Mu Chenshuang waited for Qi Ye to return.
He did not return to the Marquis's residence until noon.
"Has it been handed over to Doctor Li?"
Qi Ye stepped forward, picked up a cup of tea, tilted her head back and drank it all in one gulp, and replied, "I've given it to Doctor Li. But you guessed right, Miss, someone was following Doctor Li. I was followed when I came back, and we almost got into a fight, but I managed to shake them off."
Mu Chenshuang poured him another cup of tea. "Then do you know who's been following you?"
Qi Ye picked up his teacup and sat down on a stool. "Besides those people from the Imperial Observatory, who else could it be?"
Qi Ye took a sip of tea, put it down, looked at Mu Chen Shuang with a puzzled expression, and asked, "Miss, are you really a spiritual healer?"
Mu Chenshuang lowered her eyes and said in a deep voice, "You'll know later. Go and check on Xiao Li. He didn't control his internal energy well today and injured Wei Xu. Go and see him."
Qi Ye stood up. "Alright then!"
After Nanaya left.
A guard entered and reported, "Princess."
"What's up?"
The guard handed the envelope to Mu Chenshuang and replied, "This is a letter that the Second Miss sent back to Madam."
Because Mu Chenshuang had ordered that all correspondence and messages between Lu Wei and Mu Yazhi must be communicated to her first, and the two of them were not allowed to step out of the Marquis's residence.
Mu Chenshuang glanced at the envelope handed to her by the guard, took it, and opened the letter.
The letter contained nothing special, stating that she would arrive in Kyoto in about half a month at the earliest.
Mu Chunxi has been traveling with her master for three years since leaving the Marquis's mansion. Her master is a wise and venerable man who once saved Feng Guche's life, and she owes him a debt of gratitude.
However, she and the original owner of this body did not have much interaction.
Of course, now that Lu Wei is in trouble, a confrontation is inevitable in the future.
Mu Chenshuang placed the letter in an envelope and handed it to the guard, saying, "Send it to the backyard."
The guard took back the envelope and respectfully replied, "Yes."
Inside the side courtyard.
Even now, with spring flowers in full bloom, the place still looks desolate. The houses are not exactly dilapidated or shabby, but compared to the main courtyard of the past, they are worlds apart. Even the servants have been reduced to only three.
Mu Yazhi stormed back to the side courtyard, hurling insults and vile words at Mu Chenshuang, wishing she could curse her to the deepest hell. She wanted to block Mu Chenshuang from leaving the manor.
She used to live a life of luxury, and everyone in the Marquis's mansion would bow and scrape before her. Now, she has fallen from grace, and even a gatekeeper dares to give her attitude. The difference in treatment is like night and day, and every day she stays here is unbearable.
She wished she could tear Mu Chenshuang to pieces.
Mu Yazhi muttered curses under her breath as she entered the living room. She saw her mother looking at the envelope in her hand and asked sullenly, "Mother, whose letter are you reading?"
Lu Wei lowered her hand and replied calmly, "Your older sister's."
Mu Yazhi was astonished. She quickly stepped forward, excitedly reached out and picked up the letter, reading it over and over.
“Your eldest sister is coming back,” Lu Wei said.
Mu Yazhi looked up at Lu Wei in surprise and said, "I just wrote a letter to my eldest sister a few days ago."
I guess the letter she wrote hasn't reached her older sister yet.
“Chunxi must have planned to return to the capital a long time ago. It’s good that she’s back.”
When Lu Wei said this, her complexion had clearly improved considerably.
Mu Yazhi's anger subsided considerably, but a ruthless glint appeared in her eyes. "When my eldest sister returns, she'll be in for a beating, Mu Chenshuang."
Mu Yazhi sat heavily on the stool next to her and slammed her fist on the table. "I can't stand this awful place anymore." As she spoke, she reached out and grabbed Lu Wei's hand. "Mother, there's really no other way now. I really can't stay in this place for another second."
Lu Wei stood up and slowly walked towards the door, a fierce look gathering between her brows. She stopped at the door and looked into the distance. "There is no other way for now, but Ya'er, don't worry. We suffer today, but we will make Mu Chenshuang pay back double in the future."
