrayed him on such an important matter.

Thinking of this, Zhu Qin suddenly became enraged like a bloodthirsty beast. He squatted down again and grabbed Zhu Yue by the neck.

At this moment, Zhu Qin could not even see the expression of a normal father looking at his daughter; he looked more like a sinister and vicious murderer who could take lives at any moment.

Zhu Yue could also sense his desire to kill her at that moment, and her eyes reddened. She felt a wave of sorrow and wondered what meaning there was left for her to live in this world.

Seeing Zhu Yue slowly close her eyes, seemingly wishing she could die at Zhu Qin's hands, Zhu Qin suddenly sneered and released her grip.

"Want to die? Easy." Zhu Qin tormented his prey like a hunter repeatedly torturing his prey. "Hand over the real ledger, or I'll kill your daughter right now!"

Zhu Qin certainly wished he could kill the child he considered an ominous sign immediately, but then he remembered that the real account book he had kept over the years was still in Zhu Yue's hands, and that child happened to be the one Zhu Yue cherished most.

If the child hadn't still had some use, Zhu Qin would have killed her without hesitation.

Just as Zhu Qin had anticipated, the moment he uttered those words, Zhu Yue's eyes immediately filled with undisguised terror and fear, as well as a will to survive.

"No, Father, let her go!" Zhu Yue hurriedly grabbed Zhu Qin's leg, pleading desperately, hoping that he would still have a little bit of compassion.

But it's clear that Zhu Qin didn't have that kind of thing.

Zhu Qin sneered, "It seems this trick really worked on you. I can only give you a maximum of ten days. If you haven't handed over the real ledger by then, you can start collecting the corpse of your monster daughter."

"The biggest mistake I ever made was trusting you. You actually dared to deceive me with fake ledgers and hide the real ones."

Zhu Qin's voice was as cold as a poisoned knife. He stared fiercely at Zhu Yue and said, "If you dare to hand this ledger over to someone else, or deceive me again, I will kill you and your daughter! This is the last warning!"
