Chapter 323 A Fleeting Kiss

As Mu Chenshuang listened to his words, the look in his eyes that seemed to see right through her made her already flustered heart even more unsettled.

She pushed him away, her face darkening. Just as she was about to reprimand him, she heard a voice call out, "Princess Weiyang."

Mu Chenshuang was taken aback. The words of reprimand stuck in her throat. She turned her head and saw Feng Xilan standing not far away in the corridor.

Fu Junheng looked at him, his face immediately darkened, and a cold aura of indifference instantly emanated from him, as if the gentleness and smile from before had never existed.

Feng Xilan walked up to Mu Chenshuang, looking at her with a complex and deep gaze, and asked, "There is something I don't understand, and I hope Princess Weiyang can tell me the truth and clear up my doubts."

Looking at Feng Xilan now, Mu Chenshuang felt both familiar and unfamiliar, considering that the two had only been divorced for less than two months.

"What is it?" Mu Chenshuang's tone was slightly distant.

Mu Chenshuang's indifference made Feng Xilan's heart sink, but he did not show it on his face. He asked in a deep voice, "Back in Yongcheng, were you really secretly injured and poisoned?"

Feng Xilan looked at Mu Chenshuang with an extremely serious gaze, as if trying to see something in her eyes, but she remained calm and composed throughout.

Mu Chenshuang knew what he wanted to confirm, but even if he did, it would be meaningless.

"What else does Your Highness think?"

"Now that I think about it, it wasn't Yu'er who could have cured me when I was poisoned."

Mu Chenshuang sneered inwardly. If Feng Xilan had had such doubts back then, the original Mu Chenshuang might not have been so heartbroken over him, but it was all fate.

"She treated him."

Mu Chenshuang spoke frankly without any emotion, and did not offer any further explanation.

Feng Xilan stood still, staring intently at Mu Chenshuang's receding figure, her gaze growing increasingly gloomy.

Sudden.

Another wave of headache struck.

Seeing this, a nearby eunuch rushed forward to support him, "Your Highness!"

Fu Junheng insisted on escorting Mu Chenshuang back to the Marquis's residence, but Mu Chenshuang did not want him to continue arguing in public.

Back at the Marquis's residence.

Seeing that the man wasn't leaving, Mu Chenshuang asked, "What are you planning to do now?"

Now, Mu Chenshuang's attitude towards Fu Junheng is completely different from before, when she could still politely address him as "Your Highness the Crown Prince."

Fu Junheng looked at her and said, "No matter what, I did help you. Aren't you going to invite me in for a cup of tea?"

Mu Chenshuang stared at him, her attitude clearly indicating that even if he didn't invite her, she would still have to come in for a cup of tea.

Mu Chenshuang didn't answer him. She turned and walked into the mansion. She was about to reach the gate when she heard no sound from behind.

She didn't want to interfere and let him do whatever he wanted, but in the end she stopped stepping over the threshold, turned around and looked back, and saw Fu Junheng standing there staring at her, with no intention of following her.

Mu Chenshuang looked at him, her brows furrowing slightly. What exactly was this man planning to do now?

"Are you expecting me to have you carried in?"

Fu Junheng stepped forward and stood in front of Mu Chenshuang. He raised his hand and unhesitatingly held the back of Mu Chenshuang's head, then lowered his head and kissed her forehead.

The gentle, fleeting kiss sent a shiver through Mu Chenshuang's body, like an electric current.

Before Mu Chenshuang could recover, she heard the man's deep, magnetic voice say, "You've been frightened today, so I won't disturb you. Go back to your room and rest."

Mu Chenshuang looked up at him, her heart tightening, and for a moment she didn't know how to answer.

Fu Junheng looked into the woman's clear eyes, which were filled with a girlish confusion, and a gentle smile appeared on his lips, which made Mu Chenshuang panic.

He didn't say anything more, withdrew his hand, released her, and strode away.

Mu Chenshuang stood there, gazing intently at Fu Junheng's departing figure, her deep, dark eyes reflecting a heart trembling with uncontrollable emotions.
