Chapter 773 Killed

Dr. Li shouted "This is bad!" and jumped out of bed, slipping on his shoes as he rushed outside, thinking to himself, "Oh no!"

The two assassins in black who sneaked into the clinic tonight first stabbed the man on the bed. After he struggled a couple of times and lay on the bed stiff as a dead fish with his eyes wide open, they were about to go forward and finish him off when they suddenly heard a series of hurried footsteps outside.

One of the men in black, with a cold face, grabbed the man who was about to step forward and finish him off, saying, "Go! Don't involve the Divine Doctor Sect."

Although the other man in black was unwilling, he felt a little relieved when he heard the person next to him coldly say "He won't live." The two of them turned around and jumped out of the window. Like two ghostly figures, the black shadows quickly disappeared on the roof.

With a "bang," Dr. Li suddenly pushed the door open.

By the dim moonlight, he could see that the man on the bed in front of him had his eyes open, but there was a bloody hole in his body from which blood was gushing out. His mouth was half open, as if he wanted to say something, but he was clearly only breathing.

Upon seeing the scene before him, Doctor Li knew that the man was beyond saving; he had been stabbed in the heart, and there was nothing that could be done.

Seeing this, Dr. Li could only rush to the man's side and put his ear close, trying his best to hear what the man's last words were.

When the man saw Doctor Li approach, he indeed spoke in a hoarse, almost breathless voice, then his whole body trembled violently, he caught his breath in his throat, suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood, and then he died.

Dr. Li watched helplessly as the man in front of him slammed straight onto the bed, his eyes wide open as if he had died with his eyes wide open in disbelief.

Feeling a pang of pity, Doctor Li thought it was a great loss. After all, he had taken such good care of the man for so long, and he had hoped that the man could be saved, but he was still killed in this way. Helplessly, he could only raise his hand to cover the man's eyes and close them for him.

It was already close to the time between Yin and Mao (3-5 AM), and Doctor Li couldn't sleep. He could only quietly tidy up the man and the house, planning to tell Mu Chenshuang about it when she arrived.

When it was fully light, Dr. Li, who had already tidied up the house, even wiped it down twice with a rag. Only then did he start to feel sleepy, so he simply propped himself up on his knees and took a nap.

He didn't know how much time had passed, but he was awakened by the sound of Linglong and the young doctor searching for him.

He quickly pushed open the door and came out, only to see Mu Chenshuang also coming this way.

It turned out that after Mu Chenshuang entered the clinic early in the morning, she heard Linglong say that she couldn't find Doctor Li, so she guessed that something must have happened here and rushed over.

Unexpectedly, something really did happen.

Mu Chenshuang lifted the white sheet that Doctor Li had covered the man with, and after a quick examination, she confirmed that the cause of death was indeed excessive blood loss from the heart artery.

There was no doubt about the cause of death, but Mu Chenshuang stared blankly at the man's wound for a moment. She seemed to have seen this kind of one-hit kill technique somewhere before.

It seems to have been used by the assassins who were chasing Qi Ye. Back then, when those people were entangled with him for Qi Ye's black blade, they also used a similar move, but he managed to dodge it.

Judging from the wound, Mu Chenshuang was even more certain that this man was indeed an assassin, and that he and those other people must have been from the same organization.
