Chapter 21 Going Home
Su Jiaojiao nodded, her heart filled with confidence.
She knew that although this crisis was dangerous, it had also made her realize the importance of force.
In the future, she not only needs to continue improving her looks, but also make good use of her top-tier combat skills to protect herself, while also forging a new path in the world of group streaming.
…
And so, Su Jiaojiao spent the next two days or so in Beijing.
I packed my suitcase to go home.
I booked the earliest flight for the next day.
On the day of departure, Su Jiaojiao wore a cream-colored knitted cardigan.
She wore a light pink slip dress underneath, and her long, cherry blossom pink hair cascaded smoothly over her shoulders.
The ends of the hair are slightly curled
She wasn't wearing heavy makeup, just a light layer of strawberry-scented lip gloss. Her peach blossom eyes were clear and bright, and her eyelashes trembled gently like two small fans.
As I walked into the airport terminal with my small silver suitcase...
Almost instantly became the focus of attention
At the check-in counter, the middle-aged man in front of her subconsciously slowed down his movements.
He kept turning back, almost dropping his ID card on the ground.
Several young girls in the waiting area next to her covered their mouths and whispered among themselves, secretly pointing their phone cameras at her, but then quickly withdrew them for fear of being too forward;
Even the airport staff who were passing by couldn't help but glance at her a couple more times.
There was even a young ground staff member
She came over blushing and asked if she needed help carrying her luggage.
Su Jiaojiao would always thank her softly with her eyes crinkled in a smile, her voice as sweet as honey.
Thank you, but I can manage on my own.
Her adorable and charming appearance melted the hearts of everyone around her.
Dumplings excitedly flooded her mind:
"Host! Host! You're guaranteed to turn heads!"
That guy's heart was practically racing at 180! His affection level jumped another 20 points!
Su Jiaojiao sighed helplessly in her heart:
"Tuanzi, stop staring at these things."
She was already used to the attention she received because of her looks, but she still felt a little uncomfortable being stared at so openly every time.
After boarding, she sat down by the window and had just fastened her seatbelt when the boy next to her blushed and handed her a bottle of warm milk.
"Um... I noticed you didn't bring any water, here you go."
The boy was wearing a school uniform and looked like a high school student; his ears were so red they looked like they were about to bleed.
Su Jiaojiao took the milk, her fingertips lightly touching the other person's hand, and the boy recoiled as if he had been electrocuted.
She thanked him softly.
Thank you so much, you're so kind.
Her peach blossom eyes curved into crescent moons, making the boy almost bump into the back of the chair in front of him. He repeatedly said "You're welcome," and then remained stiff the entire time, not daring to look at her again.
As the plane took off, Su Jiaojiao watched the city skyline shrink outside the window, feeling a strange sense of relief. She took out her phone, and as soon as she turned it on, two WeChat messages popped up.
One message was from Lu Jinyuan, accompanied by a photo of his assistant shopping at the supermarket. The shopping cart was overflowing with her favorite strawberries, mangoes, and various snacks.
[Lu Jinyuan]: Jiaojiao, I know you're home. I'll have my assistant send these snacks to you. I'll go there after I finish what I'm doing here.
The other one was from Jiang Yi, who posted an audio clip of a piano performance with a gentle and soothing melody.
[Jiang Yi]: This is a short melody I just wrote, perfect for listening to while traveling. It can help you relax. The weather has been getting cooler lately, so remember to wear more clothes.
Su Jiaojiao looked at the two messages, paused her fingertip on the screen, and replied with "Thank you" to both.
As soon as she put down her phone, Tuanzi started making a fuss:
"Host, host! Both of these big shots are so considerate!"
Boss Lu practically wants to move the whole supermarket to you, and Boss Jiang even wrote a song just for you—this treatment is amazing! Why don't you just go for it? Having both of them would be wonderful!
"Tuanzi, don't talk nonsense."
Su Jiaojiao silently refuted in her heart.
"Right now, I just want to focus on my livestreaming. My looks aren't at their peak yet, and I only have 16 million followers. It's too early to talk about these things."
Her looks are currently only at level eight, quite a distance from the level ten ceiling. While her singing and dancing skills are top-tier, she always feels they aren't stable enough.
The little dumpling grunted twice:
"But host, they really love you!"
