"You're welcome!" Zhu Yue said, then looked at Mu Chenshuang with delight and said, "Perfect timing, Xiao Jing keeps talking about when he can meet the fairy sister."
Upon hearing this, Mu Chenshuang was even more at a loss for words to refuse.
Mu Chenshuang then followed Zhu Yue into the carriage, while Fu Junheng leaned against the outside of the carriage.
Zhu Yue chatted with Mu Chenshuang, "There's a Guanyin Temple on this mountain that's said to be very effective in granting children. Are Miss Chen and Young Master here today to pray for a child?"
Upon hearing this, Mu Chenshuang felt a sudden tightness in her chest. She glanced out the curtain out of the corner of her eye and denied it, saying, "No, we're not in the kind of relationship you're thinking of. I just went up the mountain to relax and happened to run into you."
His words were clearly intended to distance him from any relationship with the two of them.
Zhu Yue listened, puzzled. The two seemed to be in a romantic relationship, but she didn't press the matter further.
The man sitting in the carriage outside the curtain had a somber expression, his face dark and unfathomable.
The servant sitting next to Fu Junheng, who was driving the carriage, had been on edge the moment Fu Junheng got in, his hands trembling uncontrollably as he held the reins.
Especially at this moment, he felt as if the blood in his body was about to freeze, and the oppressive atmosphere around him made it hard for him to breathe. As a result, he was unable to concentrate on driving the carriage and did not notice the large tree on the side of the road ahead that was about to break and fall.
Just as the carriage was about to pass, a loud cracking sound was heard, and the tree trunk was about to fall.
Fu Junheng reacted swiftly, grabbing the carriage reins with one hand. The servants beside him were so frightened by his imposing manner that they went limp and fell to the ground.
Then, with a loud crash, the huge tree trunk smashed in front of the carriage. The horses were startled and reared up, causing the carriage to lurch and sway.
Fu Junheng braced himself on the carriage with one hand, a powerful force keeping the carriage firmly in place, while his other hand held the reins.
The horses quickly calmed down.
Mu Chenshuang lifted the curtain. "What's going on?"
"The tree trunk suddenly broke," Fu Junheng said, turning to look at her and asking with concern, "Did you bump into anything?"
Mu Chenshuang glanced at him and said in a low voice, "It's nothing."
Fu Junheng didn't ask any more questions. He withdrew his gaze, got off the carriage, walked to the broken tree trunk, bent down, lifted the thick trunk with one hand, and threw it to the side of the road.
Zhu Yue, who was in the carriage, was shocked to see this scene. He had lifted the tree trunk with one hand with ease, a task that would have taken at least ten grown men to lift.
He said in a surprised tone, "This young master must also be quite skilled in martial arts."
Mu Chenshuang couldn't answer; she couldn't accurately judge the level of this man's skill.
But today, the female assassin in the dark only sensed his presence and immediately showed panic, hurriedly leaving, which shows how terrifying he is. And every time she faced his coercion, she had no ability to resist at all.
Fu Junheng flicked his hand, sweeping away the fallen leaves and dirt that clung to his hands. The air current stirred his clothes, making them move even without wind. His refined and elegant demeanor and every move he made exuded an air of proud nobility.
He turned around and met Mu Chenshuang's deep gaze.
He responded with a slight smile. Mu Chenshuang's eyes darkened slightly as she realized what he meant. She lowered the curtain and sat back in the carriage.
Zhu Yue followed and got back into the carriage. She thought to herself that the young master was indeed a rare talent in terms of both temperament and appearance. He was so handsome that he seemed otherworldly. Despite his aloof and cold demeanor that kept people at arm's length, he became exceptionally gentle when he saw Miss Chen.
Although Miss Shen didn't seem to appreciate it at all, when there was someone in her heart, even if her eyes were filled with dissatisfaction, her gaze was still full of his image.
However, a woman of Shen's temperament and beauty is a perfect match for him; they can be described as a match made in heaven.
The carriage restarted and began to move slowly.
Half an hour later, the carriage stopped in front of a mansion. The mansion was built against the mountain and by the water, in harmony with the natural world. The fact that Zhu Yue could build such a mansion here shows that she was no ordinary wealthy family.
Zhu Yue led the two inside. The architecture and scenery of the mansion were even more amazing. The buildings were carved and painted, and the flowers were in full bloom. The mountain stream flowed down and formed a stream that flowed through the covered bridge in the courtyard. As dusk fell, lanterns gradually lit up on both sides of the covered bridge and were reflected in the clear stream. It was a beautiful and poetic scene.
“Madam Zhu, this house is truly an excellent place for recuperation,” Mu Chenshuang said.
Zhu Yue replied, "It's also because of Xiao Jing's illness that we live at the foot of this mountain to reduce external stimulation to her body."
"Are there any other relatives of Madam Zhu living in this house?"