I can feel their affection levels increasing every day. Boss Lu's affection level is almost 18 million now, and Boss Jiang's is 17 million. Together, they're almost matching your total affection level! They're so cold to everyone else, but they're so good to you. It's so rare!"
Su Jiaojiao didn't reply.
She wasn't unaware of Lu Jinyuan and Jiang Yi's feelings; it was just that their love was too intense, even bordering on obsessive and unsettling.
Lu Jinyuan would secretly memorize all her preferences, even if she casually mentioned wanting to eat a certain brand of small cake, he would appear at the door of her hotel the next day;
Jiang Yi would quietly collect all of her live stream recordings, listen to every song she sang repeatedly, and even remember clearly the occasional times she sang off-key.
…
This almost pathological attention made her grateful, but she couldn't help feeling helpless.
She tried to keep her distance.
But the two of them always manage to appear in her life in various ways, both gentle and assertive, making it impossible for her to completely push them away.
It was already afternoon when the plane landed.
Su Jiaojiao dragged her suitcase out of the airport. As soon as she reached the exit, the air was filled with the faint fragrance of osmanthus, which instantly made her relax.
I took a taxi back to that house, and the moment I opened the door, a familiar sense of warmth washed over me.
The succulents on the windowsill were plump and just as they had been when she left.
She put her suitcase down first.
The first thing she did was clean the huge round fish tank. This tank was custom-made; it was over a meter in diameter and she usually kept small goldfish in it.
She rolled up her sleeves, drained the water, and carefully wiped the inside of the tub. Her long, cherry-pink hair fell down, obscuring half of her face.
She moved gently, cleaning even the algae in the corner of the fish tank spotlessly, humming a tuneless little tune in a soft, sweet voice.
After cleaning the fish tank, she filled it with warm water, put a few goldfish in, and watched them swim happily in the water, a smile involuntarily spreading across her face.
Only then did she go to the bathroom, fill a tub with hot water, and sprinkle some rose petals on it.
She took off her clothes, soaked in the hot water, and sighed contentedly.
The physical fatigue from her top-tier combat skills gradually dissipated as she soaked in the hot water. Leaning against the edge of the bathtub, her eyes closed, her fingers unconsciously circling the water's surface.
Just then, the phone rang at the bathroom door; it was a video call from Lu Jinyuan.
Su Jiaojiao hesitated for a moment, but answered anyway, pointing the camera at the ceiling, her voice languid as if she had just finished a bath:
"Hello?"
"Jiaojiao, are you home yet?"
Lu Jinyuan's voice came through the receiver, carrying a hint of barely perceptible urgency. His purple eyes were fixed on the screen, unwilling to look away even though all he could see was a white ceiling.
"We're here, just finished taking a bath."
Su Jiaojiao said softly
"Have you eaten properly?"
Lu Jinyuan pressed on, his tone filled with undeniable concern.
"The snacks I had my assistant send should arrive soon; they're all your favorites, so don't go hungry."
"Okay, I'll go cook in a bit."
Su Jiaojiao said helplessly
Before she could even put her phone down after hanging up Lu Jinyuan's call, Jiang Yi's video call came in.
She also pointed the camera at the ceiling; Jiang Yi's blue eyes were full of tenderness, yet also concealed a hint of obsession.
"Jiaojiao, I just heard from Lu Jinyuan that you've arrived home. Were you tired from the journey?"
Did you listen to the melody I sent you? Is there anything that needs to be changed?
"I'm not tired, the melody is very nice, thank you."
Su Jiaojiao responded patiently.
Jiang Yi couldn't stop talking about music, from the arrangement of melodies to the imagery of the lyrics, for a full twenty minutes before reluctantly hanging up. Before hanging up, he specifically reminded him:
"Jiaojiao, if Lu Jinyuan bullies you, you must tell me."
Su Jiaojiao was both amused and exasperated.
These two men are secretly competing with each other every day.
Lu Jinyuan would deliberately show off the things he bought for Su Jiaojiao in front of Jiang Yi, while Jiang Yi would show off the music he composed for Su Jiaojiao in front of Lu Jinyuan.
Their love was direct and intense, even somewhat morbid, yet they both cherished her with utmost care, afraid that she might suffer the slightest grievance.
